  • Numbers 1:16 - These are the men called from the community; they are leaders of their ancestral tribes, the heads of Israel’s clans.”

  • Numbers 26:46 - And the name of Asher’s daughter was Serah.

  • Numbers 26:48 - Naphtali’s descendants by their clans: the Jahzeelite clan from Jahzeel; the Gunite clan from Guni;

  • Numbers 26:50 - These were the Naphtali clans numbered by their registered men: 45,400.
  • Numbers 26:51 - These registered Israelite men numbered 601,730.
  • Numbers 26:52 - The Lord spoke to Moses,
  • Numbers 26:53 - “The land is to be divided among them as an inheritance based on the number of names.
  • Numbers 26:54 - Increase the inheritance for a large tribe and decrease it for a small one. Each is to be given its inheritance according to those who were registered in it.
  • Numbers 26:55 - The land is to be divided by lot; they will receive an inheritance according to the names of their ancestral tribes.
  • Numbers 26:56 - Each inheritance will be divided by lot among the larger and smaller tribes.”
  • Numbers 26:57 - These were the Levites registered by their clans: the Gershonite clan from Gershon; the Kohathite clan from Kohath; the Merarite clan from Merari.
  • Numbers 26:58 - These were the Levite family groups: the Libnite clan, the Hebronite clan, the Mahlite clan, the Mushite clan, and the Korahite clan. Kohath was the ancestor of Amram.
  • Numbers 26:59 - The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, a descendant of Levi, born to Levi in Egypt. She bore to Amram: Aaron, Moses, and their sister Miriam.
  • Numbers 26:60 - Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar were born to Aaron,
  • Numbers 26:61 - but Nadab and Abihu died when they presented unauthorized fire before the Lord.
  • Numbers 26:62 - Those registered were 23,000, every male one month old or more; they were not registered among the other Israelites, because no inheritance was given to them among the Israelites.
  • Numbers 26:63 - These were the ones registered by Moses and the priest Eleazar when they registered the Israelites on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho.
  • Numbers 26:64 - But among them there was not one of those who had been registered by Moses and the priest Aaron when they registered the Israelites in the Wilderness of Sinai.
  • Numbers 26:65 - For the Lord had said to them that they would all die in the wilderness. None of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

  • Genesis 25:8 - He took his last breath and died at a good old age, old and contented, and he was gathered to his people.

  • Numbers 1:4 - A man from each tribe is to be with you, each one the head of his ancestral family.

  • Numbers 1:7 - Nahshon son of Amminadab from Judah;
  • Numbers 1:8 - Nethanel son of Zuar from Issachar;
  • Numbers 1:9 - Eliab son of Helon from Zebulun;
  • Numbers 1:10 - from the sons of Joseph: Elishama son of Ammihud from Ephraim, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur from Manasseh;
  • Numbers 1:11 - Abidan son of Gideoni from Benjamin;
  • Numbers 1:12 - Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai from Dan;
  • Numbers 1:13 - Pagiel son of Ochran from Asher;
  • Numbers 1:14 - Eliasaph son of Deuel from Gad;
  • Numbers 1:15 - Ahira son of Enan from Naphtali.
  • Numbers 1:16 - These are the men called from the community; they are leaders of their ancestral tribes, the heads of Israel’s clans.”
  • Numbers 1:17 - So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,
  • Numbers 1:18 - and they assembled the whole community on the first day of the second month. They recorded their ancestry by their clans and their ancestral families, counting one by one the names of those twenty years old or more,
  • Numbers 1:19 - just as the Lord commanded Moses. He registered them in the Wilderness of Sinai:

  • Numbers 1:27 - those registered for the tribe of Judah numbered 74,600.

  • Numbers 1:29 - those registered for the tribe of Issachar numbered 54,400.

