  • James 1:27 - Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

  • Exodus 22:23 - If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry.
  • Exodus 22:24 - My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless.
  • Jeremiah 13:10 - These wicked people, who refuse to listen to my words, who follow the stubbornness of their hearts and go after other gods to serve and worship them, will be like this belt—completely useless!
  • Deuteronomy 8:19 - If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed.
