Matthew 21:21 - Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.

Matthew 21:1 - As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,
Matthew 21:2 - saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.
Matthew 21:3 - If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”
Matthew 21:4 - This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:
Matthew 21:5 - “Say to Daughter Zion, ‘See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’ ”
Matthew 21:6 - The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.
Matthew 21:7 - They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on.
Matthew 21:8 - A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
Matthew 21:9 - The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
Matthew 21:10 - When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”
Matthew 21:11 - The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Matthew 21:18 - Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry.
Matthew 21:19 - Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.
Matthew 21:20 - When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.
Matthew 21:21 - Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.
Matthew 21:22 - If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
Matthew 21:23 - Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. “By what authority are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?”
Matthew 21:24 - Jesus replied, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
Matthew 21:25 - John’s baptism—where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or of human origin?” They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’
Matthew 21:26 - But if we say, ‘Of human origin’—we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet.”
Matthew 21:27 - So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Then he said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
Matthew 21:28 - “What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’
Matthew 21:29 - “ ‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.
Matthew 21:30 - “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go.
Matthew 21:31 - “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.
Matthew 21:32 - For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.
Matthew 21:33 - “Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place.
Matthew 21:34 - When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit.
Matthew 21:35 - “The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.
Matthew 21:36 - Then he sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way.
Matthew 21:37 - Last of all, he sent his son to them. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said.
Matthew 21:38 - “But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and take his inheritance.’
Matthew 21:39 - So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
Matthew 21:40 - “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”
Matthew 21:41 - “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,” they replied, “and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.”
Matthew 21:42 - Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “ ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’ ?
Matthew 21:43 - “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
Matthew 21:44 - Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”
Matthew 21:45 - When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew he was talking about them.
Matthew 21:46 - They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet.

Genesis 22:3 - Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.

Matthew 26:1 - When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,
Matthew 26:2 - “As you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

Matthew 26:4 - and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.

Matthew 26:7 - a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table.

Matthew 26:9 - “This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.”
Matthew 26:10 - Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me.
Matthew 26:11 - The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me.
Matthew 26:12 - When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
Matthew 26:13 - Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”
Matthew 26:14 - Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests
Matthew 26:15 - and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver.
Matthew 26:16 - From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
Matthew 26:17 - On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”
Matthew 26:18 - He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’ ”
Matthew 26:19 - So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
Matthew 26:20 - When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve.
Matthew 26:21 - And while they were eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.”
Matthew 26:22 - They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, “Surely you don’t mean me, Lord?”
Matthew 26:23 - Jesus replied, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.
Matthew 26:24 - The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”
Matthew 26:25 - Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, “Surely you don’t mean me, Rabbi?” Jesus answered, “You have said so.”
Matthew 26:26 - While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
Matthew 26:27 - Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.
