  • Ezekiel 22:2 - Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.

  • Ezekiel 16:2 - Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
  • Ezekiel 16:3 - And say, Thus saith the Lord God unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.
  • Ezekiel 16:4 - And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.

  • Ezekiel 16:16 - And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.
  • Ezekiel 16:17 - Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,
  • Ezekiel 16:18 - And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.
  • Ezekiel 16:19 - My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord God.
  • Ezekiel 16:20 - Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,
  • Ezekiel 16:21 - That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?
  • Ezekiel 16:22 - And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.
  • Ezekiel 16:23 - And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord God;)
  • Ezekiel 16:24 - That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.
  • Ezekiel 16:25 - Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.
  • Ezekiel 16:26 - Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.
  • Ezekiel 16:27 - Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.
  • Ezekiel 16:28 - Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.
  • Ezekiel 16:29 - Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.
  • Ezekiel 16:30 - How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord God, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;
  • Ezekiel 16:31 - In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;
  • Ezekiel 16:32 - But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!
  • Ezekiel 16:33 - They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.
  • Ezekiel 16:34 - And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.
  • Ezekiel 16:35 - Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord:
  • Ezekiel 16:36 - Thus saith the Lord God; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;
  • Ezekiel 16:37 - Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
  • Ezekiel 16:38 - And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
  • Ezekiel 16:39 - And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
  • Ezekiel 16:40 - They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.
  • Ezekiel 16:41 - And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.
  • Ezekiel 16:42 - So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
  • Ezekiel 16:43 - Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord God: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.
  • Ezekiel 16:44 - Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

  • Ezekiel 16:49 - Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

  • Ezekiel 16:54 - That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.
  • Ezekiel 16:55 - When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.

  • Deuteronomy 29:19 - And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
  • Deuteronomy 29:20 - The Lord will not spare him, but then the anger of the Lord and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the Lord shall blot out his name from under heaven.

  • Deuteronomy 28:2 - And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
  • Deuteronomy 28:3 - Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
  • Deuteronomy 28:4 - Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
  • Deuteronomy 28:5 - Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
  • Deuteronomy 28:6 - Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
  • Deuteronomy 28:7 - The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
  • Deuteronomy 28:8 - The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:9 - The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.
  • Deuteronomy 28:10 - And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:11 - And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:12 - The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
  • Deuteronomy 28:13 - And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
  • Deuteronomy 28:14 - And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
  • Deuteronomy 28:15 - But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
  • Deuteronomy 28:16 - Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
  • Deuteronomy 28:17 - Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
  • Deuteronomy 28:18 - Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
  • Deuteronomy 28:19 - Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
  • Deuteronomy 28:20 - The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
  • Deuteronomy 28:21 - The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
  • Deuteronomy 28:22 - The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

  • Deuteronomy 28:27 - The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
  • Deuteronomy 28:28 - The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
  • Deuteronomy 28:29 - And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:30 - Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
  • Deuteronomy 28:31 - Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
  • Deuteronomy 28:32 - Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.

  • Ezekiel 22:2 - Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.