  • Numbers 1:33 - those registered for the tribe of Ephraim numbered 40,500.
  • Numbers 1:34 - The descendants of Manasseh: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
  • Numbers 1:35 - those registered for the tribe of Manasseh numbered 32,200.
  • Numbers 1:36 - The descendants of Benjamin: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
  • Numbers 1:37 - those registered for the tribe of Benjamin numbered 35,400.
  • Numbers 1:38 - The descendants of Dan: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
  • Numbers 1:39 - those registered for the tribe of Dan numbered 62,700.
  • Numbers 1:40 - The descendants of Asher: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
  • Numbers 1:41 - those registered for the tribe of Asher numbered 41,500.
  • Numbers 1:42 - The descendants of Naphtali: according to their family records by their clans and their ancestral families, counting the names of those twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in the army,
  • Numbers 1:43 - those registered for the tribe of Naphtali numbered 53,400.
  • Numbers 1:44 - These are the men Moses and Aaron registered, with the assistance of the twelve leaders of Israel; each represented his ancestral family.
  • Numbers 1:45 - So all the Israelites twenty years old or more, everyone who could serve in Israel’s army, were registered by their ancestral families.
  • Numbers 1:46 - All those registered numbered 603,550.
  • Numbers 1:47 - But the Levites were not registered with them by their ancestral tribe.
  • Numbers 1:48 - For the Lord had told Moses,
  • Numbers 1:49 - “Do not register or take a census of the tribe of Levi with the other Israelites.
  • Numbers 1:50 - Appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony, all its furnishings, and everything in it. They are to transport the tabernacle and all its articles, take care of it, and camp around it.
  • Numbers 1:51 - Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to stop at a campsite, the Levites are to set it up. Any unauthorized person who comes near it is to be put to death.
  • Numbers 1:52 - “The Israelites are to camp by their military divisions, each man with his encampment and under his banner.
  • Numbers 1:53 - The Levites are to camp around the tabernacle of the testimony and watch over it, so that no wrath will fall on the Israelite community.”

