  • Esther 8:15 - Then Mordecai left the king’s presence, wearing the royal robe of blue and white, the great crown of gold, and an outer cloak of fine linen and purple. And the people of Susa celebrated the new decree.
  • Esther 8:16 - The Jews were filled with joy and gladness and were honored everywhere.
  • Esther 8:17 - In every province and city, wherever the king’s decree arrived, the Jews rejoiced and had a great celebration and declared a public festival and holiday. And many of the people of the land became Jews themselves, for they feared what the Jews might do to them.

  • 2 Chronicles 30:23 - The entire assembly then decided to continue the festival another seven days, so they celebrated joyfully for another week.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:24 - King Hezekiah gave the people 1,000 bulls and 7,000 sheep and goats for offerings, and the officials donated 1,000 bulls and 10,000 sheep and goats. Meanwhile, many more priests purified themselves.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:25 - The entire assembly of Judah rejoiced, including the priests, the Levites, all who came from the land of Israel, the foreigners who came to the festival, and all those who lived in Judah.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:26 - There was great joy in the city, for Jerusalem had not seen a celebration like this one since the days of Solomon, King David’s son.
  • 2 Chronicles 30:27 - Then the priests and Levites stood and blessed the people, and God heard their prayer from his holy dwelling in heaven.

  • 1 Chronicles 16:15 - Remember his covenant forever— the commitment he made to a thousand generations.

  • 1 Chronicles 16:17 - He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, and to the people of Israel as a never-ending covenant:
  • 1 Chronicles 16:18 - “I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession.”
  • 1 Chronicles 16:19 - He said this when you were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:20 - They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:21 - Yet he did not let anyone oppress them. He warned kings on their behalf:
  • 1 Chronicles 16:22 - “Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.”
  • 1 Chronicles 16:23 - Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:24 - Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:25 - Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:26 - The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the Lord made the heavens!
  • 1 Chronicles 16:27 - Honor and majesty surround him; strength and joy fill his dwelling.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:28 - O nations of the world, recognize the Lord, recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:29 - Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his presence. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:30 - Let all the earth tremble before him. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:31 - Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice! Tell all the nations, “The Lord reigns!”
  • 1 Chronicles 16:32 - Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!
  • 1 Chronicles 16:33 - Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for he is coming to judge the earth.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:34 - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
  • 1 Chronicles 16:35 - Cry out, “Save us, O God of our salvation! Gather and rescue us from among the nations, so we can thank your holy name and rejoice and praise you.”
  • 1 Chronicles 16:36 - Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting! And all the people shouted “Amen!” and praised the Lord.
  • 2 Chronicles 7:10 - Then at the end of the celebration, Solomon sent the people home. They were all joyful and glad because the Lord had been so good to David and to Solomon and to his people Israel.
  • 1 Samuel 24:11 - Look, my father, at what I have in my hand. It is a piece of the hem of your robe! I cut it off, but I didn’t kill you. This proves that I am not trying to harm you and that I have not sinned against you, even though you have been hunting for me to kill me.

  • 1 Kings 17:8 - Then the Lord said to Elijah,
  • 1 Kings 17:9 - “Go and live in the village of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. I have instructed a widow there to feed you.”
  • 1 Kings 17:10 - So he went to Zarephath. As he arrived at the gates of the village, he saw a widow gathering sticks, and he asked her, “Would you please bring me a little water in a cup?”
  • 1 Kings 17:11 - As she was going to get it, he called to her, “Bring me a bite of bread, too.”
  • 1 Kings 17:12 - But she said, “I swear by the Lord your God that I don’t have a single piece of bread in the house. And I have only a handful of flour left in the jar and a little cooking oil in the bottom of the jug. I was just gathering a few sticks to cook this last meal, and then my son and I will die.”
  • 1 Kings 17:13 - But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son.
  • 1 Kings 17:14 - For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again!”
  • 1 Kings 17:15 - So she did as Elijah said, and she and Elijah and her family continued to eat for many days.
  • 1 Kings 17:16 - There was always enough flour and olive oil left in the containers, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah.
  • 1 Kings 17:17 - Some time later the woman’s son became sick. He grew worse and worse, and finally he died.
  • 1 Kings 17:18 - Then she said to Elijah, “O man of God, what have you done to me? Have you come here to point out my sins and kill my son?”
  • 1 Kings 17:19 - But Elijah replied, “Give me your son.” And he took the child’s body from her arms, carried him up the stairs to the room where he was staying, and laid the body on his bed.
  • 1 Kings 17:20 - Then Elijah cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, why have you brought tragedy to this widow who has opened her home to me, causing her son to die?”
  • 1 Kings 17:21 - And he stretched himself out over the child three times and cried out to the Lord, “O Lord my God, please let this child’s life return to him.”
  • 1 Kings 17:22 - The Lord heard Elijah’s prayer, and the life of the child returned, and he revived!
  • 1 Kings 17:23 - Then Elijah brought him down from the upper room and gave him to his mother. “Look!” he said. “Your son is alive!”
  • 1 Kings 17:24 - Then the woman told Elijah, “Now I know for sure that you are a man of God, and that the Lord truly speaks through you.”
  • Jeremiah 5:1 - “Run up and down every street in Jerusalem,” says the Lord. “Look high and low; search throughout the city! If you can find even one just and honest person, I will not destroy the city.
  • Ecclesiastes 10:16 - What sorrow for the land ruled by a servant, the land whose leaders feast in the morning.
  • 1 Chronicles 15:25 - Then David and the elders of Israel and the generals of the army went to the house of Obed-edom to bring the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant up to Jerusalem with a great celebration.
  • 1 Chronicles 15:26 - And because God was clearly helping the Levites as they carried the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
  • 1 Chronicles 15:27 - David was dressed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who carried the Ark, and also the singers, and Kenaniah the choir leader. David was also wearing a priestly garment.
  • 1 Chronicles 15:28 - So all Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant with shouts of joy, the blowing of rams’ horns and trumpets, the crashing of cymbals, and loud playing on harps and lyres.
  • 1 Chronicles 29:20 - Then David said to the whole assembly, “Give praise to the Lord your God!” And the entire assembly praised the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they bowed low and knelt before the Lord and the king.
  • 1 Chronicles 29:21 - The next day they brought 1,000 bulls, 1,000 rams, and 1,000 male lambs as burnt offerings to the Lord. They also brought liquid offerings and many other sacrifices on behalf of all Israel.
