  • 1 Chronicles 25:6 - All of these were under the supervision of their fathers; they were musicians in the Lord’s temple, playing cymbals and stringed instruments as they served in God’s temple. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the supervision of the king.

  • Ezra 3:10 - When the builders established the Lord’s temple, the priests, ceremonially attired and with their clarions, and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with their cymbals, stood to praise the Lord according to the instructions left by King David of Israel.
  • Ezra 3:11 - With antiphonal response they sang, praising and glorifying the Lord: “For he is good; his loyal love toward Israel is forever.” All the people gave a loud shout as they praised the Lord when the temple of the Lord was established.
  • Psalms 92:1 - It is fitting to thank the Lord, and to sing praises to your name, O sovereign One!
  • Psalms 92:2 - It is fitting to proclaim your loyal love in the morning, and your faithfulness during the night,
  • Psalms 92:3 - to the accompaniment of a ten-stringed instrument and a lyre, to the accompaniment of the meditative tone of the harp.
  • 1 Chronicles 9:33 - The musicians and Levite family leaders stayed in rooms at the sanctuary and were exempt from other duties, for day and night they had to carry out their assigned tasks.
