- Jeremiah 50:24 - I set a trap for you and you were also caught, Babylon, While you yourself were not aware; You have been found and also seized Because you have engaged in conflict with the Lord.”
- Jeremiah 50:25 - The Lord has opened His armory And has brought out the weapons of His indignation, For it is a work of the Lord God of armies In the land of the Chaldeans.
- Jeremiah 50:26 - Come to her from the farthest border; Open up her barns, Pile her up like heaps of grain And completely destroy her, Let nothing be left to her.
- Jeremiah 50:27 - Put all her bulls to the sword; Let them go down to the slaughter! Woe be upon them, for their day has come, The time of their punishment.
- Jeremiah 50:28 - There is a sound of fugitives and refugees from the land of Babylon, To declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, Vengeance for His temple.
- Jeremiah 50:29 - “Summon many against Babylon, All those who bend the bow: Encamp against her on every side, Let there be no escape . Repay her according to her work; According to all that she has done, so do to her; For she has become arrogant against the Lord, Against the Holy One of Israel.
- Jeremiah 50:30 - Therefore her young men will fall in her streets, And all her men of war will perish on that day,” declares the Lord.
- Jeremiah 50:31 - “Behold, I am against you, arrogant one,” Declares the Lord God of armies, “For your day has come, The time when I will punish you.
- Jeremiah 50:32 - The arrogant one will stumble and fall With no one to raise him up; And I will set fire to his cities, And it will devour all his surroundings.”
- Jeremiah 50:33 - This is what the Lord of armies says: “The sons of Israel are oppressed, And the sons of Judah as well; And all who took them captive have held them firmly, They have refused to let them go.
- Jeremiah 50:34 - Their Redeemer is strong, the Lord of armies is His name; He will vigorously plead their case So that He may bring rest to their land, But turmoil to the inhabitants of Babylon.
- Jeremiah 50:35 - A sword against the Chaldeans,” declares the Lord, “And against the inhabitants of Babylon And against her leaders and her wise men!
- Jeremiah 50:36 - A sword against the oracle priests, and they will become fools! A sword against her warriors, and they will be shattered!
- Jeremiah 50:37 - A sword against their horses, against their chariots, And against all the foreigners who are in the midst of her, And they will become women! A sword against her treasures, and they will be plundered!
- Jeremiah 50:38 - A drought on her waters, and they will be dried up! For it is a land of idols, And they go insane at frightful images.
- Jeremiah 50:39 - “Therefore the desert creatures will live there with the jackals; The ostriches also will live in it. It will never again be inhabited Nor lived in from generation to generation.
- Jeremiah 50:40 - As when God overthrew Sodom And Gomorrah with its neighbors,” declares the Lord, “No one will live there, Nor will anyone of mankind reside in it.
- Jeremiah 50:41 - “Behold, a people is coming from the north, And a great nation and many kings Will be roused from the remote parts of the earth.
- Jeremiah 50:42 - They seize their bow and javelin; They are cruel and have no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea; And they ride on horses, Drawn up like a man for the battle Against you, daughter of Babylon.
- Jeremiah 50:43 - The king of Babylon has heard the report about them, And his hands hang limp; Distress has gripped him, Agony like a woman in childbirth.
- Jeremiah 50:44 - “Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thicket of the Jordan to a perennially watered pasture; for in an instant I will chase them away from it, and I will appoint over it whoever is chosen. For who is like Me, and who will summon Me into court? And who then is the shepherd who can stand against Me?”
- Jeremiah 50:45 - Therefore hear the plan of the Lord which He has planned against Babylon, and His purposes which He has in mind against the land of the Chaldeans: they will certainly drag them off, even the little ones of the flock; He will certainly make their pasture desolate because of them.
- Jeremiah 50:46 - At the shout, “Babylon has been conquered!” the earth quakes, and an outcry is heard among the nations.

