For the Lord had said of them,“ They shall certainly die in the wilderness.” And not a man was left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.

At his command they shall go out, and at his command they shall come in, both he and all the sons of Israel with him, all the congregation.”Then Moses did just as the Lord commanded him; he took Joshua and had him stand before Eleazar the priest and before all the congregation.Then he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, just as the Lord had spoken through Moses.
