- Hebrews 7:1 - Now this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, met Abraham as he was returning from defeating the kings and blessed him.
- Numbers 35:25 - The community must deliver the slayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the community must restore him to the town of refuge to which he fled, and he must live there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the consecrated oil.
- Isaiah 49:1 - Listen to me, you coastlands! Pay attention, you people who live far away! The Lord summoned me from birth; he commissioned me when my mother brought me into the world.
- Isaiah 49:2 - He made my mouth like a sharp sword, he hid me in the hollow of his hand; he made me like a sharpened arrow, he hid me in his quiver.
- Isaiah 49:3 - He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, through whom I will reveal my splendor.”
- Isaiah 49:4 - But I thought, “I have worked in vain; I have expended my energy for absolutely nothing.” But the Lord will vindicate me; my God will reward me.
- Isaiah 49:5 - So now the Lord says, the one who formed me from birth to be his servant – he did this to restore Jacob to himself, so that Israel might be gathered to him; and I will be honored in the Lord’s sight, for my God is my source of strength –
- Isaiah 49:6 - he says, “Is it too insignificant a task for you to be my servant, to reestablish the tribes of Jacob, and restore the remnant of Israel? I will make you a light to the nations, so you can bring my deliverance to the remote regions of the earth.”
- Isaiah 49:7 - This is what the Lord, the protector of Israel, their Holy One, says to the one who is despised and rejected by nations, a servant of rulers: “Kings will see and rise in respect, princes will bow down, because of the faithful Lord, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen you.”
- Isaiah 49:8 - This is what the Lord says: “At the time I decide to show my favor, I will respond to you; in the day of deliverance I will help you; I will protect you and make you a covenant mediator for people, to rebuild the land and to reassign the desolate property.
- Hosea 1:7 - But I will have pity on the nation of Judah. I will deliver them by the Lord their God; I will not deliver them by the warrior’s bow, by sword, by military victory, by chariot horses, or by chariots.”
- Hosea 1:8 - When she had weaned ‘No Pity’ (Lo-Ruhamah) she conceived again and gave birth to another son.
- Hosea 1:9 - Then the Lord said: “Name him ‘Not My People’ (Lo-Ammi), because you are not my people and I am not your God.”
- Hosea 1:10 - (2:1) However, in the future the number of the people of Israel will be like the sand of the sea which can be neither measured nor numbered. Although it was said to them, “You are not my people,” it will be said to them, “You are children of the living God!”
- Hosea 1:11 - Then the people of Judah and the people of Israel will be gathered together. They will appoint for themselves one leader, and will flourish in the land. Certainly, the day of Jezreel will be great!
- Acts 7:37 - This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, ‘God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers.’
- Psalms 16:9 - So my heart rejoices and I am happy; My life is safe.
- Psalms 16:10 - You will not abandon me to Sheol; you will not allow your faithful follower to see the Pit.
- Psalms 16:11 - You lead me in the path of life; I experience absolute joy in your presence; you always give me sheer delight.
- Jeremiah 23:5 - “I, the Lord, promise that a new time will certainly come when I will raise up for them a righteous branch, a descendant of David. He will rule over them with wisdom and understanding and will do what is just and right in the land.
- Hosea 3:5 - Afterward, the Israelites will turn and seek the Lord their God and their Davidic king. Then they will submit to the Lord in fear and receive his blessings in the future.
- Numbers 21:8 - The Lord said to Moses, “Make a poisonous snake and set it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks at it, he will live.”
- Genesis 14:18 - Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. (Now he was the priest of the Most High God.)
- Daniel 2:44 - In the days of those kings the God of heaven will raise up an everlasting kingdom that will not be destroyed and a kingdom that will not be left to another people. It will break in pieces and bring about the demise of all these kingdoms. But it will stand forever.
- Isaiah 42:1 - “Here is my servant whom I support, my chosen one in whom I take pleasure. I have placed my spirit on him; he will make just decrees for the nations.
- Isaiah 42:2 - He will not cry out or shout; he will not publicize himself in the streets.
- Isaiah 42:3 - A crushed reed he will not break, a dim wick he will not extinguish; he will faithfully make just decrees.
- Isaiah 42:4 - He will not grow dim or be crushed before establishing justice on the earth; the coastlands will wait in anticipation for his decrees.”
- Micah 5:1 - (4:14) But now slash yourself, daughter surrounded by soldiers! We are besieged! With a scepter they strike Israel’s ruler on the side of his face.
