Matthew 26:10 - But Jesus, aware [of the malice] of this [remark], said to them, “Why are you bothering the woman? She has done a good thing to Me.
Matthew 26:11 - For you always have the poor with you; but you will not always have Me.
Matthew 26:12 - When she poured this perfume on My body, she did it to prepare Me for burial.
Matthew 26:13 - I assure you and most solemnly say to you, wherever this gospel [of salvation] is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told in memory of her [for her act of love and devotion].”

John 12:5 - “Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii and [the money] given to the poor?”
John 12:6 - Now he said this, not because he cared about the poor [for he had never cared about them], but because he was a thief; and since he had the money box [serving as treasurer for the twelve disciples], he used to pilfer what was put into it.
John 12:7 - So Jesus said, “Let her alone, so that she may keep [the rest of] it for the day of My burial.
John 12:8 - You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me.”
