พระคัมภีร์ ฉบับแปลใหม่ - และท่านในฐานะที่เป็นบิดาของพวกที่เข้าสุหนัตแล้ว คือพวกที่ไม่เพียงแต่เข้าสุหนัตเท่านั้น แต่เป็นบรรดาผู้ที่เดินตามรอยเท้าแห่งความเชื่อที่อับราฮัมบิดาของเรามีอยู่ ก่อนที่ท่านจะเข้าสุหนัตด้วย

Cantiques 1:8 - « Si tu ne le sais pas, ╵ô toi, la plus belle des femmes, va donc suivre les traces ╵du troupeau de brebis, fais paître tes chevrettes ╵près des huttes des pâtres. »
Romains 9:6 - Ce n’est pas que la Parole de Dieu soit restée sans effet ! Car ce ne sont pas tous ceux qui descendent du patriarche Israël qui constituent Israël ;
Romains 9:7 - et ceux qui descendent d’Abraham ne sont pas tous ses enfants. Car Dieu dit à Abraham : C’est par Isaac que te sera suscitée une descendance .
Matthieu 3:9 - Ne vous imaginez pas qu’il vous suffit de répéter en vous-mêmes : « Nous sommes les descendants d’Abraham ! » Car, regardez ces pierres : je vous déclare que Dieu peut en faire des enfants d’Abraham.
Jean 8:39 - – Notre père à nous, répondirent-ils, c’est Abraham. – Eh bien, leur répliqua Jésus, si vous étiez vraiment des enfants d’Abraham, vous agiriez comme lui .
Jean 8:40 - Au lieu de cela, vous cherchez à me faire mourir. Pourquoi ? Parce que je vous dis la vérité telle que je l’ai apprise de Dieu. Jamais Abraham n’a agi comme vous.
2 Corinthiens 12:18 - J’ai demandé à Tite d’aller chez vous et j’ai envoyé avec lui le frère dont j’ai parlé. Tite vous a-t-il exploités ? N’avons-nous pas marché tous deux dans le même esprit ? N’avons-nous pas suivi les mêmes traces ?
Proverbes 2:20 - Si tu écoutes mes conseils, tu marcheras sur le chemin des hommes de bien et tu suivras les sentiers des justes.
Luc 16:23 - Du séjour des morts, où il souffrait cruellement, il leva les yeux et aperçut, très loin, Abraham, et Lazare à côté de lui.
Luc 16:24 - Alors il s’écria : « Abraham, mon père, aie pitié de moi ! Envoie donc Lazare, qu’il trempe le bout de son doigt dans l’eau et me rafraîchisse la langue, car je souffre horriblement dans ces flammes. »
Luc 16:25 - Mais Abraham lui répondit : « Mon fils, souviens-toi de combien de bonnes choses tu as joui pendant ta vie, tandis que Lazare n’a connu que des malheurs. A présent, ici, c’est lui qui est consolé, tandis que toi, tu es dans les tourments.
Luc 16:26 - De plus, il y a maintenant un immense abîme entre nous et vous et, même si on le voulait, on ne pourrait ni le franchir pour aller d’ici vers vous, ni le traverser pour venir de chez vous ici.
Luc 16:27 - – Dans ce cas, dit alors le riche, je t’en conjure, père, envoie au moins Lazare dans la maison de mon père,
Luc 16:28 - car j’ai cinq frères ; qu’il les avertisse pour qu’ils n’aboutissent pas, eux aussi, dans ce lieu de tourments.
Luc 16:29 - – Tes frères ont les écrits de Moïse et des prophètes, lui répondit Abraham ; qu’ils les écoutent !
Luc 16:30 - – Non, père Abraham, reprit l’autre. Mais si quelqu’un revient du séjour des morts et va les trouver, ils changeront. »
Luc 16:31 - Mais Abraham répliqua : « S’ils n’écoutent ni Moïse ni les prophètes, ils ne se laisseront pas davantage convaincre par un mort revenant à la vie ! »
Job 33:11 - il a mis mes pieds dans des fers et il surveille tous mes pas. »
1 Pierre 2:21 - C’est à cela que Dieu vous a appelés, car Christ aussi a souffert pour vous, vous laissant un exemple, pour que vous suiviez ses traces.
Galates 4:22 - Il y est écrit qu’Abraham a eu deux fils, l’un d’une esclave, et l’autre d’une femme libre .
Galates 4:23 - Le fils de l’esclave a été conçu de manière purement humaine. Alors que le fils de la femme libre a été donné à Abraham en vertu d’une promesse divine .
Galates 4:24 - Il y a là une analogie : ces deux femmes représentent deux alliances. L’une de ces alliances, conclue sur le mont Sinaï, donne naissance à des enfants esclaves, c’est Agar qui la représente.
Galates 4:25 - Certes, cette « Agar Mont Sinaï » est en Arabie, mais elle correspond à la Jérusalem actuelle, car celle-ci vit dans l’esclavage avec tous ses enfants.
Galates 4:26 - Mais la Jérusalem d’en haut est libre. C’est elle qui est notre mère.
Galates 4:27 - Car il est écrit : Réjouis-toi, femme stérile, toi qui n’as pas enfanté, pousse des cris de joie, toi qui ignores les douleurs de l’enfantement. Car les enfants de la délaissée seront plus nombreux que ceux de la femme mariée .
Galates 4:28 - Or vous, frères et sœurs, vous êtes les enfants de la promesse, comme Isaac.
Galates 4:29 - Mais, autrefois, le fils conçu de manière simplement humaine persécutait le fils né par l’intervention de l’Esprit, et il en est de même aujourd’hui.
Galates 4:30 - Or, que dit l’Ecriture ? Renvoie l’esclave avec son fils, car le fils de l’esclave n’aura aucune part à l’héritage avec le fils de la femme libre .
Galates 4:31 - Ainsi, mes frères et sœurs, nous ne sommes pas les enfants d’une esclave, mais de la femme libre.
