  • 1 Chronicles 16:4 - He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord and to profess [God’s name] and to thank and praise the Lord, the God of Israel:
  • 1 Chronicles 16:5 - Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then Jeiel (Jaaziel), Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel with musical instruments, harps and lyres; also Asaph played loud-sounding cymbals;
  • 1 Chronicles 16:6 - and Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests blew trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of God.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:7 - Then on that day David first entrusted to Asaph and his relatives to give thanks to the Lord [as their chief task].

  • 1 Chronicles 16:15 - Be mindful of His covenant forever, The promise which He commanded and established to a thousand generations,
  • 1 Chronicles 16:16 - The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath (sworn promise) to Isaac.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:17 - He confirmed it as a statute to Jacob, And to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
  • 1 Chronicles 16:18 - Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan, As the portion of your possession and inheritance.”
  • 1 Chronicles 16:19 - When you were few in number, Even a very few, and strangers in it,
  • 1 Chronicles 16:20 - When they wandered from nation to nation, And from one kingdom to another people,
  • 1 Chronicles 16:21 - He allowed no man to oppress or exploit them, And, He reproved and punished kings for their sakes, saying,
  • 1 Chronicles 16:22 - “Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.”
  • 1 Chronicles 16:23 - Sing to the Lord, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:24 - Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all peoples.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:25 - For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared [with awe-filled reverence] above all gods.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:26 - For all the gods of the peoples are [lifeless] idols, But the Lord made the heavens.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:27 - Splendor and majesty are [found] in His presence; Strength and joy are [found] in His place (sanctuary).

  • 2 Samuel 22:35 - He trains my hands for war, So that my arms can bend (pull back) a bow of bronze.
  • 2 Samuel 22:36 - You have also given me the shield of Your salvation, And Your help and gentleness make me great.
  • 2 Samuel 22:37 - You enlarge my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.
  • 2 Samuel 22:38 - I pursued my enemies and destroyed them, And I did not turn back until they were consumed (eliminated).
  • 2 Samuel 22:39 - I consumed them and shattered them, so that they did not rise; They fell under my feet.
  • 2 Samuel 22:40 - For You have surrounded me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who stood against me.
  • 2 Samuel 22:41 - You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me [in retreat], And I destroyed those who hated me.
  • 2 Samuel 22:42 - They looked, but there was no savior for them— Even to the Lord [they looked], but He did not answer them.
  • 2 Samuel 22:43 - Then I beat them as [small as] the dust of the earth; I crushed and stamped them as the mire (dirt, mud) of the streets.
  • 2 Samuel 22:44 - You also have rescued me from strife with my [own] people; You have kept me as the head of the nations. People whom I have not known served me.
  • 2 Samuel 22:45 - Foreigners pretend obedience to me; As soon as they hear [me], they obey me.
  • 2 Samuel 22:46 - Foreigners lose heart; They come trembling out of their strongholds.
  • 2 Samuel 22:47 - The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock, And exalted be my God, the rock of my salvation.
  • 2 Samuel 22:48 - It is God who executes vengeance for me, And brings down [and disciplines] the peoples under me,
  • 2 Samuel 22:49 - Who also brings me out from my enemies. You even lift me above those who rise up against me; You rescue me from the violent man.
