The Message - Abraham didn’t focus on his own impotence and say, “It’s hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child.” Nor did he survey Sarah’s decades of infertility and give up. He didn’t tiptoe around God’s promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said. That’s why it is said, “Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right.” But it’s not just Abraham; it’s also us! The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless. The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God.

Jean 20:27 - Puis il dit à Thomas : Place ton doigt ici, vois mes mains ; avance ta main et mets-la dans mon côté. Ne sois donc pas incrédule, mais crois.

Hébreux 11:16 - En fait, c’est une meilleure patrie qu’ils désirent, c’est-à-dire la patrie céleste. Aussi Dieu n’a pas honte d’être appelé « leur Dieu », et il leur a préparé une cité.
Hébreux 11:17 - Par la foi, Abraham a offert Isaac lorsque Dieu l’a mis à l’épreuve. Oui, il était en train d’offrir son fils unique, lui qui avait eu la promesse,
Hébreux 11:18 - et à qui Dieu avait dit : C’est par Isaac que te sera suscitée une descendance .
Hébreux 11:19 - Dieu, estimait-il, est assez puissant pour ressusciter un mort. Et son fils lui a été rendu : c’est une préfiguration.
Genèse 17:17 - Alors Abraham se prosterna de nouveau la face contre terre, et il se mit à rire en se disant intérieurement : Eh quoi ! un homme centenaire peut-il encore avoir un enfant ? Et Sara, une femme de quatre-vingt-dix ans, peut-elle donner naissance à un enfant ?