  • Ezekiel 16:13 - Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.
  • Ezekiel 16:14 - And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.
  • Ezekiel 16:15 - But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.
  • Ezekiel 16:16 - And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.
  • Ezekiel 16:17 - Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,
  • Ezekiel 16:18 - And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.
  • Ezekiel 16:19 - My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord God.
  • Ezekiel 16:20 - Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,
  • Ezekiel 16:21 - That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?
  • Ezekiel 16:22 - And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.
  • Ezekiel 16:23 - And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord God;)
  • Ezekiel 16:24 - That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.
  • Ezekiel 16:25 - Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.
  • Ezekiel 16:26 - Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.
  • Ezekiel 16:27 - Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.
  • Ezekiel 16:28 - Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.
  • Ezekiel 16:29 - Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.
  • Ezekiel 16:30 - How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord God, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;
  • Ezekiel 16:31 - In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;
  • Ezekiel 16:32 - But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!
  • Ezekiel 16:33 - They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.
  • Ezekiel 16:34 - And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.
  • Ezekiel 16:35 - Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord:
  • Ezekiel 16:36 - Thus saith the Lord God; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;
  • Ezekiel 16:37 - Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
  • Ezekiel 16:38 - And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
  • Ezekiel 16:39 - And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
  • Ezekiel 16:40 - They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.
  • Ezekiel 16:41 - And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.
  • Ezekiel 16:42 - So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
  • Ezekiel 16:43 - Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord God: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.
  • Ezekiel 16:44 - Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.
  • Ezekiel 16:45 - Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
  • Ezekiel 16:46 - And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.
  • Ezekiel 16:47 - Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.
  • Ezekiel 16:48 - As I live, saith the Lord God, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.
  • Ezekiel 16:49 - Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
  • Ezekiel 16:50 - And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.
  • Ezekiel 16:51 - Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.
  • Ezekiel 16:52 - Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.
  • Ezekiel 16:53 - When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them:
  • Ezekiel 16:54 - That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them.
  • Ezekiel 16:55 - When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.
  • Ezekiel 16:56 - For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,
  • Ezekiel 16:57 - Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.
  • Ezekiel 16:58 - Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the Lord.
  • Ezekiel 16:59 - For thus saith the Lord God; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
  • Ezekiel 16:60 - Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.
  • Ezekiel 16:61 - Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.
  • Ezekiel 16:62 - And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord:
  • Ezekiel 16:63 - That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord God.
  • Jeremiah 2:2 - Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
  • Jeremiah 2:3 - Israel was holiness unto the Lord, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the Lord.
  • Jeremiah 2:4 - Hear ye the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:
  • Jeremiah 2:5 - Thus saith the Lord, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
  • Jeremiah 2:6 - Neither said they, Where is the Lord that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
  • Jeremiah 2:7 - And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.
  • Jeremiah 2:8 - The priests said not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
  • Jeremiah 2:9 - Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the Lord, and with your children's children will I plead.
  • Jeremiah 2:10 - For pass over the isles of Kittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing.
  • Jeremiah 2:11 - Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
  • Jeremiah 2:12 - Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord.
  • Jeremiah 2:13 - For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
  • Jeremiah 2:14 - Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled?
  • Jeremiah 2:15 - The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.
  • Jeremiah 2:16 - Also the children of Memphis and Tahpanhes have broken the crown of thy head.
  • Jeremiah 2:17 - Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, when he led thee by the way?
  • Jeremiah 2:18 - And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?
  • Jeremiah 2:19 - Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord God of hosts.
  • Jeremiah 2:20 - For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.
  • Jeremiah 2:21 - Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?
  • Jeremiah 2:22 - For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord God.
  • Jeremiah 2:23 - How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;
  • Jeremiah 2:24 - A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.
  • Jeremiah 2:25 - Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.
  • Hosea 13:1 - When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.
  • Deuteronomy 4:6 - Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
  • Deuteronomy 4:7 - For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
  • Deuteronomy 4:8 - And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?
  • Deuteronomy 29:18 - Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
  • Deuteronomy 29:19 - And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
  • Deuteronomy 29:20 - The Lord will not spare him, but then the anger of the Lord and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the Lord shall blot out his name from under heaven.
  • Deuteronomy 29:21 - And the Lord shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:
  • Deuteronomy 29:22 - So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the Lord hath laid upon it;
  • Deuteronomy 29:23 - And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
  • Deuteronomy 29:24 - Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the Lord done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
  • Deuteronomy 29:25 - Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:
  • Deuteronomy 29:26 - For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:
  • Deuteronomy 29:27 - And the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:
  • Deuteronomy 29:28 - And the Lord rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.
  • Deuteronomy 28:1 - And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
  • Deuteronomy 28:2 - And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
  • Deuteronomy 28:3 - Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
  • Deuteronomy 28:4 - Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
  • Deuteronomy 28:5 - Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
  • Deuteronomy 28:6 - Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
  • Deuteronomy 28:7 - The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
  • Deuteronomy 28:8 - The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:9 - The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways.
  • Deuteronomy 28:10 - And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:11 - And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:12 - The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
  • Deuteronomy 28:13 - And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
  • Deuteronomy 28:14 - And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
  • Deuteronomy 28:15 - But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
  • Deuteronomy 28:16 - Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
  • Deuteronomy 28:17 - Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
  • Deuteronomy 28:18 - Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
  • Deuteronomy 28:19 - Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
  • Deuteronomy 28:20 - The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
  • Deuteronomy 28:21 - The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
  • Deuteronomy 28:22 - The Lord shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
  • Deuteronomy 28:23 - And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
  • Deuteronomy 28:24 - The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
  • Deuteronomy 28:25 - The Lord shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
  • Deuteronomy 28:26 - And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
  • Deuteronomy 28:27 - The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
  • Deuteronomy 28:28 - The Lord shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
  • Deuteronomy 28:29 - And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:30 - Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
  • Deuteronomy 28:31 - Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
  • Deuteronomy 28:32 - Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
  • Deuteronomy 28:33 - The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
  • Deuteronomy 28:34 - So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
  • Deuteronomy 28:35 - The Lord shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
  • Deuteronomy 28:36 - The Lord shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
  • Deuteronomy 28:37 - And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the Lord shall lead thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:38 - Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
  • Deuteronomy 28:39 - Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
  • Deuteronomy 28:40 - Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
  • Deuteronomy 28:41 - Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
  • Deuteronomy 28:42 - All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.
  • Deuteronomy 28:43 - The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
  • Deuteronomy 28:44 - He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
  • Deuteronomy 28:45 - Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
  • Deuteronomy 28:46 - And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
  • Deuteronomy 28:47 - Because thou servedst not the Lord thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
  • Deuteronomy 28:48 - Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the Lord shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:49 - The Lord shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
  • Deuteronomy 28:50 - A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
  • Deuteronomy 28:51 - And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:52 - And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the Lord thy God hath given thee.
  • Deuteronomy 28:53 - And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the Lord thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
  • Deuteronomy 28:54 - So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
  • Deuteronomy 28:55 - So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
  • Deuteronomy 28:56 - The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
  • Deuteronomy 28:57 - And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
  • Deuteronomy 28:58 - If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE Lord THY GOD;
  • Deuteronomy 28:59 - Then the Lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
  • Deuteronomy 28:60 - Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.

  • Deuteronomy 28:64 - And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
  • Deuteronomy 28:65 - And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
  • Deuteronomy 28:66 - And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
  • Deuteronomy 28:67 - In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
  • Deuteronomy 28:68 - And the Lord shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
