Nebuchadnezzar decided his fate. The king of Babylon killed all the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah right before his eyes and then killed all the nobles of Judah. After Zedekiah had seen the slaughter, Nebuchadnezzar blinded him, chained him up, and then took him off to Babylon.

Jeremiah 52:7 - Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled, and went out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden. Now the Chaldeans were against the city all around. The men of war went toward the Arabah,
Jeremiah 52:8 - but the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
Jeremiah 52:9 - Then they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he pronounced judgment on him.
Jeremiah 52:10 - The king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes. He also killed all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
Jeremiah 52:11 - He put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison until the day of his death.
2 Kings 25:4 - Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden (now the Chaldeans were against the city around it); and the king went by the way of the Arabah.
2 Kings 25:5 - But the Chaldean army pursued the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
2 Kings 25:6 - Then they captured the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they passed judgment on him.
2 Kings 25:7 - They killed Zedekiah’s sons before his eyes, then put out Zedekiah’s eyes, bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon.
Ezekiel 12:12 - “‘The prince who is among them will bear on his shoulder in the dark, and will go out. They will dig through the wall to carry things out that way. He will cover his face, because he will not see the land with his eyes.
Leviticus 26:17 - I will set my face against you, and you will be struck before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you; and you will flee when no one pursues you.
Deuteronomy 32:24 - They shall be wasted with hunger, and devoured with burning heat and bitter destruction. I will send the teeth of animals on them, with the venom of vipers that glide in the dust.
Deuteronomy 32:25 - Outside the sword will bereave, and in the rooms, terror on both young man and virgin, the nursing infant with the gray-haired man.
Deuteronomy 32:26 - I said that I would scatter them afar. I would make their memory to cease from among men;
Deuteronomy 32:27 - were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, lest their adversaries should judge wrongly, lest they should say, ‘Our hand is exalted, Yahweh has not done all this.’”
Deuteronomy 32:28 - For they are a nation void of counsel. There is no understanding in them.
Deuteronomy 32:29 - Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
Deuteronomy 32:30 - How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had delivered them up?
Amos 2:14 - Flight will perish from the swift; and the strong won’t strengthen his force; neither shall the mighty deliver himself;
2 Chronicles 32:5 - He took courage, built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised it up to the towers, with the other wall outside, and strengthened Millo in David’s city, and made weapons and shields in abundance.
