Ezekiel 35:1 - Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Ezekiel 35:6 - therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will hand you over to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you since you have not hated bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.
Ezekiel 35:7 - I will make Mount Seir (Edom) a ruin and a desolate wasteland and I will cut off from it the one who passes through it and the one who returns.
Ezekiel 35:8 - I will fill its mountains with its slain; those killed by the sword will fall on your hills, and in your valleys, and in all your ravines.
Ezekiel 35:9 - I will make you an everlasting desolation and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know [without any doubt] that I am the Lord.
Ezekiel 35:10 - “Because you [descendants of Esau] have said, ‘These two nations [Israel and Judah] and these two lands shall be mine, and we will take possession of them,’ although the Lord was there,
Ezekiel 35:11 - therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will deal with you in accordance with the anger and envy you showed because of your hatred for them; and I will make Myself known among them [as Judge] when I judge and punish you.
Ezekiel 35:12 - Then you will know [without any doubt] that I am the Lord, and that I have heard all your scornful speeches which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They have been made a wasteland; they have been given to us as food.’
Ezekiel 35:13 - So you have boasted and spoken arrogantly against Me, and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard it.”
Ezekiel 35:14 - Thus says the Lord God, “While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you a wasteland.
Ezekiel 35:15 - As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you; you will be a desolate waste, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know [without any doubt] that I am the Lord.” ’
Obadiah 1:1 - The vision of Obadiah. Thus says the Lord God concerning Edom— We have heard a report from the Lord, And an ambassador has been sent among the nations, saying, “ Arise, and let us rise up against Edom for battle [with the Lord as commander]!”

Obadiah 1:8 - Will I not on that day,” says the Lord, “Destroy the wise men from Edom [removing all wisdom] And understanding from the mountain of Esau?
Obadiah 1:9 - And your mighty men shall be dismayed and demoralized, O Teman, So that everyone from the mountain of Esau may be cut off in the slaughter.

Isaiah 34:6 - The sword of the Lord is filled with blood [from sacrifices], It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah (Edom’s capital city) And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
Isaiah 34:7 - Wild oxen will also fall with them And the young bulls with the strong bulls; And their land will be soaked with blood, And their dust made greasy with fat.
Isaiah 34:8 - For the Lord has a day of vengeance, A year of retribution for the cause of Zion.
Isaiah 34:9 - The streams [of Edom] will be turned into pitch, And its dust into brimstone, And its land will become burning pitch.
Isaiah 34:10 - The burning will not be quenched night or day; Its smoke will go up forever. From generation to generation it will lie in ruins; No one will ever again pass through it.
Isaiah 34:11 - But the pelican and the porcupine will take possession of it; The owl and the raven will dwell in it. And He will stretch over it (Edom) the measuring line of desolation And the plumb line of emptiness.
Isaiah 34:12 - Its nobles—there is no one there Whom they may proclaim king— And all its princes will be nothing.

Jeremiah 49:7 - Concerning Edom. Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Is there no longer any wisdom in Teman? Has good counsel vanished from the intelligent and prudent? Has their wisdom decayed?
Jeremiah 49:8 - Flee, turn back, dwell in the depths [of the desert to escape the judgment of Edom], O inhabitants of Dedan, For I will bring the destruction of Esau (Edom) upon him When I inspect and punish him.

