  • Jeremiah 28:10 - Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke it.
  • Jeremiah 28:11 - Hananiah spoke in the sight of all the people, saying, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Even so within two full years I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all the nations.’ ” Then Jeremiah the prophet went his way.
  • Jeremiah 28:12 - Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah after Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
  • Jeremiah 28:13 - “Go and speak to Hananiah, saying, ‘This is what the Lord says: “You have broken the yokes of wood, but in their place you have made yokes of iron.”
  • Jeremiah 28:14 - For this is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says: “I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him. And I have also given him the animals of the field.” ’ ”
  • Jeremiah 18:2 - “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will announce My words to you.”
  • Jeremiah 18:3 - So I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something on the wheel.
  • Jeremiah 18:4 - But the vessel that he was making of clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he remade it into another vessel, as it pleased the potter to make.
  • Jeremiah 18:5 - Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
  • Jeremiah 18:6 - “Am I not able, house of Israel, to deal with you as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, house of Israel.
  • Jeremiah 18:7 - At one moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to uproot it, to tear it down, or to destroy it;
  • Jeremiah 18:8 - if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I planned to bring on it.
  • Jeremiah 18:9 - Or at another moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to build up or to plant it;
  • Jeremiah 18:10 - if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will relent of the good with which I said that I would bless it.
  • Ezekiel 24:3 - Present a parable to the rebellious house and say to them, ‘This is what the Lord God says: “Put on the pot, put it on and also pour water into it;
  • Ezekiel 24:4 - Put in it the pieces of meat, Every good piece, the thigh and the shoulder; Fill it with choice bones.
  • Ezekiel 24:5 - Take the choicest of the flock, And also stack wood under the pot. Make it boil vigorously. Also boil its bones in it.”
  • Ezekiel 24:6 - ‘Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: “Woe to the bloody city, To the pot in which there is rust And whose rust has not gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece, Without making a choice.
  • Ezekiel 24:7 - For her blood is in her midst; She placed it on the bare rock; She did not pour it on the ground To cover it with dust.
  • Ezekiel 24:8 - So that it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have put her blood on the bare rock, So that it will not be covered.”
  • Ezekiel 24:9 - Therefore, this is what the Lord God says: “Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the wood pile great.
  • Ezekiel 24:10 - Heap on the wood, kindle the fire, Cook the meat thoroughly And mix in the spices, And let the bones be burned up.
  • Ezekiel 24:11 - Then set it empty on its burning coals So that it may be hot And its bronze may glow, And its filthiness may be melted in it, Its rust eliminated.
  • Ezekiel 24:12 - She has wearied Me with work, Yet her great rust has not gone from her; Let her rust be in the fire!
  • Jeremiah 19:1 - This is what the Lord says: “Go and buy a potter’s earthenware jar, and take some of the elders of the people and some of the senior priests.
  • Jeremiah 19:2 - Then go out to the Valley of Ben-hinnom, which is by the entrance of the Potsherd Gate, and proclaim there the words that I tell you,
  • Jeremiah 19:3 - and say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, you kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says: “Behold I am going to bring a disaster upon this place, at which the ears of everyone that hears of it will tingle.
  • Jeremiah 19:4 - Since they have abandoned Me and have made this place foreign, and have burned sacrifices in it to other gods that neither they nor their forefathers nor the kings of Judah had ever known, and since they have filled this place with the blood of the innocent
  • Jeremiah 19:5 - and have built the high places of Baal to burn their sons in the fire as burnt offerings to Baal, a thing which I did not command nor speak of, nor did it ever enter My mind;
  • Jeremiah 19:6 - therefore, behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when this place will no longer be called Topheth or the Valley of Ben-hinnom, but rather the Valley of Slaughter.
  • Jeremiah 19:7 - And I will frustrate the planning of Judah and Jerusalem in this place, and I will make them fall by the sword before their enemies and by the hand of those who seek their life; and I will make their carcasses food for the birds of the sky and the animals of the earth.