  • Romans 4:13 - For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would inherit the world was not through the law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.
  • Romans 4:14 - If those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made empty and the promise nullified,
  • Romans 4:15 - because the law produces wrath. And where there is no law, there is no transgression.
  • Romans 4:16 - This is why the promise is by faith, so that it may be according to grace, to guarantee it to all the descendants  — not only to the one who is of the law but also to the one who is of Abraham’s faith. He is the father of us all.
  • Romans 4:17 - As it is written: I have made you the father of many nations  — in the presence of the God in whom he believed, the one who gives life to the dead and calls things into existence that do not exist.
  • Romans 4:18 - He believed, hoping against hope, so that he became the father of many nations according to what had been spoken: So will your descendants be.
  • Numbers 26:1 - After the plague, the Lord said to Moses and Eleazar son of Aaron the priest,
  • Numbers 26:2 - “Take a census of the entire Israelite community by their ancestral families of those twenty years old or more who can serve in Israel’s army.”
  • Numbers 26:3 - So Moses and the priest Eleazar said to them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho,
  • Numbers 26:4 - “Take a census of those twenty years old or more, as the Lord had commanded Moses and the Israelites who came out of the land of Egypt.”
  • Numbers 26:5 - Reuben was the firstborn of Israel. Reuben’s descendants: the Hanochite clan from Hanoch; the Palluite clan from Pallu;
  • Numbers 26:6 - the Hezronite clan from Hezron; the Carmite clan from Carmi.
  • Numbers 26:7 - These were the Reubenite clans, and their registered men numbered 43,730.
  • Numbers 26:8 - The son of Pallu was Eliab.
  • Numbers 26:9 - The sons of Eliab were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. (It was Dathan and Abiram, chosen by the community, who fought against Moses and Aaron; they and Korah’s followers fought against the Lord.
  • Numbers 26:10 - The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them with Korah, when his followers died and the fire consumed 250 men. They serve as a warning sign.
  • Numbers 26:11 - The sons of Korah, however, did not die.)
  • Numbers 26:12 - Simeon’s descendants by their clans: the Nemuelite clan from Nemuel; the Jaminite clan from Jamin; the Jachinite clan from Jachin;
  • Numbers 26:13 - the Zerahite clan from Zerah; the Shaulite clan from Shaul.
  • Numbers 26:14 - These were the Simeonite clans, numbering 22,200 men.
  • Numbers 26:15 - Gad’s descendants by their clans: the Zephonite clan from Zephon; the Haggite clan from Haggi; the Shunite clan from Shuni;
  • Numbers 26:16 - the Oznite clan from Ozni; the Erite clan from Eri;
  • Numbers 26:17 - the Arodite clan from Arod; the Arelite clan from Areli.
  • Numbers 26:18 - These were the Gadite clans numbered by their registered men: 40,500.
  • Numbers 26:19 - Judah’s sons included Er and Onan, but they died in the land of Canaan.
  • Numbers 26:20 - Judah’s descendants by their clans: the Shelanite clan from Shelah; the Perezite clan from Perez; the Zerahite clan from Zerah.
  • Numbers 26:21 - The descendants of Perez: the Hezronite clan from Hezron; the Hamulite clan from Hamul.
  • Numbers 26:22 - These were Judah’s clans numbered by their registered men: 76,500.
  • Numbers 26:23 - Issachar’s descendants by their clans: the Tolaite clan from Tola; the Punite clan from Puvah;
  • Numbers 26:24 - the Jashubite clan from Jashub; the Shimronite clan from Shimron.
  • Numbers 26:25 - These were Issachar’s clans numbered by their registered men: 64,300.
  • Numbers 26:26 - Zebulun’s descendants by their clans: the Seredite clan from Sered; the Elonite clan from Elon; the Jahleelite clan from Jahleel.
  • Numbers 26:27 - These were the Zebulunite clans numbered by their registered men: 60,500.
  • Numbers 26:28 - Joseph’s descendants by their clans from Manasseh and Ephraim:
  • Numbers 26:29 - Manasseh’s descendants: the Machirite clan from Machir. Machir fathered Gilead; the Gileadite clan from Gilead.
  • Numbers 26:30 - These were Gilead’s descendants: the Iezerite clan from Iezer; the Helekite clan from Helek;
  • Numbers 26:31 - the Asrielite clan from Asriel; the Shechemite clan from Shechem;
  • Numbers 26:32 - the Shemidaite clan from Shemida; the Hepherite clan from Hepher;
  • Numbers 26:33 - Zelophehad son of Hepher had no sons — only daughters. The names of Zelophehad’s daughters were Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
  • Numbers 26:34 - These were Manasseh’s clans, numbered by their registered men: 52,700.
  • Numbers 26:35 - These were Ephraim’s descendants by their clans: the Shuthelahite clan from Shuthelah; the Becherite clan from Becher; the Tahanite clan from Tahan.
  • Numbers 26:36 - These were Shuthelah’s descendants: the Eranite clan from Eran.
  • Numbers 26:37 - These were the Ephraimite clans numbered by their registered men: 32,500. These were Joseph’s descendants by their clans.
  • Numbers 26:38 - Benjamin’s descendants by their clans: the Belaite clan from Bela; the Ashbelite clan from Ashbel; the Ahiramite clan from Ahiram;
  • Numbers 26:39 - the Shuphamite clan from Shupham; the Huphamite clan from Hupham.
  • Numbers 26:40 - Bela’s descendants from Ard and Naaman: the Ardite clan from Ard; the Naamite clan from Naaman.
  • Numbers 26:41 - These were the Benjaminite clans numbered by their registered men: 45,600.
  • Numbers 26:42 - These were Dan’s descendants by their clans: the Shuhamite clan from Shuham. These were the clans of Dan by their clans.
  • Numbers 26:43 - All the Shuhamite clans numbered by their registered men: 64,400.
  • Numbers 26:44 - Asher’s descendants by their clans: the Imnite clan from Imnah; the Ishvite clan from Ishvi; the Beriite clan from Beriah.
  • Numbers 26:45 - From Beriah’s descendants: the Heberite clan from Heber; the Malchielite clan from Malchiel.
  • Numbers 26:46 - And the name of Asher’s daughter was Serah.
  • Numbers 26:47 - These were the Asherite clans numbered by their registered men: 53,400.
  • Numbers 26:48 - Naphtali’s descendants by their clans: the Jahzeelite clan from Jahzeel; the Gunite clan from Guni;
  • Numbers 26:49 - the Jezerite clan from Jezer; the Shillemite clan from Shillem.
  • Numbers 26:50 - These were the Naphtali clans numbered by their registered men: 45,400.
  • Numbers 26:51 - These registered Israelite men numbered 601,730.
  • Numbers 26:52 - The Lord spoke to Moses,
  • Numbers 26:53 - “The land is to be divided among them as an inheritance based on the number of names.
  • Numbers 26:54 - Increase the inheritance for a large tribe and decrease it for a small one. Each is to be given its inheritance according to those who were registered in it.
  • Numbers 26:55 - The land is to be divided by lot; they will receive an inheritance according to the names of their ancestral tribes.
  • Numbers 26:56 - Each inheritance will be divided by lot among the larger and smaller tribes.”
  • Numbers 26:57 - These were the Levites registered by their clans: the Gershonite clan from Gershon; the Kohathite clan from Kohath; the Merarite clan from Merari.
  • Numbers 26:58 - These were the Levite family groups: the Libnite clan, the Hebronite clan, the Mahlite clan, the Mushite clan, and the Korahite clan. Kohath was the ancestor of Amram.
  • Numbers 26:59 - The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, a descendant of Levi, born to Levi in Egypt. She bore to Amram: Aaron, Moses, and their sister Miriam.
  • Numbers 26:60 - Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar were born to Aaron,
  • Numbers 26:61 - but Nadab and Abihu died when they presented unauthorized fire before the Lord.
  • Numbers 26:62 - Those registered were 23,000, every male one month old or more; they were not registered among the other Israelites, because no inheritance was given to them among the Israelites.
  • Numbers 26:63 - These were the ones registered by Moses and the priest Eleazar when they registered the Israelites on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho.
  • Numbers 26:64 - But among them there was not one of those who had been registered by Moses and the priest Aaron when they registered the Israelites in the Wilderness of Sinai.
  • Numbers 26:65 - For the Lord had said to them that they would all die in the wilderness. None of them was left except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
  • Genesis 13:16 - I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust of the earth, then your offspring could be counted.

