  • Luke 15:27 - ‘Your brother is back,’ he was told, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf. We are celebrating because of his safe return.’

  • Luke 15:29 - but he replied, ‘All these years I’ve slaved for you and never once refused to do a single thing you told me to. And in all that time you never gave me even one young goat for a feast with my friends.

  • Romans 12:1 - And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
  • Hebrews 13:16 - And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.
  • Luke 18:11 - The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer : ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector!
  • Luke 18:12 - I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’

  • Amos 5:21 - “I hate all your show and pretense— the hypocrisy of your religious festivals and solemn assemblies.
  • Mark 12:33 - And I know it is important to love him with all my heart and all my understanding and all my strength, and to love my neighbor as myself. This is more important than to offer all of the burnt offerings and sacrifices required in the law.”
  • Psalms 147:3 - He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.
  • Psalms 107:22 - Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and sing joyfully about his glorious acts.
  • Matthew 5:3 - “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
  • 2 Chronicles 33:12 - But while in deep distress, Manasseh sought the Lord his God and sincerely humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.
  • 2 Chronicles 33:13 - And when he prayed, the Lord listened to him and was moved by his request. So the Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh finally realized that the Lord alone is God!