- Micah 5:2 - (5:1) As for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, seemingly insignificant among the clans of Judah – from you a king will emerge who will rule over Israel on my behalf, one whose origins are in the distant past.
- Micah 5:3 - So the Lord will hand the people of Israel over to their enemies until the time when the woman in labor gives birth. Then the rest of the king’s countrymen will return to be reunited with the people of Israel.
- Micah 5:4 - He will assume his post and shepherd the people by the Lord’s strength, by the sovereign authority of the Lord his God. They will live securely, for at that time he will be honored even in the distant regions of the earth.
- Hebrews 3:5 - Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that would be spoken.
- Isaiah 28:16 - Therefore, this is what the sovereign master, the Lord, says: “Look, I am laying a stone in Zion, an approved stone, set in place as a precious cornerstone for the foundation. The one who maintains his faith will not panic.
- Psalms 88:1 - O Lord God who delivers me! By day I cry out and at night I pray before you.
- Psalms 88:2 - Listen to my prayer! Pay attention to my cry for help!
- Psalms 88:3 - For my life is filled with troubles and I am ready to enter Sheol.
- Psalms 88:4 - They treat me like those who descend into the grave. I am like a helpless man,
- Psalms 88:5 - adrift among the dead, like corpses lying in the grave, whom you remember no more, and who are cut off from your power.
- Psalms 88:6 - You place me in the lowest regions of the pit, in the dark places, in the watery depths.
- Psalms 88:7 - Your anger bears down on me, and you overwhelm me with all your waves. (Selah)
- Psalms 88:8 - You cause those who know me to keep their distance; you make me an appalling sight to them. I am trapped and cannot get free.
- Psalms 88:9 - My eyes grow weak because of oppression. I call out to you, O Lord, all day long; I spread out my hands in prayer to you.
- Psalms 88:10 - Do you accomplish amazing things for the dead? Do the departed spirits rise up and give you thanks? (Selah)
- Psalms 88:11 - Is your loyal love proclaimed in the grave, or your faithfulness in the place of the dead?
- Psalms 88:12 - Are your amazing deeds experienced in the dark region, or your deliverance in the land of oblivion?
- Psalms 88:13 - As for me, I cry out to you, O Lord; in the morning my prayer confronts you.

- 1 Peter 1:11 - They probed into what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating when he testified beforehand about the sufferings appointed for Christ and his subsequent glory.
- Isaiah 61:1 - The spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,
- Isaiah 61:2 - to announce the year when the Lord will show his favor, the day when our God will seek vengeance, to console all who mourn,
- Isaiah 61:3 - to strengthen those who mourn in Zion, by giving them a turban, instead of ashes, oil symbolizing joy, instead of mourning, a garment symbolizing praise, instead of discouragement. They will be called oaks of righteousness, trees planted by the Lord to reveal his splendor.
- Daniel 7:13 - I was watching in the night visions, “And with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man was approaching. He went up to the Ancient of Days and was escorted before him.
- Daniel 9:24 - “Seventy weeks have been determined concerning your people and your holy city to put an end to rebellion, to bring sin to completion, to atone for iniquity, to bring in perpetual righteousness, to seal up the prophetic vision, and to anoint a most holy place.
- Daniel 9:25 - So know and understand: From the issuing of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until an anointed one, a prince arrives, there will be a period of seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will again be built, with plaza and moat, but in distressful times.
- Daniel 9:26 - Now after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one will be cut off and have nothing. As for the city and the sanctuary, the people of the coming prince will destroy them. But his end will come speedily like a flood. Until the end of the war that has been decreed there will be destruction.
- Daniel 9:27 - He will confirm a covenant with many for one week. But in the middle of that week he will bring sacrifices and offerings to a halt. On the wing of abominations will come one who destroys, until the decreed end is poured out on the one who destroys.”
- Ezekiel 17:22 - “‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: “‘I will take a sprig from the lofty top of the cedar and plant it. I will pluck from the top one of its tender twigs; I myself will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.
- Psalms 69:1 - Deliver me, O God, for the water has reached my neck.
- Psalms 69:2 - I sink into the deep mire where there is no solid ground; I am in deep water, and the current overpowers me.
- Psalms 69:3 - I am exhausted from shouting for help; my throat is sore; my eyes grow tired of looking for my God.
- Psalms 69:4 - Those who hate me without cause are more numerous than the hairs of my head. Those who want to destroy me, my enemies for no reason, outnumber me. They make me repay what I did not steal!
- Psalms 69:5 - O God, you are aware of my foolish sins; my guilt is not hidden from you.
