  • 2 Thessalonians 1:8 - punishing those who don’t know God, and to those who don’t obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus,
  • Jeremiah 2:18 - Now what do you gain by going to Egypt, to drink the waters of the Shihor? Or why do you to go on the way to Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?
  • Judges 2:20 - Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel; and he said, “Because this nation transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not listened to my voice,

  • Exodus 34:16 - and you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters play the prostitute after their gods, and make your sons play the prostitute after their gods.
  • Genesis 4:10 - Yahweh said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries to me from the ground.
  • Psalms 106:34 - They didn’t destroy the peoples, as Yahweh commanded them,
  • Psalms 106:35 - but mixed themselves with the nations, and learned their works.
  • Psalms 106:36 - They served their idols, which became a snare to them.
  • Psalms 106:37 - Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.
  • Psalms 106:38 - They shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan. The land was polluted with blood.
  • Psalms 106:39 - Thus they were defiled with their works, and prostituted themselves in their deeds.
  • Psalms 106:40 - Therefore Yahweh burned with anger against his people. He abhorred his inheritance.
  • Jeremiah 7:23 - but this thing I commanded them, saying, ‘Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’
  • Jeremiah 7:24 - But they didn’t listen or turn their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
  • Jeremiah 7:25 - Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them.
  • Jeremiah 7:26 - Yet they didn’t listen to me or incline their ear, but made their neck stiff. They did worse than their fathers.
  • Jeremiah 7:27 - “You shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.
  • Jeremiah 7:28 - You shall tell them, ‘This is the nation that has not listened to Yahweh their God’s voice, nor received instruction. Truth has perished, and is cut off from their mouth.’
  • Ezra 9:10 - “Now, our God, what shall we say after this? For we have forsaken your commandments,
  • Ezra 9:11 - which you have commanded by your servants the prophets, saying, ‘The land, to which you go to possess it, is an unclean land through the uncleanness of the peoples of the lands, through their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their filthiness.
  • Ezra 9:12 - Now therefore don’t give your daughters to their sons. Don’t take their daughters to your sons, nor seek their peace or their prosperity forever; that you may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children forever.’
  • Ezra 9:13 - “After all that has come on us for our evil deeds, and for our great guilt, since you, our God, have punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and have given us such a remnant,
  • Exodus 23:32 - You shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.
  • Exodus 23:33 - They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”
  • Ezra 9:1 - Now when these things were done, the princes came near to me, saying, “The people of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands, following their abominations, even those of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.
  • Ezra 9:2 - For they have taken of their daughters for themselves and for their sons, so that the holy offspring have mixed themselves with the peoples of the lands. Yes, the hand of the princes and rulers has been chief in this trespass.”
  • Ezra 9:3 - When I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my robe, and pulled the hair out of my head and of my beard, and sat down confounded.
  • Deuteronomy 20:16 - But of the cities of these peoples that Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes;
  • Deuteronomy 20:17 - but you shall utterly destroy them: the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, as Yahweh your God has commanded you;
  • Deuteronomy 20:18 - that they not teach you to follow all their abominations, which they have done for their gods; so would you sin against Yahweh your God.
  • Deuteronomy 7:16 - You shall consume all the peoples whom Yahweh your God shall deliver to you. Your eye shall not pity them. You shall not serve their gods; for that would be a snare to you.
  • Deuteronomy 7:25 - You shall burn the engraved images of their gods with fire. You shall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourself, lest you be snared in it; for it is an abomination to Yahweh your God.
  • Deuteronomy 7:26 - You shall not bring an abomination into your house and become a devoted thing like it. You shall utterly detest it. You shall utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing.
  • 2 Corinthians 6:14 - Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
  • 2 Corinthians 6:15 - What agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what portion does a believer have with an unbeliever?
  • 2 Corinthians 6:16 - What agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. Even as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk in them. I will be their God and they will be my people.”
  • 2 Corinthians 6:17 - Therefore “‘Come out from among them, and be separate,’ says the Lord. ‘Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you.
  • Jeremiah 2:31 - Generation, consider Yahweh’s word. Have I been a wilderness to Israel? Or a land of thick darkness? Why do my people say, ‘We have broken loose. We will come to you no more?’
  • Jeremiah 2:32 - “Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me for days without number.
  • Jeremiah 2:33 - How well you prepare your way to seek love! Therefore you have even taught the wicked women your ways.

  • Psalms 78:55 - He also drove out the nations before them, allotted them for an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
  • Psalms 78:56 - Yet they tempted and rebelled against the Most High God, and didn’t keep his testimonies,
  • Psalms 78:57 - but turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers. They were twisted like a deceitful bow.
  • Psalms 78:58 - For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their engraved images.
  • Deuteronomy 12:2 - You shall surely destroy all the places in which the nations that you shall dispossess served their gods: on the high mountains, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
  • Deuteronomy 12:3 - You shall break down their altars, dash their pillars in pieces, and burn their Asherah poles with fire. You shall cut down the engraved images of their gods. You shall destroy their name out of that place.
  • Numbers 33:52 - then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their stone idols, destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places.
  • Numbers 33:53 - You shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for I have given the land to you to possess it.
  • Genesis 3:11 - God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”
  • Genesis 3:12 - The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
  • Jeremiah 2:36 - Why do you go about so much to change your ways? You will be ashamed of Egypt also, as you were ashamed of Assyria.
  • Deuteronomy 7:2 - and when Yahweh your God delivers them up before you, and you strike them, then you shall utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them.
  • Deuteronomy 7:3 - You shall not make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to his son, nor shall you take his daughter for your son.
  • Deuteronomy 7:4 - For that would turn away your sons from following me, that they may serve other gods. So Yahweh’s anger would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you quickly.
  • Jeremiah 2:5 - Yahweh says, “What unrighteousness have your fathers found in me, that they have gone far from me, and have walked after worthless vanity, and have become worthless?
  • 1 Peter 4:17 - For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God. If it begins first with us, what will happen to those who don’t obey the Good News of God?
