Ruth 1:11-18
And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me?[ are] there yet[ any more] sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?Turn again, my daughters, go[ your way]; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope,[ if] I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD is gone out against me.And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee,[ or] to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people[ shall be] my people, and thy God my God:Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also,[ if ought] but death part thee and me.When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.

Joshua 24:15-22
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that[ were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods; For the LORD our God, he[ it is] that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:And the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land:[ therefore] will we also serve the LORD; for he[ is] our God.And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he[ is] an holy God; he[ is] a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.And Joshua said unto the people, Ye[ are] witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said,[ We are] witnesses.

2 Samuel 15 19-2 Samuel 15 20
Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and abide with the king: for thou[ art] a stranger, and also an exile.Whereas thou camest[ but] yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us? seeing I go whither I may, return thou, and take back thy brethren: mercy and truth[ be] with thee.

Luke 14:25-33
And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them,If any[ man] come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have[ sufficient] to finish[ it]?Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish[ it], all that behold[ it] begin to mock him,Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
