  • Isaiah 63:7 - I will make mention of the lovingkindnesses of Jehovah, and the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
  • Obadiah 1:1 - The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah concerning Edom: We have heard tidings from Jehovah, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.
  • Obadiah 1:2 - Behold, I have made thee small among the nations: thou art greatly despised.
  • Obadiah 1:3 - The pride of thy heart hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
  • Obadiah 1:4 - Though thou mount on high as the eagle, and though thy nest be set among the stars, I will bring thee down from thence, saith Jehovah.
  • Obadiah 1:5 - If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night (how art thou cut off!), would they not steal only till they had enough? if grape-gatherers came to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes?
  • Obadiah 1:6 - How are the things of Esau searched! how are his hidden treasures sought out!
  • Obadiah 1:7 - All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee on thy way, even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread lay a snare under thee: there is no understanding in him.
  • Obadiah 1:8 - Shall I not in that day, saith Jehovah, destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
  • Obadiah 1:9 - And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one may be cut off from the mount of Esau by slaughter.
  • Obadiah 1:10 - For the violence done to thy brother Jacob, shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
  • Obadiah 1:11 - In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that strangers carried away his substance, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.
  • Obadiah 1:12 - But look not thou on the day of thy brother in the day of his disaster, and rejoice not over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither speak proudly in the day of distress.
  • Obadiah 1:13 - Enter not into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, look not thou on their affliction in the day of their calamity, neither lay ye hands on their substance in the day of their calamity.
  • Obadiah 1:14 - And stand thou not in the crossway, to cut off those of his that escape; and deliver not up those of his that remain in the day of distress.
  • Ezekiel 35:1 - Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
  • Ezekiel 35:2 - Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,
  • Ezekiel 35:3 - and say unto it, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against thee, and I will make thee a desolation and an astonishment.
  • Ezekiel 35:4 - I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah.
  • Ezekiel 35:5 - Because thou hast had a perpetual enmity, and hast given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end;
  • Ezekiel 35:6 - therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: since thou hast not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue thee.
  • Ezekiel 35:7 - Thus will I make mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation; and I will cut off from it him that passeth through and him that returneth.
  • Ezekiel 35:8 - And I will fill its mountains with its slain: in thy hills and in thy valleys and in all thy watercourses shall they fall that are slain with the sword.
  • Ezekiel 35:9 - I will make thee a perpetual desolation, and thy cities shall not be inhabited; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.
  • Ezekiel 35:10 - Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas Jehovah was there:
  • Ezekiel 35:11 - therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast showed out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge thee.
  • Ezekiel 35:12 - And thou shalt know that I, Jehovah, have heard all thy revilings which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to devour.
  • Ezekiel 35:13 - And ye have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard it.
  • Ezekiel 35:14 - Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.
  • Ezekiel 35:15 - As thou didst rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.
  • Jeremiah 49:7 - Of Edom. Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished?
  • Jeremiah 49:8 - Flee ye, turn back, dwell in the depths, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I shall visit him.
  • Jeremiah 49:9 - If grape-gatherers came to thee, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? if thieves by night, would they not destroy till they had enough?
  • Jeremiah 49:10 - But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is destroyed, and his brethren, and his neighbors; and he is not.
  • Jeremiah 49:11 - Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.
  • Jeremiah 49:12 - For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, they to whom it pertained not to drink of the cup shall assuredly drink; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink.
  • Jeremiah 49:13 - For I have sworn by myself, saith Jehovah, that Bozrah shall become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.
  • Jeremiah 49:14 - I have heard tidings from Jehovah, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, Gather yourselves together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle.
  • Jeremiah 49:15 - For, behold, I have made thee small among the nations, and despised among men.
  • Jeremiah 49:16 - As for thy terribleness, the pride of thy heart hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith Jehovah.
  • Jeremiah 49:17 - And Edom shall become an astonishment: every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.
  • Jeremiah 49:18 - As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbor cities thereof, saith Jehovah, no man shall dwell there, neither shall any son of man sojourn therein.
  • Jeremiah 49:19 - Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run away from it; and whoso is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for who is like me? and who will appoint me a time? and who is the shepherd that will stand before me?
  • Jeremiah 49:20 - Therefore hear ye the counsel of Jehovah, that he hath taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he hath purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely they shall drag them away, even the little ones of the flock; surely he shall make their habitation desolate over them.
  • Jeremiah 49:21 - The earth trembleth at the noise of their fall; there is a cry, the noise whereof is heard in the Red Sea.
  • Jeremiah 49:22 - Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread out his wings against Bozrah: and the heart of the mighty men of Edom at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
  • Joel 3:19 - Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
  • Psalms 137:7 - Remember, O Jehovah, against the children of Edom The day of Jerusalem; Who said, Rase it, rase it, Even to the foundation thereof.
  • Numbers 20:14 - And Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:
  • Numbers 20:15 - how our fathers went down into Egypt, and we dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians dealt ill with us, and our fathers:
  • Numbers 20:16 - and when we cried unto Jehovah, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border.
  • Numbers 20:17 - Let us pass, I pray thee, through thy land: we will not pass through field or through vineyard, neither will we drink of the water of the wells; we will go along the king’s highway; we will not turn aside to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy border.
  • Numbers 20:18 - And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass through me, lest I come out with the sword against thee.
  • Numbers 20:19 - And the children of Israel said unto him, We will go up by the highway; and if we drink of thy water, I and my cattle, then will I give the price thereof: let me only, without doing anything else, pass through on my feet.
  • Numbers 20:20 - And he said, Thou shalt not pass through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.
  • Numbers 20:21 - Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.
  • Malachi 1:4 - Whereas Edom saith, We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places; thus saith Jehovah of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and men shall call them The border of wickedness, and The people against whom Jehovah hath indignation for ever.
  • 2 Chronicles 28:17 - For again the Edomites had come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives.
  • Ezekiel 25:12 - Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;
  • Ezekiel 25:13 - therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, I will stretch out my hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; even unto Dedan shall they fall by the sword.
  • Ezekiel 25:14 - And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my wrath; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord Jehovah.
