Genesis 22:3 - Early in the morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took two of his young servants with him, along with his son Isaac. When he had cut the wood for the burnt offering, he started out for the place God had spoken to him about.

Matthew 21:1 - Now when they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples,
Matthew 21:2 - telling them, “Go to the village ahead of you. Right away you will find a donkey tied there, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me.
Matthew 21:3 - If anyone says anything to you, you are to say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and he will send them at once.”
Matthew 21:4 - This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet:
Matthew 21:5 - “Tell the people of Zion, ‘Look, your king is coming to you, unassuming and seated on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”
Matthew 21:6 - So the disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.
Matthew 21:7 - They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them, and he sat on them.
Matthew 21:8 - A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
Matthew 21:9 - The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
Matthew 21:10 - As he entered Jerusalem the whole city was thrown into an uproar, saying, “Who is this?”
Matthew 21:11 - And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”
Matthew 21:12 - Then Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all those who were selling and buying in the temple courts, and turned over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves.
Matthew 21:13 - And he said to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are turning it into a den of robbers!”
Matthew 21:14 - The blind and lame came to him in the temple courts, and he healed them.
Matthew 21:15 - But when the chief priests and the experts in the law saw the wonderful things he did and heard the children crying out in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became indignant
Matthew 21:16 - and said to him, “Do you hear what they are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouths of children and nursing infants you have prepared praise for yourself’?”
Matthew 21:17 - And leaving them, he went out of the city to Bethany and spent the night there.
Matthew 21:18 - Now early in the morning, as he returned to the city, he was hungry.
Matthew 21:19 - After noticing a fig tree by the road he went to it, but found nothing on it except leaves. He said to it, “Never again will there be fruit from you!” And the fig tree withered at once.
Matthew 21:20 - When the disciples saw it they were amazed, saying, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?”
Matthew 21:21 - Jesus answered them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.
Matthew 21:22 - And whatever you ask in prayer, if you believe, you will receive.”
Matthew 21:23 - Now after Jesus entered the temple courts, the chief priests and elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching and said, “By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?”
Matthew 21:24 - Jesus answered them, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer me then I will also tell you by what authority I do these things.
Matthew 21:25 - Where did John’s baptism come from? From heaven or from people?” They discussed this among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’
Matthew 21:26 - But if we say, ‘From people,’ we fear the crowd, for they all consider John to be a prophet.”
Matthew 21:27 - So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Then he said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
Matthew 21:28 - “What do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’
Matthew 21:29 - The boy answered, ‘I will not.’ But later he had a change of heart and went.
Matthew 21:30 - The father went to the other son and said the same thing. This boy answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but did not go.
Matthew 21:31 - Which of the two did his father’s will?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, tax collectors and prostitutes will go ahead of you into the kingdom of God!
Matthew 21:32 - For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe. Although you saw this, you did not later change your minds and believe him.
Matthew 21:33 - “Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a fence around it, dug a pit for its winepress, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and went on a journey.
Matthew 21:34 - When the harvest time was near, he sent his slaves to the tenants to collect his portion of the crop.
Matthew 21:35 - But the tenants seized his slaves, beat one, killed another, and stoned another.
Matthew 21:36 - Again he sent other slaves, more than the first, and they treated them the same way.
Matthew 21:37 - Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
Matthew 21:38 - But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and get his inheritance!’
Matthew 21:39 - So they seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.
Matthew 21:40 - Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”
Matthew 21:41 - They said to him, “He will utterly destroy those evil men! Then he will lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his portion at the harvest.”
Matthew 21:42 - Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?
Matthew 21:43 - For this reason I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.
Matthew 21:44 - The one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, and the one on whom it falls will be crushed.”
Matthew 21:45 - When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they realized that he was speaking about them.
Matthew 21:46 - They wanted to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowds, because the crowds regarded him as a prophet.
Philippians 2:7 - but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature.
