  • Obadiah 1:7 - All the men in your confederacy Shall force you to the border; The men at peace with you Shall deceive you and prevail against you. Those who eat your bread shall lay a trap for you. No one is aware of it.
  • Obadiah 1:8 - “Will I not in that day,” says the Lord, “Even destroy the wise men from Edom, And understanding from the mountains of Esau?
  • Obadiah 1:9 - Then your mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, To the end that everyone from the mountains of Esau May be cut off by slaughter.
  • Obadiah 1:10 - “For violence against your brother Jacob, Shame shall cover you, And you shall be cut off forever.
  • Obadiah 1:11 - In the day that you stood on the other side— In the day that strangers carried captive his forces, When foreigners entered his gates And cast lots for Jerusalem— Even you were as one of them.
  • Obadiah 1:12 - “But you should not have gazed on the day of your brother In the day of his captivity; Nor should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah In the day of their destruction; Nor should you have spoken proudly In the day of distress.
  • Obadiah 1:13 - You should not have entered the gate of My people In the day of their calamity. Indeed, you should not have gazed on their affliction In the day of their calamity, Nor laid hands on their substance In the day of their calamity.
  • Obadiah 1:14 - You should not have stood at the crossroads To cut off those among them who escaped; Nor should you have delivered up those among them who remained In the day of distress.
  • Ezekiel 35:1 - Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
  • Ezekiel 35:2 - “Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir and prophesy against it,
  • Ezekiel 35:3 - and say to it, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, O Mount Seir, I am against you; I will stretch out My hand against you, And make you most desolate;
  • Ezekiel 35:4 - I shall lay your cities waste, And you shall be desolate. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.
  • Ezekiel 35:5 - “Because you have had an ancient hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when their iniquity came to an end,
  • Ezekiel 35:6 - therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you.
  • Ezekiel 35:7 - Thus I will make Mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it the one who leaves and the one who returns.
  • Ezekiel 35:8 - And I will fill its mountains with the slain; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those who are slain by the sword shall fall.
  • Ezekiel 35:9 - I will make you perpetually desolate, and your cities shall be uninhabited; then you shall know that I am the Lord.
  • Ezekiel 35:10 - “Because you have said, ‘These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess them,’ although the Lord was there,
  • Ezekiel 35:11 - therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will do according to your anger and according to the envy which you showed in your hatred against them; and I will make Myself known among them when I judge you.
  • Ezekiel 35:12 - Then you shall know that I am the Lord. I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are desolate; they are given to us to consume.’
  • Ezekiel 35:13 - Thus with your mouth you have boasted against Me and multiplied your words against Me; I have heard them.”
  • Ezekiel 35:14 - ‘Thus says the Lord God: “The whole earth will rejoice when I make you desolate.
  • Ezekiel 35:15 - As you rejoiced because the inheritance of the house of Israel was desolate, so I will do to you; you shall be desolate, O Mount Seir, as well as all of Edom—all of it! Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’
  • Jeremiah 49:7 - Against Edom. Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?
  • Jeremiah 49:8 - Flee, turn back, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Dedan! For I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, The time that I will punish him.
  • Jeremiah 49:9 - If grape-gatherers came to you, Would they not leave some gleaning grapes? If thieves by night, Would they not destroy until they have enough?
  • Jeremiah 49:10 - But I have made Esau bare; I have uncovered his secret places, And he shall not be able to hide himself. His descendants are plundered, His brethren and his neighbors, And he is no more.
  • Jeremiah 49:11 - Leave your fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; And let your widows trust in Me.”
  • Jeremiah 49:12 - For thus says the Lord: “Behold, those whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunk. And are you the one who will altogether go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, but you shall surely drink of it.
  • Jeremiah 49:13 - For I have sworn by Myself,” says the Lord, “that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse. And all its cities shall be perpetual wastes.”
  • Jeremiah 49:14 - I have heard a message from the Lord, And an ambassador has been sent to the nations: “Gather together, come against her, And rise up to battle!
  • Jeremiah 49:15 - “For indeed, I will make you small among nations, Despised among men.
  • Jeremiah 49:16 - Your fierceness has deceived you, The pride of your heart, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, Who hold the height of the hill! Though you make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there,” says the Lord.
  • Jeremiah 49:17 - “Edom also shall be an astonishment; Everyone who goes by it will be astonished And will hiss at all its plagues.
  • Jeremiah 49:18 - As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah And their neighbors,” says the Lord, “No one shall remain there, Nor shall a son of man dwell in it.
  • Jeremiah 49:19 - “Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the floodplain of the Jordan Against the dwelling place of the strong; But I will suddenly make him run away from her. And who is a chosen man that I may appoint over her? For who is like Me? Who will arraign Me? And who is that shepherd Who will withstand Me?”
  • Jeremiah 49:20 - Therefore hear the counsel of the Lord that He has taken against Edom, And His purposes that He has proposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out; Surely He shall make their dwelling places desolate with them.
  • Jeremiah 49:21 - The earth shakes at the noise of their fall; At the cry its noise is heard at the Red Sea.
  • Jeremiah 49:22 - Behold, He shall come up and fly like the eagle, And spread His wings over Bozrah; The heart of the mighty men of Edom in that day shall be Like the heart of a woman in birth pangs.
  • Joel 3:19 - “Egypt shall be a desolation, And Edom a desolate wilderness, Because of violence against the people of Judah, For they have shed innocent blood in their land.
  • Psalms 137:7 - Remember, O Lord, against the sons of Edom The day of Jerusalem, Who said, “Raze it, raze it, To its very foundation!”
  • Numbers 20:14 - Now Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom. “Thus says your brother Israel: ‘You know all the hardship that has befallen us,
  • Numbers 20:15 - how our fathers went down to Egypt, and we dwelt in Egypt a long time, and the Egyptians afflicted us and our fathers.
  • Numbers 20:16 - When we cried out to the Lord, He heard our voice and sent the Angel and brought us up out of Egypt; now here we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your border.
  • Numbers 20:17 - Please let us pass through your country. We will not pass through fields or vineyards, nor will we drink water from wells; we will go along the King’s Highway; we will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left until we have passed through your territory.’ ”
  • Numbers 20:18 - Then Edom said to him, “You shall not pass through my land, lest I come out against you with the sword.”
  • Numbers 20:19 - So the children of Israel said to him, “We will go by the Highway, and if I or my livestock drink any of your water, then I will pay for it; let me only pass through on foot, nothing more.”
  • Numbers 20:20 - Then he said, “You shall not pass through.” So Edom came out against them with many men and with a strong hand.
  • Numbers 20:21 - Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory; so Israel turned away from him.
  • Malachi 1:4 - Even though Edom has said, “We have been impoverished, But we will return and build the desolate places,” Thus says the Lord of hosts: “They may build, but I will throw down; They shall be called the Territory of Wickedness, And the people against whom the Lord will have indignation forever.
  • 2 Chronicles 28:17 - For again the Edomites had come, attacked Judah, and carried away captives.
  • Ezekiel 25:12 - ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Because of what Edom did against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended by avenging itself on them,”
  • Ezekiel 25:13 - therefore thus says the Lord God: “I will also stretch out My hand against Edom, cut off man and beast from it, and make it desolate from Teman; Dedan shall fall by the sword.
  • Ezekiel 25:14 - I will lay My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel, that they may do in Edom according to My anger and according to My fury; and they shall know My vengeance,” says the Lord God.
