Esdras 8:21 - Ali, junto ao canal de Aava, proclamei jejum para que nos humilhássemos diante do nosso Deus e lhe pedíssemos uma viagem segura para nós e nossos filhos, com todos os nossos bens.
Juízes 20:18 - Os israelitas subiram a Betel e consultaram a Deus. “Quem de nós irá lutar primeiro contra os benjamitas?”, perguntaram. O Senhor respondeu: “Judá irá primeiro”.
Joel 2:12 - “Agora, porém”, declara o Senhor, “voltem-se para mim de todo o coração, com jejum, lamento e pranto.”
Joel 2:13 - Rasguem o coração e não as vestes. Voltem-se para o Senhor, o seu Deus, pois ele é misericordioso e compassivo, muito paciente e cheio de amor; arrepende-se e não envia a desgraça.
Joel 2:14 - Talvez ele volte atrás, arrependa-se, e ao passar deixe uma bênção. Assim vocês poderão fazer ofertas de cereal e ofertas derramadas para o Senhor, o seu Deus.
Joel 2:15 - Toquem a trombeta em Sião, decretem jejum santo, convoquem uma assembleia sagrada.
Joel 2:16 - Reúnam o povo, consagrem a assembleia; ajuntem os anciãos, reúnam as crianças, mesmo as que mamam no peito. Até os recém-casados devem deixar os seus aposentos.
Joel 2:17 - Que os sacerdotes, que ministram perante o Senhor, chorem entre o pórtico do templo e o altar, orando: “Poupa o teu povo, Senhor. Não faças da tua herança objeto de zombaria e de chacota entre as nações. Por que se haveria de dizer pelos povos: ‘Onde está o Deus deles?’ ”
Joel 2:18 - Então o Senhor mostrou zelo por sua terra e teve piedade do seu povo.
Esdras 9:4 - Então todos os que tremiam diante das palavras do Deus de Israel reuniram-se ao meu redor por causa da infidelidade dos exilados. E eu fiquei sentado ali, estarrecido, até o sacrifício da tarde.
Esdras 9:5 - Então, na hora do sacrifício da tarde, eu saí do meu abatimento, com a túnica e o manto rasgados, e caí de joelhos com as mãos estendidas para o Senhor, o meu Deus,
Juízes 20:23 - Os israelitas subiram, choraram perante o Senhor até a tarde e consultaram o Senhor: “Devemos atacar de novo os nossos irmãos benjamitas?” O Senhor respondeu: “Vocês devem atacar”.
