Revelation 21:20 - the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.
Revelation 21:21 - The twelve gates were made of pearls—each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure gold, as clear as glass.
Revelation 21:22 - I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
Revelation 21:23 - And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light.
Revelation 21:24 - The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory.
Revelation 21:25 - Its gates will never be closed at the end of day because there is no night there.
Revelation 21:26 - And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city.
Revelation 21:27 - Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Hebrews 9:8 - By these regulations the Holy Spirit revealed that the entrance to the Most Holy Place was not freely open as long as the Tabernacle and the system it represented were still in use.
1 Thessalonians 3:3 - and to keep you from being shaken by the troubles you were going through. But you know that we are destined for such troubles.
1 Thessalonians 3:4 - Even while we were with you, we warned you that troubles would soon come—and they did, as you well know.
Luke 14:26 - “If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:27 - And if you do not carry your own cross and follow me, you cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:28 - “But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?
Luke 14:29 - Otherwise, you might complete only the foundation before running out of money, and then everyone would laugh at you.
Luke 14:30 - They would say, ‘There’s the person who started that building and couldn’t afford to finish it!’
Luke 14:31 - “Or what king would go to war against another king without first sitting down with his counselors to discuss whether his army of 10,000 could defeat the 20,000 soldiers marching against him?
Luke 14:32 - And if he can’t, he will send a delegation to discuss terms of peace while the enemy is still far away.
Luke 14:33 - So you cannot become my disciple without giving up everything you own.
Revelation 1:5 - and from Jesus Christ. He is the faithful witness to these things, the first to rise from the dead, and the ruler of all the kings of the world. All glory to him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by shedding his blood for us.
Hebrews 6:20 - Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.
Hebrews 11:10 - Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.
Titus 1:2 - This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.
Hebrews 9:23 - That is why the Tabernacle and everything in it, which were copies of things in heaven, had to be purified by the blood of animals. But the real things in heaven had to be purified with far better sacrifices than the blood of animals.
Hebrews 9:24 - For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf.
Hebrews 9:25 - And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal.
Hebrews 9:26 - If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice.
John 12:25 - Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity.
John 12:26 - Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
John 17:24 - Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!
John 16:4 - Yes, I’m telling you these things now, so that when they happen, you will remember my warning. I didn’t tell you earlier because I was going to be with you for a while longer.
John 13:33 - Dear children, I will be with you only a little longer. And as I told the Jewish leaders, you will search for me, but you can’t come where I am going.
Hebrews 11:14 - Obviously people who say such things are looking forward to a country they can call their own.
Hebrews 11:15 - If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back.
Hebrews 11:16 - But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
Revelation 21:2 - And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
Revelation 3:12 - All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God, and they will be citizens in the city of my God—the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name.
Hebrews 13:14 - For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.
2 Corinthians 5:1 - For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
John 13:36 - Simon Peter asked, “Lord, where are you going?” And Jesus replied, “You can’t go with me now, but you will follow me later.”
