Ecclesiastes 7:6 - For like the crackling of [burning] thorn bushes under a pot, So is the laughter of the fool; And this too is vanity (futility).

Proverbs 14:13 - Even in laughter the heart may be in pain, And the end of joy may be grief.
Matthew 5:4 - “Blessed [forgiven, refreshed by God’s grace] are those who mourn [over their sins and repent], for they will be comforted [when the burden of sin is lifted].
