• Romans 7:25: I give thanks to God who saves me. He saves me through Jesus Christ our Lord. So in my mind I am a slave to God’s law. But sin controls my desires. So I am a slave to the law of sin.
• 1 Corinthians 4 7: Who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you brag as though you did not?
• Romans 10:5: Moses writes about how the law could help a person do what God requires. He writes,“ The person who does these things will live by them.”( Leviticus 18:5)
• Romans 9:32: Why not? Because they tried to do it without faith. They tried to be right with God by what they did. They tripped over the stone that causes people to trip and fall.
• Galatians 2:16: Here is what we know. No one is made right with God by obeying the law. It is by believing in Jesus Christ. So we too have put our faith in Christ Jesus. This is so we can be made right with God by believing in Christ. We are not made right by obeying the law. That’s because no one can be made right with God by obeying the law.
• Ephesians 2:8-10: God’s grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift.It is not based on anything you have done. No one can brag about earning it.We are God’s creation. He created us to belong to Christ Jesus. Now we can do good works. Long ago God prepared these works for us to do.
