  • Matthew 28:3 - His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
  • Matthew 28:4 - The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
  • Matthew 28:5 - The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
  • Matthew 28:6 - He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
  • Matthew 28:7 - Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
  • Matthew 28:8 - So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
  • Matthew 28:9 - Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
  • Matthew 28:10 - Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”
  • John 19:31 - Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down.
  • Mark 16:8 - Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
  • Mark 15:47 - Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where he was laid.
  • John 20:1 - Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.
  • John 20:2 - So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”
  • John 20:3 - So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb.
  • John 20:4 - Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.
  • John 20:5 - He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in.
  • John 20:6 - Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there,
  • John 20:7 - as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen.
  • John 20:8 - Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.
  • John 20:9 - (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)
  • John 20:10 - Then the disciples went back to where they were staying.
  • Mark 15:40 - Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph, and Salome.
