Esra 4:13 - Wir geben dem König zu bedenken, dass die Bewohner keinen Tribut, keine Steuern und keine Zölle mehr zahlen werden, sobald die Mauern dieser Stadt wieder stehen. Das Königshaus wird großen Schaden nehmen.
Esra 4:14 - Weil wir aber treue Untertanen und dem König verpflichtet sind, können wir nicht länger mit ansehen, wie die Macht des Königs untergraben wird. Darum erstatten wir Bericht und schlagen vor:
Römer 13:6 - Die Vertreter des Staates üben ihren Dienst im Auftrag Gottes aus, deshalb zahlt ihr ja auch Steuern.

1. Korinther 9:8 - Das ist nicht nur allgemein so üblich, das schreibt auch das Gesetz von Mose vor.
1. Korinther 9:9 - Dort heißt es doch: »Wenn ihr mit einem Ochsen Getreide drescht, dann bindet ihm nicht das Maul zu!« Hat Gott dies etwa angeordnet, weil er sich um die Ochsen sorgt?
1. Korinther 9:10 - Ohne Frage dachte er dabei an uns! Denn wir sind gemeint, wenn es dort heißt, dass alle, die pflügen und das Getreide dreschen, ihren Anteil an der Ernte erwarten dürfen.
1. Korinther 9:11 - Wir haben unter euch die geistliche Saat ausgesät – die Botschaft von Jesus Christus. Wäre es da wirklich zu viel verlangt, wenn wir dafür auch etwas ernten dürften, indem ihr uns nämlich mit dem versorgt, was wir zum Leben brauchen?
1. Korinther 9:12 - Ihr unterstützt doch auch noch andere Prediger, und das ist richtig so. Aber hätten wir nicht ein größeres Anrecht darauf? Dennoch haben wir von diesem Recht nie Gebrauch gemacht. Wir haben auf alle Ansprüche verzichtet, um der Botschaft von Jesus Christus keine Steine in den Weg zu legen.
1. Korinther 9:13 - Ihr wisst doch genau, dass alle, die im Tempel Dienst tun, etwas von den Einkünften des Tempels bekommen. Und wer am Altar den Opferdienst übernimmt, erhält auch einen Teil von den Opfergaben.
1. Korinther 9:14 - Ebenso hat der Herr angeordnet: Wer die rettende Botschaft verkündet, soll von diesem Dienst auch leben können.
1. Korinther 9:15 - Trotzdem habe ich darauf verzichtet und nichts von alledem verlangt. Ich schreibe das nicht, weil ich in Zukunft etwas von euch haben möchte. Lieber würde ich verhungern, als dass ich mir meinen Grund, mich zu rühmen, von irgendjemand nehmen ließe.
1. Korinther 9:18 - Habe ich dann überhaupt einen Lohn zu erwarten? Ja! Er besteht darin, dass ich jedem die Botschaft von Jesus verkünde, und zwar ohne Bezahlung und ohne auf meine Rechte zu pochen.
Nehemia 2:1 - Vier Monate waren seither vergangen. Eines Tages, als ich König Artaxerxes beim Essen Wein einschenkte und ihm den Becher reichte, fiel ihm auf, dass ich traurig aussah. Das war der König bei mir nicht gewohnt,

Nehemia 13:6 - Zu dieser Zeit hielt ich mich nicht in Jerusalem auf, denn im 32. Regierungsjahr des persischen Königs Artaxerxes war ich an seinen Hof zurückgekehrt. Einige Zeit später bat ich den König, wieder nach Jerusalem gehen zu dürfen.