  • Jeremiah 19:8 - I will also turn this city into an object of horror and hissing; everyone who passes by it will be appalled and hiss because of all its disasters.
  • Jeremiah 19:9 - And I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they will eat one another’s flesh during the siege and in the hardship with which their enemies and those who seek their life will torment them.” ’
  • Jeremiah 19:10 - “Then you are to break the jar in the sight of the men who accompany you,
  • Jeremiah 19:11 - and say to them, ‘This is what the Lord of armies says: “To the same extent I will break this people and this city, just as one breaks a potter’s vessel, which cannot again be repaired; and they will bury their dead in Topheth, because there is no other place for burial.
  • Amos 7:4 - So the Lord God showed me, and behold, the Lord God was calling to contend with them by fire, and it consumed the great deep and began to consume the farmland.
  • Isaiah 20:2 - at that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go and loosen the sackcloth from your hips and take your sandals off your feet.” And he did so, going naked and barefoot.
  • Isaiah 20:3 - Then the Lord said, “Even as My servant Isaiah has gone naked and barefoot for three years as a sign and symbol against Egypt and Cush,
  • Isaiah 20:4 - so the king of Assyria will lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot with buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
  • Amos 7:1 - This is what the Lord God showed me, and behold, He was forming a swarm of locusts when the spring crop began to sprout. And behold, the spring crop was after the king’s mowing.
  • 1 Kings 11:30 - Then Ahijah took hold of the new cloak which was on him and tore it into twelve pieces.
  • 1 Kings 11:31 - And he said to Jeroboam, “Take for yourself ten pieces; for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says: ‘Behold, I am going to tear the kingdom away from the hand of Solomon and give you ten tribes
  • Ezekiel 4:1 - “Now you, son of man, get yourself a brick, place it before you, and inscribe a city on it—Jerusalem.
  • Ezekiel 4:2 - Then lay siege against it, build a siege wall, pile up an assault ramp, set up camps, and place battering rams against it all around.
  • Ezekiel 4:3 - Then get yourself an iron plate and set it up as an iron wall between yourself and the city, and direct your face toward it so that it is under siege, and besiege it. This will be a sign to the house of Israel.
  • Ezekiel 4:4 - “Then you are to lie down on your left side and put the wrongdoing of the house of Israel on it; you shall bear their wrongdoing for the number of days that you lie on it.
  • Ezekiel 4:5 - For I have assigned you a number of days corresponding to the years of their wrongdoing, 390 days; so you shall bear the wrongdoing of the house of Israel.
  • Ezekiel 12:1 - Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
  • Ezekiel 12:2 - “Son of man, you live in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.
  • Ezekiel 12:3 - So as for you, son of man, prepare for yourself baggage for exile and go into exile by day in their sight; that is, go into exile from your place to another place in their sight. Perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious house.
  • Ezekiel 12:4 - Bring your baggage out by day in their sight, as baggage for exile. Then you shall go out at evening in their sight, as those who are going into exile.
  • Ezekiel 12:5 - Dig a hole through the wall in their sight and go out through it.
  • Ezekiel 12:6 - Load the baggage on your shoulder in their sight and carry it out in the dark. You shall cover your face so that you cannot see the land, for I have set you as a sign to the house of Israel.”
  • Ezekiel 12:7 - Then I did so, just as I had been commanded. By day I brought out my baggage like the baggage of an exile. Then in the evening I dug through the wall with my hands; I went out in the dark and carried the baggage on my shoulder in their sight.
  • Ezekiel 12:8 - And in the morning the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
  • Ezekiel 12:9 - “Son of man, has the house of Israel, the rebellious house, not said to you, ‘What are you doing?’
  • Ezekiel 12:10 - Say to them, ‘This is what the Lord God says: “This pronouncement concerns the prince in Jerusalem as well as all the house of Israel who are in it.” ’
  • Ezekiel 12:11 - Say, ‘I am a sign to you. Just as I have done, so it will be done to them; they will go into exile, into captivity.’