Philippians 2:8 - He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross!
John 10:17 - This is why the Father loves me – because I lay down my life, so that I may take it back again.
John 10:18 - No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down of my own free will. I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it back again. This commandment I received from my Father.”
Genesis 22:2 - God said, “Take your son – your only son, whom you love, Isaac – and go to the land of Moriah! Offer him up there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will indicate to you.”
Genesis 22:3 - Early in the morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took two of his young servants with him, along with his son Isaac. When he had cut the wood for the burnt offering, he started out for the place God had spoken to him about.
Genesis 22:4 - On the third day Abraham caught sight of the place in the distance.
Matthew 26:1 - When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he told his disciples,
Matthew 26:2 - “You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”
Matthew 26:3 - Then the chief priests and the elders of the people met together in the palace of the high priest, who was named Caiaphas.
Matthew 26:4 - They planned to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.
Matthew 26:5 - But they said, “Not during the feast, so that there won’t be a riot among the people.”
Matthew 26:6 - Now while Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper,
Matthew 26:7 - a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of expensive perfumed oil, and she poured it on his head as he was at the table.
Matthew 26:8 - When the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?
Matthew 26:9 - It could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor!”
Matthew 26:10 - When Jesus learned of this, he said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a good service for me.
Matthew 26:11 - For you will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me!
Matthew 26:12 - When she poured this oil on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
Matthew 26:13 - I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”
Matthew 26:14 - Then one of the twelve, the one named Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
Matthew 26:15 - and said, “What will you give me to betray him into your hands?” So they set out thirty silver coins for him.
Matthew 26:16 - From that time on, Judas began looking for an opportunity to betray him.
Matthew 26:17 - Now on the first day of the feast of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?”
Matthew 26:18 - He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is near. I will observe the Passover with my disciples at your house.”’”
Matthew 26:19 - So the disciples did as Jesus had instructed them, and they prepared the Passover.
Matthew 26:20 - When it was evening, he took his place at the table with the twelve.
Matthew 26:21 - And while they were eating he said, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.”
Matthew 26:22 - They became greatly distressed and each one began to say to him, “Surely not I, Lord?”
Matthew 26:23 - He answered, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.
Matthew 26:24 - The Son of Man will go as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for him if he had never been born.”
Matthew 26:25 - Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus replied, “You have said it yourself.”
Matthew 26:26 - While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to his disciples, and said, “Take, eat, this is my body.”
Matthew 26:27 - And after taking the cup and giving thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you,
Mark 15:1 - Early in the morning, after forming a plan, the chief priests with the elders and the experts in the law and the whole Sanhedrin tied Jesus up, led him away, and handed him over to Pilate.
Isaiah 53:4 - But he lifted up our illnesses, he carried our pain; even though we thought he was being punished, attacked by God, and afflicted for something he had done.
Isaiah 53:5 - He was wounded because of our rebellious deeds, crushed because of our sins; he endured punishment that made us well; because of his wounds we have been healed.

Isaiah 53:10 - Though the Lord desired to crush him and make him ill, once restitution is made, he will see descendants and enjoy long life, and the Lord’s purpose will be accomplished through him.
Hebrews 11:17 - By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac. He had received the promises, yet he was ready to offer up his only son.
Hebrews 11:18 - God had told him, “Through Isaac descendants will carry on your name,”
Hebrews 11:19 - and he reasoned that God could even raise him from the dead, and in a sense he received him back from there.
Ephesians 5:2 - and live in love, just as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.
Genesis 8:20 - Noah built an altar to the Lord. He then took some of every kind of clean animal and clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
Psalms 118:27 - The Lord is God and he has delivered us. Tie the offering with ropes to the horns of the altar!
Galatians 3:13 - Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)
Hebrews 9:28 - so also, after Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, to those who eagerly await him he will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to bring salvation.
Matthew 27:2 - They tied him up, led him away, and handed him over to Pilate the governor.
