  • Amos 9:5 - The Lord God of armies, The One who touches the land so that it quakes, And all those who live in it mourn, And all of it rises up like the Nile And subsides like the Nile of Egypt;
  • Amos 9:6 - The One who builds His upper chambers in the heavens And has founded His vaulted dome over the earth, He who calls for the waters of the sea And pours them out on the face of the earth, The Lord is His name.
  • Amos 9:7 - “Are you not as the sons of Ethiopia to Me, You sons of Israel?” declares the Lord. “Have I not brought up Israel from the land of Egypt, And the Philistines from Caphtor and the Arameans from Kir?
  • Amos 9:8 - Behold, the eyes of the Lord God are on the sinful kingdom, And I will eliminate it from the face of the earth; Nevertheless, I will not totally eliminate the house of Jacob,” Declares the Lord.
  • Amos 9:9 - “For behold, I am commanding, And I will shake the house of Israel among all nations As grain is shaken in a sieve, But not a pebble will fall to the ground.
  • Hosea 8:8 - Israel has been swallowed up; They are now among the nations Like a vessel in which no one delights.
  • Amos 7:17 - Therefore, this is what the Lord says: ‘Your wife will become a prostitute in the city, your sons and your daughters will fall by the sword, your land will be parceled up by a measuring line, and you yourself will die upon unclean soil. Furthermore Israel will certainly go from its land into exile.’ ”

  • 2 Kings 17:6 - In the ninth year of Hoshea, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and led the people of Israel into exile to Assyria, and settled them in Halah and Habor, on the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
  • 2 Kings 17:7 - Now this came about because the sons of Israel had sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them up from the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and they had feared other gods.
  • 2 Kings 17:8 - They also followed the customs of the nations whom the Lord had driven out from the sons of Israel, and in the customs of the kings of Israel which they had introduced.
  • 2 Kings 17:9 - And the sons of Israel did things secretly against the Lord their God which were not right. Moreover, they built for themselves high places in all their towns, from watchtower to fortified city.
  • 2 Kings 17:10 - And they set up for themselves memorial stones and Asherim on every high hill and under every green tree,
  • 2 Kings 17:11 - and there they burned incense on all the high places as the nations did that the Lord had taken into exile before them; and they did evil things, provoking the Lord.
  • 2 Kings 17:12 - They served idols, concerning which the Lord had said to them, “You shall not do this thing.”
  • 2 Kings 17:13 - Yet the Lord warned Israel and Judah through all His prophets and every seer, saying, “Turn back from your evil ways and keep My commandments and My statutes in accordance with all the Law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you through My servants the prophets.”
  • 2 Kings 17:14 - However, they did not listen, but stiffened their neck like their fathers, who did not believe in the Lord their God.
  • 2 Kings 17:15 - They rejected His statutes and His covenant which He made with their fathers, and His warnings which He gave them. And they followed idols and became empty, and followed the nations that surrounded them, about which the Lord had commanded them not to do as they did.
  • 2 Kings 17:16 - And they abandoned all the commandments of the Lord their God and made for themselves cast metal images: two calves. And they made an Asherah, and worshiped all the heavenly lights, and served Baal.
  • 2 Kings 17:17 - Then they made their sons and their daughters pass through the fire, and they practiced divination and interpreting omens, and gave themselves over to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking Him.
  • 2 Kings 17:18 - So the Lord was very angry with Israel, and He removed them from His sight; no one was left except the tribe of Judah.
  • 2 Kings 17:19 - Judah did not keep the commandments of the Lord their God either, but they followed the customs which Israel had introduced.
  • 2 Kings 17:20 - So the Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel and afflicted them and handed them over to plunderers, until He had cast them out of His sight.
  • Hosea 13:3 - Therefore they will be like the morning cloud And like dew which soon disappears, Like chaff which is blown away from the threshing floor, And like smoke from a chimney.
  • Amos 6:11 - For behold, the Lord is going to command that the great house be smashed to pieces, and the small house to rubble.
  • Hosea 9:11 - As for Ephraim, their glory will fly away like a bird— No birth, no pregnancy, and no conception!
  • Hosea 9:12 - Though they bring up their children, Yet I will bereave them of their children until not a person is left. Yes, woe to them indeed when I depart from them!
  • Hosea 9:13 - Ephraim, as I have seen, Is planted in a pasture like Tyre; But Ephraim is going to bring out his children for slaughter.
  • Hosea 9:14 - Give to them, Lord—what will You give? Give them a miscarrying womb and dried-up breasts.
  • Hosea 9:15 - All their evil is at Gilgal; Indeed, I came to hate them there! Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of My house! I will no longer love them; All their leaders are rebels.
  • Hosea 9:16 - Ephraim is stricken, their root is dried up, They will produce no fruit. Even though they give birth to children, I will put to death the precious ones of their womb.
  • Hosea 9:17 - My God will reject them Because they have not listened to Him; And they will be wanderers among the nations.
  • Hosea 5:12 - Therefore I am like a moth to Ephraim, And like rottenness to the house of Judah.
  • Hosea 5:13 - When Ephraim saw his sickness, And Judah his sore, Ephraim then went to Assyria And sent word to King Jareb. But he is unable to heal you, Or to cure you of your sore.
  • Hosea 5:14 - For I will be like a lion to Ephraim And like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, yes I, will tear to pieces and go away, I will carry away, and there will be no one to rescue.
  • Hosea 1:6 - Then she conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. And the Lord said to him, “Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer take pity on the house of Israel, that I would ever forgive them.
  • Hosea 1:9 - And the Lord said, “Name him Lo-ammi, because you are not My people, and I am not your God.”
  • Hosea 1:4 - And the Lord said to him, “Name him Jezreel; for in just a little while I will punish the house of Jehu for the bloodshed of Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.
  • Amos 2:14 - Refuge will be lost from the swift, And the strong will not strengthen his power, Nor the warrior save his life.
  • Amos 2:15 - The one who grasps the bow will not stand his ground, The swift of foot will not escape, Nor will the one who rides the horse save his life.
  • Amos 2:16 - Even the bravest among the warriors will flee naked on that day,” declares the Lord.
  • Revelation 18:8 - For this reason in one day her plagues will come, plague and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong.
  • Isaiah 19:15 - There will be no work for Egypt Which its head or tail, its palm branch or bulrush, may do.