- Psalms 69:6 - Let none who rely on you be disgraced because of me, O sovereign Lord and king! Let none who seek you be ashamed because of me, O God of Israel!
- Psalms 69:7 - For I suffer humiliation for your sake and am thoroughly disgraced.
- Psalms 69:8 - My own brothers treat me like a stranger; they act as if I were a foreigner.
- Psalms 69:9 - Certainly zeal for your house consumes me; I endure the insults of those who insult you.
- Psalms 69:10 - I weep and refrain from eating food, which causes others to insult me.
- Psalms 69:11 - I wear sackcloth and they ridicule me.
- Psalms 69:12 - Those who sit at the city gate gossip about me; drunkards mock me in their songs.
- Psalms 69:13 - O Lord, may you hear my prayer and be favorably disposed to me! O God, because of your great loyal love, answer me with your faithful deliverance!
- Psalms 69:14 - Rescue me from the mud! Don’t let me sink! Deliver me from those who hate me, from the deep water!
- Psalms 69:15 - Don’t let the current overpower me! Don’t let the deep swallow me up! Don’t let the pit devour me!
- Psalms 69:16 - Answer me, O Lord, for your loyal love is good! Because of your great compassion, turn toward me!
- Psalms 69:17 - Do not ignore your servant, for I am in trouble! Answer me right away!
- Psalms 69:18 - Come near me and redeem me! Because of my enemies, rescue me!
- Psalms 69:19 - You know how I am insulted, humiliated and disgraced; you can see all my enemies.
- Psalms 69:20 - Their insults are painful and make me lose heart; I look for sympathy, but receive none, for comforters, but find none.
- Psalms 69:21 - They put bitter poison into my food, and to quench my thirst they give me vinegar to drink.
- Psalms 69:22 - May their dining table become a trap before them! May it be a snare for that group of friends!
- Psalms 69:23 - May their eyes be blinded! Make them shake violently!
- Psalms 69:24 - Pour out your judgment on them! May your raging anger overtake them!
- Psalms 69:25 - May their camp become desolate, their tents uninhabited!
- Psalms 69:26 - For they harass the one whom you discipline; they spread the news about the suffering of those whom you punish.
- Psalms 69:27 - Hold them accountable for all their sins! Do not vindicate them!
- Psalms 69:28 - May their names be deleted from the scroll of the living! Do not let their names be listed with the godly!
- Psalms 69:29 - I am oppressed and suffering! O God, deliver and protect me!
- Psalms 69:30 - I will sing praises to God’s name! I will magnify him as I give him thanks!
- Psalms 69:31 - That will please the Lord more than an ox or a bull with horns and hooves.
- Psalms 69:32 - The oppressed look on – let them rejoice! You who seek God, may you be encouraged!
- Psalms 69:33 - For the Lord listens to the needy; he does not despise his captive people.
- Psalms 69:34 - Let the heavens and the earth praise him, along with the seas and everything that swims in them!
- Psalms 69:35 - For God will deliver Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah, and his people will again live in them and possess Zion.
- Psalms 69:36 - The descendants of his servants will inherit it, and those who are loyal to him will live in it.
- Zechariah 13:7 - “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is my associate,” says the Lord who rules over all. Strike the shepherd that the flock may be scattered; I will turn my hand against the insignificant ones.
- Psalms 118:22 - The stone which the builders discarded has become the cornerstone.
- Matthew 16:21 - From that time on Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and experts in the law, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.

- Zechariah 11:9 - I then said, “I will not shepherd you. What is to die, let it die, and what is to be eradicated, let it be eradicated. As for those who survive, let them eat each other’s flesh!”
- Zechariah 11:10 - Then I took my staff “Pleasantness” and cut it in two to annul my covenant that I had made with all the people.
- Zechariah 11:11 - So it was annulled that very day, and then the most afflicted of the flock who kept faith with me knew that that was the word of the Lord.
- Zechariah 11:12 - Then I said to them, “If it seems good to you, pay me my wages, but if not, forget it.” So they weighed out my payment – thirty pieces of silver.
- Zechariah 11:13 - The Lord then said to me, “Throw to the potter that exorbitant sum at which they valued me!” So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them to the potter at the temple of the Lord.
- Luke 9:44 - “Take these words to heart, for the Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men.”
- Psalms 109:4 - They repay my love with accusations, but I continue to pray.
- Psalms 109:5 - They repay me evil for good, and hate for love.
- Psalms 109:6 - Appoint an evil man to testify against him! May an accuser stand at his right side!
