  • Nehemiah 13:17 - Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said to them, “What evil thing is this that you do, by which you profane the Sabbath day?
  • Nehemiah 13:18 - Did not your fathers do thus, and did not our God bring all this disaster on us and on this city? Yet you bring added wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath.”
  • Nehemiah 13:19 - So it was, at the gates of Jerusalem, as it began to be dark before the Sabbath, that I commanded the gates to be shut, and charged that they must not be opened till after the Sabbath. Then I posted some of my servants at the gates, so that no burdens would be brought in on the Sabbath day.
  • Nehemiah 13:20 - Now the merchants and sellers of all kinds of wares lodged outside Jerusalem once or twice.
  • Nehemiah 13:21 - Then I warned them, and said to them, “Why do you spend the night around the wall? If you do so again, I will lay hands on you!” From that time on they came no more on the Sabbath.
  • Nehemiah 13:22 - And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should go and guard the gates, to sanctify the Sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of Your mercy!
  • Isaiah 56:2 - Blessed is the man who does this, And the son of man who lays hold on it; Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
  • Matthew 7:3 - And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?
  • Matthew 7:4 - Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?
  • Matthew 7:5 - Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
  • Mark 2:16 - And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”
  • Exodus 35:2 - Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh day shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.
  • Exodus 35:3 - You shall kindle no fire throughout your dwellings on the Sabbath day.”
  • Exodus 20:10 - but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
