Ezra 4:16 - We therefore are informing the king that if this city is rebuilt and its walls are completed, you will not retain control of this portion of Trans-Euphrates.”

Ezra 4:7 - And during the reign of Artaxerxes, Bishlam, Mithredath, Tabeel, and the rest of their colleagues wrote to King Artaxerxes of Persia. This letter was first written in Aramaic but then translated. [Aramaic:]
Ezra 4:8 - Rehum the commander and Shimshai the scribe wrote a letter concerning Jerusalem to King Artaxerxes as follows:
Ezra 4:9 - From Rehum the commander, Shimshai the scribe, and the rest of their colleagues – the judges, the rulers, the officials, the secretaries, the Erechites, the Babylonians, the people of Susa (that is, the Elamites),
Ezra 4:10 - and the rest of nations whom the great and noble Ashurbanipal deported and settled in the cities of Samaria and other places in Trans-Euphrates.
Ezra 4:11 - (This is a copy of the letter they sent to him:) “To King Artaxerxes, from your servants in Trans-Euphrates:
Ezra 4:12 - Now let the king be aware that the Jews who came up to us from you have gone to Jerusalem. They are rebuilding that rebellious and odious city. They are completing its walls and repairing its foundations.
Ezra 4:13 - Let the king also be aware that if this city is built and its walls are completed, no more tax, custom, or toll will be paid, and the royal treasury will suffer loss.
Ezra 4:14 - In light of the fact that we are loyal to the king, and since it does not seem appropriate to us that the king should sustain damage, we are sending the king this information
Ezra 4:15 - so that he may initiate a search of the records of his predecessors and discover in those records that this city is rebellious and injurious to both kings and provinces, producing internal revolts from long ago. It is for this very reason that this city was destroyed.
Ezra 4:16 - We therefore are informing the king that if this city is rebuilt and its walls are completed, you will not retain control of this portion of Trans-Euphrates.”
2 Kings 10:1 - Ahab had seventy sons living in Samaria. So Jehu wrote letters and sent them to Samaria to the leading officials of Jezreel and to the guardians of Ahab’s dynasty. This is what the letters said,
2 Kings 10:2 - “You have with you the sons of your master, chariots and horses, a fortified city, and weapons. So when this letter arrives,
2 Kings 10:3 - pick the best and most capable of your master’s sons, place him on his father’s throne, and defend your master’s dynasty.”
2 Kings 10:4 - They were absolutely terrified and said, “Look, two kings could not stop him! How can we?”
2 Kings 10:5 - So the palace supervisor, the city commissioner, the leaders, and the guardians sent this message to Jehu, “We are your subjects! Whatever you say, we will do. We will not make anyone king. Do what you consider proper.”
2 Kings 10:6 - He wrote them a second letter, saying, “If you are really on my side and are willing to obey me, then take the heads of your master’s sons and come to me in Jezreel at this time tomorrow.” Now the king had seventy sons, and the prominent men of the city were raising them.
2 Kings 10:7 - When they received the letter, they seized the king’s sons and executed all seventy of them. They put their heads in baskets and sent them to him in Jezreel.
2 Kings 25:18 - The captain of the royal guard took Seraiah the chief priest and Zephaniah, the priest who was second in rank, and the three doorkeepers.
2 Kings 25:19 - From the city he took a eunuch who was in charge of the soldiers, five of the king’s advisers who were discovered in the city, an official army secretary who drafted citizens for military service, and sixty citizens from the people of the land who were discovered in the city.
2 Kings 25:20 - Nebuzaradan, captain of the royal guard, took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.
2 Kings 25:21 - The king of Babylon ordered them to be executed at Riblah in the territory of Hamath. So Judah was deported from its land.
2 Chronicles 32:17 - He wrote letters mocking the Lord God of Israel and insulting him with these words: “The gods of the surrounding nations could not rescue their people from my power. Neither can Hezekiah’s god rescue his people from my power.”
Nehemiah 6:19 - They were telling me about his good deeds and then taking back to him the things I said. Tobiah, on the other hand, sent letters in order to scare me.
Jeremiah 21:1 - The Lord spoke to Jeremiah when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur son of Malkijah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah. Zedekiah sent them to Jeremiah to ask,
Jeremiah 21:2 - “Please ask the Lord to come and help us, because King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon is attacking us. Maybe the Lord will perform one of his miracles as in times past and make him stop attacking us and leave.”
Nehemiah 6:5 - The fifth time that Sanballat sent his assistant to me in this way, he had an open letter in his hand.
2 Kings 19:14 - Hezekiah took the letter from the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to the Lord’s temple and spread it out before the Lord.
Acts 9:2 - and requested letters from him to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any who belonged to the Way, either men or women, he could bring them as prisoners to Jerusalem.
2 Kings 19:9 - The king heard that King Tirhakah of Ethiopia was marching out to fight him. He again sent messengers to Hezekiah, ordering them:
Nehemiah 6:17 - In those days the aristocrats of Judah repeatedly sent letters to Tobiah, and responses from Tobiah were repeatedly coming to them.
1 Kings 21:8 - She wrote out orders, signed Ahab’s name to them, and sealed them with his seal. She then sent the orders to the leaders and to the nobles who lived in Naboth’s city.
1 Kings 21:9 - This is what she wrote: “Observe a time of fasting and seat Naboth in front of the people.
1 Kings 21:10 - Also seat two villains opposite him and have them testify, ‘You cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”
1 Kings 21:11 - The men of the city, the leaders and the nobles who lived there, followed the written orders Jezebel had sent them.
1 Kings 21:12 - They observed a time of fasting and put Naboth in front of the people.
1 Kings 21:13 - The two villains arrived and sat opposite him. Then the villains testified against Naboth right before the people, saying, “Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they dragged him outside the city and stoned him to death.
Jeremiah 52:24 - The captain of the royal guard took Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the priest who was second in rank, and the three doorkeepers.
Jeremiah 37:3 - King Zedekiah sent Jehucal son of Shelemiah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah to the prophet Jeremiah. He told them to say, “Please pray to the Lord our God on our behalf.”
Jeremiah 29:29 - Zephaniah the priest read that letter to the prophet Jeremiah.