  • Genesis 25:5 - Abraham gave everything he owned to Isaac.
  • Genesis 25:6 - But Abraham gave gifts to the sons of his concubines, and while he was still alive he sent them eastward, away from his son Isaac, to the land of the East.
  • Genesis 25:7 - This is the length of Abraham’s life: 175 years.
  • Genesis 25:8 - He took his last breath and died at a good old age, old and contented, and he was gathered to his people.
  • Genesis 25:9 - His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah near Mamre, in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hethite.
  • Genesis 25:10 - This was the field that Abraham bought from the Hethites. Abraham was buried there with his wife Sarah.
  • Genesis 25:11 - After Abraham’s death, God blessed his son Isaac, who lived near Beer-lahai-roi.
  • Genesis 25:12 - These are the family records of Abraham’s son Ishmael, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s slave, bore to Abraham.
  • Genesis 25:13 - These are the names of Ishmael’s sons; their names according to the family records are Nebaioth, Ishmael’s firstborn, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
  • Genesis 25:14 - Mishma, Dumah, Massa,
  • Genesis 25:15 - Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
  • Genesis 25:16 - These are Ishmael’s sons, and these are their names by their settlements and encampments: twelve leaders of their clans.
  • Genesis 25:17 - This is the length of Ishmael’s life: 137 years. He took his last breath and died, and was gathered to his people.
  • Genesis 25:18 - And they settled from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite Egypt as you go toward Asshur. He stayed near all his relatives.

  • Genesis 36:20 - These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
  • Genesis 36:21 - Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These are the chiefs among the Horites, the sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.
  • Genesis 36:22 - The sons of Lotan were Hori and Heman. Timna was Lotan’s sister.
  • Genesis 36:23 - These are Shobal’s sons: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
  • Genesis 36:24 - These are Zibeon’s sons: Aiah and Anah. This was the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness while he was pasturing the donkeys of his father Zibeon.
  • Genesis 36:25 - These are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah daughter of Anah.
  • Genesis 36:26 - These are Dishon’s sons: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.
  • Genesis 36:27 - These are Ezer’s sons: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
  • Genesis 36:28 - These are Dishan’s sons: Uz and Aran.

  • Genesis 36:32 - Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom; the name of his city was Dinhabah.
  • Genesis 36:33 - When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigned in his place.
  • Genesis 36:34 - When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
  • Genesis 36:35 - When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad reigned in his place. He defeated Midian in the field of Moab; the name of his city was Avith.
  • Genesis 36:36 - When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah reigned in his place.
  • Genesis 36:37 - When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the Euphrates River reigned in his place.
  • Genesis 36:38 - When Shaul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his place.
  • Genesis 36:39 - When Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, Hadar reigned in his place. His city was Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred daughter of Me-zahab.
  • Genesis 36:40 - These are the names of Esau’s chiefs, according to their families and their localities, by their names: chief Timna, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth,
  • Genesis 36:41 - chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,
  • Genesis 36:42 - chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,
  • Genesis 36:43 - chief Magdiel, and chief Iram. These are Edom’s chiefs, according to their settlements in the land they possessed. Esau was father of the Edomites.
  • Galatians 3:28 - There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male and female; since you are all one in Christ Jesus.