- Psalms 109:7 - When he is judged, he will be found guilty! Then his prayer will be regarded as sinful.
- Psalms 109:8 - May his days be few! May another take his job!
- Psalms 109:9 - May his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow!
- Psalms 109:10 - May his children roam around begging, asking for handouts as they leave their ruined home!
- Psalms 109:11 - May the creditor seize all he owns! May strangers loot his property!
- Psalms 109:12 - May no one show him kindness! May no one have compassion on his fatherless children!
- Psalms 109:13 - May his descendants be cut off! May the memory of them be wiped out by the time the next generation arrives!
- Psalms 109:14 - May his ancestors’ sins be remembered by the Lord! May his mother’s sin not be forgotten!
- Psalms 109:15 - May the Lord be constantly aware of them, and cut off the memory of his children from the earth!
- Psalms 109:16 - For he never bothered to show kindness; he harassed the oppressed and needy, and killed the disheartened.
- Psalms 109:17 - He loved to curse others, so those curses have come upon him. He had no desire to bless anyone, so he has experienced no blessings.
- Psalms 109:18 - He made cursing a way of life, so curses poured into his stomach like water and seeped into his bones like oil.
- Psalms 109:19 - May a curse attach itself to him, like a garment one puts on, or a belt one wears continually!
- Psalms 109:20 - May the Lord repay my accusers in this way, those who say evil things about me!
- Hebrews 9:8 - The Holy Spirit is making clear that the way into the holy place had not yet appeared as long as the old tabernacle was standing.
- Isaiah 11:1 - A shoot will grow out of Jesse’s root stock, a bud will sprout from his roots.
- Isaiah 11:2 - The Lord’s spirit will rest on him – a spirit that gives extraordinary wisdom, a spirit that provides the ability to execute plans, a spirit that produces absolute loyalty to the Lord.
- Isaiah 11:3 - He will take delight in obeying the Lord. He will not judge by mere appearances, or make decisions on the basis of hearsay.
- Isaiah 11:4 - He will treat the poor fairly, and make right decisions for the downtrodden of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and order the wicked to be executed.
- Isaiah 11:5 - Justice will be like a belt around his waist, integrity will be like a belt around his hips.
- Isaiah 11:6 - A wolf will reside with a lamb, and a leopard will lie down with a young goat; an ox and a young lion will graze together, as a small child leads them along.
- Isaiah 11:7 - A cow and a bear will graze together, their young will lie down together. A lion, like an ox, will eat straw.
- Isaiah 11:8 - A baby will play over the hole of a snake; over the nest of a serpent an infant will put his hand.
- Isaiah 11:9 - They will no longer injure or destroy on my entire royal mountain. For there will be universal submission to the Lord’s sovereignty, just as the waters completely cover the sea.
- Isaiah 11:10 - At that time a root from Jesse will stand like a signal flag for the nations. Nations will look to him for guidance, and his residence will be majestic.
- Ezekiel 34:23 - I will set one shepherd over them, and he will feed them – namely, my servant David. He will feed them and will be their shepherd.
- Isaiah 7:14 - For this reason the sovereign master himself will give you a confirming sign. Look, this young woman is about to conceive and will give birth to a son. You, young woman, will name him Immanuel.
- Psalms 22:1 - My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? I groan in prayer, but help seems far away.
- Psalms 22:2 - My God, I cry out during the day, but you do not answer, and during the night my prayers do not let up.
- Psalms 22:3 - You are holy; you sit as king receiving the praises of Israel.
- Psalms 22:4 - In you our ancestors trusted; they trusted in you and you rescued them.
- Psalms 22:5 - To you they cried out, and they were saved; in you they trusted and they were not disappointed.
- Psalms 22:6 - But I am a worm, not a man; people insult me and despise me.
- Psalms 22:7 - All who see me taunt me; they mock me and shake their heads.
- Psalms 22:8 - They say, “Commit yourself to the Lord! Let the Lord rescue him! Let the Lord deliver him, for he delights in him.”
- Psalms 22:9 - Yes, you are the one who brought me out from the womb and made me feel secure on my mother’s breasts.
- Psalms 22:10 - I have been dependent on you since birth; from the time I came out of my mother’s womb you have been my God.
- Psalms 22:11 - Do not remain far away from me, for trouble is near and I have no one to help me.
- Psalms 22:12 - Many bulls surround me; powerful bulls of Bashan hem me in.
- Psalms 22:13 - They open their mouths to devour me like a roaring lion that rips its prey.
