John 19:4 - Once more Pilate came out. He said to the Jews gathered there, “Look, I am bringing Jesus out to you. I want to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him.”
Mark 15:29 - Those who passed by shouted at Jesus and made fun of him. They shook their heads and said, “So you are going to destroy the temple and build it again in three days?
Mark 15:30 - Then come down from the cross! Save yourself!”
Mark 15:31 - In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law made fun of him among themselves. “He saved others,” they said. “But he can’t save himself!
Psalm 35:16 - Like ungodly people, they were mean and made fun of me. They ground their teeth at me in hate.
Psalm 22:7 - All those who see me laugh at me. They shout at me and make fun of me. They shake their heads at me.
Psalm 22:8 - They say, “He trusts in the Lord. Let the Lord help him. If the Lord is pleased with him, let him save him.”
Luke 23:1 - Then the whole group got up and led Jesus off to Pilate.
Luke 23:2 - They began to bring charges against Jesus. They said, “We have found this man misleading our people. He is against paying taxes to Caesar. And he claims to be Messiah, a king.”
Luke 23:3 - So Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.
Luke 23:4 - Then Pilate spoke to the chief priests and the crowd. He announced, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”
Luke 23:5 - But they kept it up. They said, “His teaching stirs up the people all over Judea. He started in Galilee and has come all the way here.”
John 18:28 - Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning. The Jewish leaders did not want to be made “unclean.” They wanted to be able to eat the Passover meal. So they did not enter the palace.
John 18:29 - Pilate came out to them. He asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”
John 18:30 - “He has committed crimes,” they replied. “If he hadn’t, we would not have handed him over to you.”
John 18:31 - Pilate said, “Take him yourselves. Judge him by your own law.” “But we don’t have the right to put anyone to death,” they complained.
John 18:32 - This happened so that what Jesus said about how he was going to die would come true.
John 18:33 - Then Pilate went back inside the palace. He ordered Jesus to be brought to him. Pilate asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
John 18:34 - “Is that your own idea?” Jesus asked. “Or did others talk to you about me?”
John 18:35 - “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. What have you done?”
John 18:36 - Jesus said, “My kingdom is not from this world. If it were, those who serve me would fight. They would try to keep the Jewish leaders from arresting me. My kingdom is from another place.”
John 18:37 - “So you are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, that’s the reason I was born. I was born and came into the world to be a witness to the truth. Everyone who is on the side of truth listens to me.”
John 18:38 - “What is truth?” Pilate replied. Then Pilate went out again to the Jews gathered there. He said, “I find no basis for any charge against him.
Acts 3:13 - The God of our fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, has done this. God has brought glory to Jesus, who serves him. But you handed Jesus over to be killed. Pilate had decided to let him go. But you spoke against Jesus when he was in Pilate’s court.
Acts 3:14 - You spoke against the Holy and Blameless One. You asked for a murderer to be set free instead.
Acts 3:15 - You killed the one who gives life. But God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.
Acts 3:16 - This man whom you see and know was made strong because of faith in Jesus’ name. Faith in Jesus has healed him completely. You can see it with your own eyes.
Matthew 26:67 - Then they spit in his face. They hit him with their fists. Others slapped him.
Matthew 26:68 - They said, “Prophesy to us, Messiah! Who hit you?”
Acts 4:27 - In fact, Herod and Pontius Pilate met with the Gentiles in this city. They also met with the people of Israel. All of them made plans against your holy servant Jesus. He is the one you anointed.
Matthew 12:40 - Jonah was in the belly of a huge fish for three days and three nights. Something like that will happen to the Son of Man. He will spend three days and three nights in the grave.
Matthew 27:2 - So they tied him up and led him away. Then they handed him over to Pilate, who was the governor.
Matthew 27:3 - Judas, who had handed him over, saw that Jesus had been sentenced to die. He felt deep shame and sadness for what he had done. So he returned the 30 silver coins to the chief priests and the elders.
Matthew 27:4 - “I have sinned,” he said. “I handed over a man who is not guilty.” “What do we care?” they replied. “That’s your problem.”
Matthew 27:5 - So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
Matthew 27:6 - The chief priests picked up the coins. They said, “It’s against the law to put this money into the temple fund. It is blood money. It has paid for a man’s death.”
Matthew 27:7 - So they decided to use the money to buy a potter’s field. People from other countries would be buried there.
Matthew 27:8 - That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
Matthew 27:9 - Then the words spoken by Jeremiah the prophet came true. He had said, “They took the 30 silver coins. That price was set for him by the people of Israel.
Matthew 27:10 - They used the coins to buy a potter’s field, just as the Lord commanded me.” ( Zechariah 11:12 , 13 ; Jeremiah 19:1–13 ; 32:6–9 )
Acts 21:11 - He came over to us. Then he took Paul’s belt and tied his own hands and feet with it. He said, “The Holy Spirit says, ‘This is how the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem will tie up the owner of this belt. They will hand him over to the Gentiles.’ ”
Isaiah 26:19 - Lord, your people who have died will live again. Their bodies will rise from the dead. Let those who lie in the grave wake up and shout for joy. You give life, Lord, like the dew of the morning. So the earth will give up its dead people.
1 Corinthians 15:3 - What I received I passed on to you. And it is the most important of all. Here is what it is. Christ died for our sins, just as Scripture said he would.
1 Corinthians 15:4 - He was buried. He was raised from the dead on the third day, just as Scripture said he would be.
1 Corinthians 15:5 - He appeared to Peter. Then he appeared to the 12 apostles.
1 Corinthians 15:6 - After that, he appeared to more than 500 brothers and sisters at the same time. Most of them are still living. But some have died.
1 Corinthians 15:7 - He appeared to James. Then he appeared to all the apostles.
Matthew 27:27 - The governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the palace, which was called the Praetorium. All the rest of the soldiers gathered around him.
Matthew 27:28 - They took off his clothes and put a purple robe on him.
Matthew 27:29 - Then they twisted thorns together to make a crown. They placed it on his head. They put a stick in his right hand. Then they fell on their knees in front of him and made fun of him. “We honor you, king of the Jews!” they said.
Matthew 27:30 - They spit on him. They hit him on the head with the stick again and again.
Matthew 27:31 - After they had made fun of him, they took off the robe. They put his own clothes back on him. Then they led him away to nail him to a cross.
Acts 2:23 - Long ago God planned that Jesus would be handed over to you. With the help of evil people, you put Jesus to death. You nailed him to the cross.
Mark 15:16 - The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace. It was called the Praetorium. They called together the whole company of soldiers.
Mark 15:17 - The soldiers put a purple robe on Jesus. Then they twisted thorns together to make a crown. They placed it on his head.
Mark 15:18 - They began to call out to him, “We honor you, king of the Jews!”
Mark 15:19 - Again and again they hit him on the head with a stick. They spit on him. They fell on their knees and pretended to honor him.
Mark 15:20 - After they had made fun of him, they took off the purple robe. They put his own clothes back on him. Then they led him out to nail him to a cross.
Matthew 16:21 - From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples what would happen to him. He told them he must go to Jerusalem. There he must suffer many things from the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law. He must be killed and on the third day rise to life again.