  • Ezekiel 12:12 - The prince who is among them will load his baggage on his shoulder in the dark and go out. They will dig a hole through the wall to bring it out through it. He will cover his face so that he cannot see the land with his eyes.
  • Ezekiel 12:13 - I will also spread My net over him, and he will be caught in My net. And I will bring him to Babylon in the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will not see it, though he will die there.
  • Ezekiel 12:14 - And I will scatter to every wind all who are around him, his helpers and all his troops; and I will draw out a sword after them.
  • Ezekiel 12:15 - So they will know that I am the Lord, when I disperse them among the nations and scatter them among the countries.
  • Ezekiel 12:16 - But I will spare a few of them from the sword, the famine, and plague so that they may tell of all their abominations among the nations where they go, and may know that I am the Lord.”
  • Ezekiel 12:17 - Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
  • Ezekiel 12:18 - “Son of man, eat your bread with trembling, and drink your water with quivering and anxiety.
  • Ezekiel 12:19 - Then say to the people of the land, ‘This is what the Lord God says concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the land of Israel: “They will eat their bread with anxiety and drink their water with horror, because their land will be stripped of its fullness on account of the violence of all who live in it.
  • Ezekiel 12:20 - The inhabited cities will be in ruins, and the land will be a desolation. So you will know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”
  • Ezekiel 12:21 - Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
  • Ezekiel 12:22 - “Son of man, what is this proverb you people have about the land of Israel, saying, ‘The days are long, and every vision fails’?
  • Ezekiel 12:23 - Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Lord God says: “I will put an end to this proverb so that they will no longer use it as a proverb in Israel.” But tell them, “The days are approaching as well as the fulfillment of every vision.
  • Ezekiel 12:24 - For there will no longer be any false vision or deceptive divination within the house of Israel.
  • Ezekiel 12:25 - For I the Lord will speak whatever word I speak, and it will be performed. It will no longer be delayed, for in your days, you rebellious house, I will speak the word and perform it,” declares the Lord God.’ ”
  • Ezekiel 12:26 - Furthermore, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
  • Ezekiel 12:27 - “Son of man, behold, the house of Israel is saying, ‘The vision that he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies of times far off.’
  • Ezekiel 12:28 - Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Lord God says: “None of My words will be delayed any longer. Whatever word I speak will be performed,” ’ ” declares the Lord God.
  • Jeremiah 27:12 - I spoke words like all these to Zedekiah king of Judah, saying, “Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him and his people, and live!
  • Jeremiah 13:1 - This is what the Lord said to me: “Go and buy yourself a linen undergarment and put it around your waist, but do not put it in water.”
  • Jeremiah 13:2 - So I bought the undergarment in accordance with the word of the Lord, and put it around my waist.
  • Jeremiah 13:3 - Then the word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying,
  • Jeremiah 13:4 - “Take the undergarment that you bought, which is around your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates and hide it there in a crevice of the rock.”
  • Jeremiah 13:5 - So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as the Lord had commanded me.
  • Jeremiah 13:6 - After many days the Lord said to me, “Arise, go to the Euphrates and take from there the undergarment which I commanded you to hide there.”
  • Jeremiah 13:7 - Then I went to the Euphrates and dug, and I took the undergarment from the place where I had hidden it; and behold, the undergarment was ruined, it was completely useless.
  • Jeremiah 13:8 - Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
  • Jeremiah 13:9 - “This is what the Lord says: ‘To the same extent I will destroy the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem.
  • Jeremiah 13:10 - This wicked people, who refuse to listen to My words, who walk in the stubbornness of their hearts and have followed other gods to serve them and to bow down to them, let them be just like this undergarment which is completely useless.
  • Jeremiah 13:11 - For as the undergarment clings to the waist of a man, so I made the entire household of Israel and the entire household of Judah cling to Me,’ declares the Lord, ‘so that they might be My people, for renown, for praise, and for glory; but they did not listen.’
