  • Ephesians 5:5 - You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
  • Joshua 7:21 - Among the plunder I saw a beautiful robe from Babylon, 200 silver coins, and a bar of gold weighing more than a pound. I wanted them so much that I took them. They are hidden in the ground beneath my tent, with the silver buried deeper than the rest.”
  • Proverbs 28:16 - A ruler with no understanding will oppress his people, but one who hates corruption will have a long life.
  • Psalms 37:16 - It is better to be godly and have little than to be evil and rich.
  • Proverbs 23:4 - Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit.
  • Proverbs 23:5 - In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.
  • Ecclesiastes 4:6 - And yet, “Better to have one handful with quietness than two handfuls with hard work and chasing the wind.”
  • Ecclesiastes 4:7 - I observed yet another example of something meaningless under the sun.
  • Ecclesiastes 4:8 - This is the case of a man who is all alone, without a child or a brother, yet who works hard to gain as much wealth as he can. But then he asks himself, “Who am I working for? Why am I giving up so much pleasure now?” It is all so meaningless and depressing.
  • Job 2:4 - Satan replied to the Lord, “Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life.
  • 1 Corinthians 5:10 - But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or are greedy, or cheat people, or worship idols. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that.
  • 1 Corinthians 5:11 - I meant that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or is a drunkard, or cheats people. Don’t even eat with such people.
  • Psalms 10:3 - For they brag about their evil desires; they praise the greedy and curse the Lord.
  • Jeremiah 6:13 - “From the least to the greatest, their lives are ruled by greed. From prophets to priests, they are all frauds.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:10 - or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
  • Habakkuk 2:9 - “What sorrow awaits you who build big houses with money gained dishonestly! You believe your wealth will buy security, putting your family’s nest beyond the reach of danger.
  • Mark 7:22 - adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness.
  • Jeremiah 22:17 - “But you! You have eyes only for greed and dishonesty! You murder the innocent, oppress the poor, and reign ruthlessly.”
  • Jeremiah 22:18 - Therefore, this is what the Lord says about Jehoiakim, son of King Josiah: “The people will not mourn for him, crying to one another, ‘Alas, my brother! Alas, my sister!’ His subjects will not mourn for him, crying, ‘Alas, our master is dead! Alas, his splendor is gone!’
  • Job 31:24 - “Have I put my trust in money or felt secure because of my gold?
  • Job 31:25 - Have I gloated about my wealth and all that I own?
  • Luke 8:14 - The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity.
  • Psalms 62:10 - Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life.
  • 2 Peter 2:3 - In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.
  • Colossians 3:5 - So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
  • 2 Timothy 3:2 - For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:10 - Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness!
  • Ecclesiastes 5:11 - The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!
  • Ecclesiastes 5:12 - People who work hard sleep well, whether they eat little or much. But the rich seldom get a good night’s sleep.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:13 - There is another serious problem I have seen under the sun. Hoarding riches harms the saver.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:14 - Money is put into risky investments that turn sour, and everything is lost. In the end, there is nothing left to pass on to one’s children.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:15 - We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us.
  • Ecclesiastes 5:16 - And this, too, is a very serious problem. People leave this world no better off than when they came. All their hard work is for nothing—like working for the wind.
  • Matthew 6:25 - “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
  • Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?
  • Luke 16:14 - The Pharisees, who dearly loved their money, heard all this and scoffed at him.
  • Proverbs 15:16 - Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.
  • Proverbs 16:16 - How much better to get wisdom than gold, and good judgment than silver!
  • Psalms 119:36 - Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!
  • Psalms 119:37 - Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
  • 1 Timothy 6:6 - Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth.
  • 1 Timothy 6:7 - After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it.
  • 1 Timothy 6:8 - So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.
  • 1 Timothy 6:9 - But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.
  • 1 Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
  • Hebrews 13:5 - Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
