Esther 2:2 - Then the king’s servants who attended him said: “Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king;
Esther 2:3 - and let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather all the beautiful young virgins to Shushan the citadel, into the women’s quarters, under the custody of Hegai the king’s eunuch, custodian of the women. And let beauty preparations be given them.
Esther 2:4 - Then let the young woman who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti.” This thing pleased the king, and he did so.
Exodus 1:14 - And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage—in mortar, in brick, and in all manner of service in the field. All their service in which they made them serve was with rigor.
Exodus 5:5 - And Pharaoh said, “Look, the people of the land are many now, and you make them rest from their labor!”
Exodus 5:6 - So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying,
Exodus 5:7 - “You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves.
Exodus 5:8 - And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it. For they are idle; therefore they cry out, saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’
Exodus 5:9 - Let more work be laid on the men, that they may labor in it, and let them not regard false words.”
1 Kings 12:10 - Then the young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, “Thus you should speak to this people who have spoken to you, saying, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but you make it lighter on us’—thus you shall say to them: ‘My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s waist!
1 Kings 12:11 - And now, whereas my father put a heavy yoke on you, I will add to your yoke; my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scourges!’ ”
Exodus 5:16 - There is no straw given to your servants, and they say to us, ‘Make brick!’ And indeed your servants are beaten, but the fault is in your own people.”
Exodus 5:17 - But he said, “You are idle! Idle! Therefore you say, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’
Exodus 5:18 - Therefore go now and work; for no straw shall be given you, yet you shall deliver the quota of bricks.”
