Psalm 65
God’s Care for the Earth
For the choir director. A psalm of David. A song.
1Praise is rightfully yours,65:1 Or Praise is silence to you, or Praise awaits you
God, in Zion;
2All humanity will come to you,
3Iniquities overwhelm me;
4How happy is the one you choose
and bring near to live in your courts!
5You answer us in righteousness,
with awe-inspiring works,
God of our salvation,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
6You establish the mountains by your power;
7You silence the roar of the seas,
the roar of their waves,
8Those who live far away are awed by your signs;
9You visit the earth and water it abundantly,
enriching it greatly.
God’s stream is filled with water,
for you prepare the earth in this way,
10You soften it with showers and bless its growth,
11You crown the year with your goodness;
12The wilderness pastures overflow,
and the hills are robed with joy.65:12 Jb 38:26–27; Is 55:12; Jl 2:22
13The pastures are clothed with flocks
They shout in triumph; indeed, they sing.65:13 Is 44:23
