Luke 16:25 - But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things and Lazarus likewise bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in anguish.
Luke 16:26 - Besides all this, a great chasm has been fixed between us, so that those who want to cross over from here to you cannot do so, and no one can cross from there to us.’
Luke 16:27 - So the rich man said, ‘Then I beg you, father – send Lazarus to my father’s house
Luke 16:28 - (for I have five brothers) to warn them so that they don’t come into this place of torment.’
Luke 16:29 - But Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; they must respond to them.’
Luke 16:30 - Then the rich man said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
Luke 16:31 - He replied to him, ‘If they do not respond to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”
Job 33:11 - He puts my feet in shackles; he watches closely all my paths.’
1 Peter 2:21 - For to this you were called, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving an example for you to follow in his steps.
Galatians 4:22 - For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman.
Galatians 4:23 - But one, the son by the slave woman, was born by natural descent, while the other, the son by the free woman, was born through the promise.
Galatians 4:24 - These things may be treated as an allegory, for these women represent two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai bearing children for slavery; this is Hagar.
Galatians 4:25 - Now Hagar represents Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.
Galatians 4:26 - But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.
Galatians 4:27 - For it is written: “Rejoice, O barren woman who does not bear children; break forth and shout, you who have no birth pains, because the children of the desolate woman are more numerous than those of the woman who has a husband.”
Galatians 4:28 - But you, brothers and sisters, are children of the promise like Isaac.
Galatians 4:29 - But just as at that time the one born by natural descent persecuted the one born according to the Spirit, so it is now.
Galatians 4:30 - But what does the scripture say? “Throw out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman will not share the inheritance with the son” of the free woman.
Galatians 4:31 - Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman but of the free woman.