- 1 Kings 10:1 - Now when the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon in relation to the name of the Lord, she came to test him with riddles.
- 1 Kings 10:2 - So she came to Jerusalem with a very large entourage, with camels carrying balsam oil and a very large quantity of gold and precious stones. When she came to Solomon, she spoke to him about everything that was in her heart.
- 1 Kings 10:3 - And Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was concealed from the king which he did not explain to her.
- 1 Kings 10:4 - When the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
- 1 Kings 10:5 - and the food of his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their attire, his cupbearers, and his burnt offerings which he offered at the house of the Lord, she was breathless.
- 1 Kings 10:6 - Then she said to the king, “It was a true story that I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.
- 1 Kings 10:7 - But I did not believe the stories until I came and my own eyes saw it all. And behold, the half of it was not reported to me. You have exceeded in wisdom and prosperity the report which I heard.
- 1 Kings 10:8 - Blessed are your men, and blessed are these servants of yours who stand before you continually and hear your wisdom!
- 1 Kings 10:9 - Blessed be the Lord your God who delighted in you to put you on the throne of Israel; because the Lord loves Israel forever, He made you king, to do justice and righteousness.”
- 1 Kings 10:10 - Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, and a very large amount of balsam oil and precious stones. Never again did such a large quantity of balsam oil come in as that which the queen of Sheba gave King Solomon.
- 1 Kings 10:11 - And the ships of Hiram as well, which brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir a very great number of almug trees and precious stones.
- 1 Kings 10:12 - The king made from the almug trees supports for the house of the Lord and for the king’s house, and lyres and harps for the singers; such almug trees have not come in again, nor have they been seen to this day.
- 1 Kings 10:13 - And King Solomon granted the queen of Sheba everything she desired, whatever she requested, besides what he gave her in proportion to his royal bounty. Then she departed and went to her own land together with her servants.
- 1 Kings 10:14 - Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was 666 talents of gold,
- 1 Kings 10:15 - besides that from the traders, and the wares of the merchants and all the kings of the Arabs and the governors of the country.
- 1 Kings 10:16 - King Solomon made two hundred large shields of beaten gold, using six hundred shekels of gold on each large shield.
- 1 Kings 10:17 - And he made three hundred small shields of beaten gold, using three minas of gold on each shield; and the king put them in the house of the timber of Lebanon.
- 1 Kings 10:18 - Moreover, the king made a large throne of ivory and overlaid it with fine gold.
- 1 Kings 10:19 - There were six steps to the throne and a round top to the throne at its back, and armrests on each side of the seat, and two lions standing beside the armrests.
- 1 Kings 10:20 - Twelve lions were standing there on the six steps on the one side and on the other; nothing like it was made for any other kingdom.
- 1 Kings 10:21 - Now all King Solomon’s drinking utensils were of gold, and all the utensils of the house of the timber of Lebanon were of pure gold. None was of silver; it was not considered as amounting to anything in the days of Solomon.
- 1 Kings 10:22 - For the king had the ships of Tarshish at sea with Hiram’s ships; once every three years the ships of Tarshish would come carrying gold and silver, ivory, monkeys, and peacocks.
- 1 Kings 10:23 - So King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth in wealth and wisdom.
- 1 Kings 10:24 - And all the earth was seeking the attention of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
- 1 Kings 10:25 - And they were bringing, everyone, a gift: articles of silver and gold, garments, weapons, balsam oil, horses, and mules, so much year by year.
- 1 Kings 10:26 - Now Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; and he had 1,400 chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, and he stationed them in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.
- 1 Kings 10:27 - And the king made silver as common as stones in Jerusalem, and he made cedars as plentiful as sycamore trees that are in the lowland.
- 1 Kings 10:28 - Also Solomon’s import of horses was from Egypt and Kue, and the king’s merchants acquired them from Kue for a price.
- 1 Kings 10:29 - A chariot was imported from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for 150; and by the same means they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and to the kings of the Arameans.