- Psalms 22:14 - My strength drains away like water; all my bones are dislocated; my heart is like wax; it melts away inside me.
- Psalms 22:15 - The roof of my mouth is as dry as a piece of pottery; my tongue sticks to my gums. You set me in the dust of death.
- Psalms 22:16 - Yes, wild dogs surround me – a gang of evil men crowd around me; like a lion they pin my hands and feet.
- Psalms 22:17 - I can count all my bones; my enemies are gloating over me in triumph.
- Psalms 22:18 - They are dividing up my clothes among themselves; they are rolling dice for my garments.
- Psalms 22:19 - But you, O Lord, do not remain far away! You are my source of strength! Hurry and help me!
- Psalms 22:20 - Deliver me from the sword! Save my life from the claws of the wild dogs!
- Psalms 22:21 - Rescue me from the mouth of the lion, and from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered me!
- Psalms 22:22 - I will declare your name to my countrymen! In the middle of the assembly I will praise you!
- Psalms 22:23 - You loyal followers of the Lord, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! All you descendants of Israel, stand in awe of him!
- Psalms 22:24 - For he did not despise or detest the suffering of the oppressed; he did not ignore him; when he cried out to him, he responded.
- Psalms 22:25 - You are the reason I offer praise in the great assembly; I will fulfill my promises before the Lord’s loyal followers.
- Psalms 22:26 - Let the oppressed eat and be filled! Let those who seek his help praise the Lord! May you live forever!
- Psalms 22:27 - Let all the people of the earth acknowledge the Lord and turn to him! Let all the nations worship you!
- Psalms 22:28 - For the Lord is king and rules over the nations.
- Psalms 22:29 - All of the thriving people of the earth will join the celebration and worship; all those who are descending into the grave will bow before him, including those who cannot preserve their lives.
- Psalms 22:30 - A whole generation will serve him; they will tell the next generation about the sovereign Lord.
- Psalms 22:31 - They will come and tell about his saving deeds; they will tell a future generation what he has accomplished.
- Luke 24:6 - He is not here, but has been raised! Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee,
- Luke 24:7 - that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.”
- Acts 3:22 - Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must obey him in everything he tells you.
- Acts 3:23 - Every person who does not obey that prophet will be destroyed and thus removed from the people.’
- Acts 3:24 - And all the prophets, from Samuel and those who followed him, have spoken about and announced these days.
- John 5:46 - If you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me.
- Revelation 19:10 - So I threw myself down at his feet to worship him, but he said, “Do not do this! I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
- Zechariah 9:9 - Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Look! Your king is coming to you: he is legitimate and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey – on a young donkey, the foal of a female donkey.

- Psalms 110:2 - The Lord extends your dominion from Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies!
- Psalms 110:3 - Your people willingly follow you when you go into battle. On the holy hills at sunrise the dew of your youth belongs to you.
- Psalms 110:4 - The Lord makes this promise on oath and will not revoke it: “You are an eternal priest after the pattern of Melchizedek.”
- Psalms 110:5 - O sovereign Lord, at your right hand he strikes down kings in the day he unleashes his anger.
- Psalms 110:6 - He executes judgment against the nations; he fills the valleys with corpses; he shatters their heads over the vast battlefield.
- Psalms 110:7 - From the stream along the road he drinks; then he lifts up his head.
- Isaiah 40:1 - “Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
- Isaiah 40:2 - “Speak kindly to Jerusalem, and tell her that her time of warfare is over, that her punishment is completed. For the Lord has made her pay double for all her sins.”
- Isaiah 40:3 - A voice cries out, “In the wilderness clear a way for the Lord; construct in the desert a road for our God.
- Isaiah 40:4 - Every valley must be elevated, and every mountain and hill leveled. The rough terrain will become a level plain, the rugged landscape a wide valley.
- Isaiah 40:5 - The splendor of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it at the same time. For the Lord has decreed it.”
- Isaiah 40:6 - A voice says, “Cry out!” Another asks, “What should I cry out?” The first voice responds: “All people are like grass, and all their promises are like the flowers in the field.
- Isaiah 40:7 - The grass dries up, the flowers wither, when the wind sent by the Lord blows on them. Surely humanity is like grass.
- Isaiah 40:8 - The grass dries up, the flowers wither, but the decree of our God is forever reliable.”
- Isaiah 40:9 - Go up on a high mountain, O herald Zion! Shout out loudly, O herald Jerusalem! Shout, don’t be afraid! Say to the towns of Judah, “Here is your God!”