Ezekiel 35:6 - therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will hand you over to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you since you have not hated bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.
Ezekiel 35:7 - I will make Mount Seir (Edom) a ruin and a desolate wasteland and I will cut off from it the one who passes through it and the one who returns.
Ezekiel 35:8 - I will fill its mountains with its slain; those killed by the sword will fall on your hills, and in your valleys, and in all your ravines.
Ezekiel 35:9 - I will make you an everlasting desolation and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know [without any doubt] that I am the Lord.
Ezekiel 35:10 - “Because you [descendants of Esau] have said, ‘These two nations [Israel and Judah] and these two lands shall be mine, and we will take possession of them,’ although the Lord was there,
Ezekiel 35:11 - therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God, “I will deal with you in accordance with the anger and envy you showed because of your hatred for them; and I will make Myself known among them [as Judge] when I judge and punish you.
Ezekiel 35:12 - Then you will know [without any doubt] that I am the Lord, and that I have heard all your scornful speeches which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They have been made a wasteland; they have been given to us as food.’
Ezekiel 35:13 - So you have boasted and spoken arrogantly against Me, and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard it.”
Ezekiel 35:14 - Thus says the Lord God, “While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you a wasteland.
Ezekiel 35:15 - As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you; you will be a desolate waste, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know [without any doubt] that I am the Lord.” ’
Obadiah 1:1 - The vision of Obadiah. Thus says the Lord God concerning Edom— We have heard a report from the Lord, And an ambassador has been sent among the nations, saying, “ Arise, and let us rise up against Edom for battle [with the Lord as commander]!”
Obadiah 1:2 - “Behold [Edom], I shall [humiliate you and] make you small among the nations; You are greatly despised.
Obadiah 1:3 - The pride and arrogance of your heart have deceived you, You who live in the clefts and lofty security of the rock (Sela), Whose dwelling place is high, Who say [boastfully] in your heart, ‘Who will bring me down to earth?’
Obadiah 1:4 - Though you build [your nest] on high like the eagle, Though you set your nest among the stars, I will bring you down from there,” says the Lord.
Obadiah 1:5 - “If thieves came to you, If robbers by night— How you will be ruined!— Would they not steal only until they had enough? If grape gatherers came to you, Would they not leave some grapes for gleaning?
Obadiah 1:6 - How Esau (Edom) shall be ransacked [by men who come to ravage with divine approval]! How his hidden treasures shall be searched out!
Obadiah 1:7 - All the men allied with you Shall send you on your way to the border; The men who were at peace with you Shall deceive you and overpower you; Those who eat your bread [those you trust] Shall set a hostile ambush for you. (There is no understanding of it.)
Obadiah 1:8 - Will I not on that day,” says the Lord, “Destroy the wise men from Edom [removing all wisdom] And understanding from the mountain of Esau?
Obadiah 1:9 - And your mighty men shall be dismayed and demoralized, O Teman, So that everyone from the mountain of Esau may be cut off in the slaughter.
Isaiah 66:15 - For indeed, the Lord will come in fire And His chariots will be like the stormy wind, To render His anger with rage, And His rebuke with flames of fire.
Isaiah 66:16 - For the Lord will execute judgment by fire And by His sword on all mankind, And those slain by the Lord will be many.
Zephaniah 2:8 - “I have heard the taunting of Moab And the revilings of the sons of Ammon, With which they have taunted My people And become arrogant against their territory [by violating Israel’s boundary and trying to seize its land].
Zephaniah 2:9 - Therefore, as I live,” declares the Lord of hosts, The God of Israel, “ Moab will in fact become like Sodom And the sons of Ammon like Gomorrah, A land possessed by nettles and salt pits, And a perpetual desolation. The remnant of My people will plunder them And what is left of My nation will inherit them [as their own].”
Zephaniah 2:10 - This they shall have in return for their pride, because they have taunted and become arrogant against the people of the Lord of hosts.
Lamentations 4:21 - Rejoice and be glad, O Daughter of Edom, Who lives in the land of Uz. But the cup [of the wine of God’s wrath] will pass to you as well; You will become drunk and make yourself naked.
Isaiah 34:1 - Come near, you nations, to hear; and listen, O peoples! Let the earth and all that is in it hear, and the world and all that comes forth from it.
Isaiah 34:2 - For the Lord is angry at all the nations, And His wrath is against all their armies; He has utterly doomed them, He has given them over to slaughter.
Isaiah 34:3 - So their slain will be thrown out, And the stench of their corpses will rise, And the mountains will flow with their blood.
Isaiah 34:4 - All the host of heaven will be dissolved, And the skies will be rolled up like a scroll; All their hosts [the stars and the planets] will also wither away As a leaf withers from the vine, And as a fig withers from the fig tree.
Isaiah 34:5 - For My sword is satiated [with blood] in heaven; Indeed, it will come down for judgment on Edom And on the people whom I have doomed for destruction.
Isaiah 34:6 - The sword of the Lord is filled with blood [from sacrifices], It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah (Edom’s capital city) And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
Isaiah 34:7 - Wild oxen will also fall with them And the young bulls with the strong bulls; And their land will be soaked with blood, And their dust made greasy with fat.
Isaiah 34:8 - For the Lord has a day of vengeance, A year of retribution for the cause of Zion.
Isaiah 34:9 - The streams [of Edom] will be turned into pitch, And its dust into brimstone, And its land will become burning pitch.
Isaiah 34:10 - The burning will not be quenched night or day; Its smoke will go up forever. From generation to generation it will lie in ruins; No one will ever again pass through it.
Isaiah 34:11 - But the pelican and the porcupine will take possession of it; The owl and the raven will dwell in it. And He will stretch over it (Edom) the measuring line of desolation And the plumb line of emptiness.
Isaiah 34:12 - Its nobles—there is no one there Whom they may proclaim king— And all its princes will be nothing.
Isaiah 34:13 - Thorns will come up in its fortified palaces, Nettles and brambles in its fortified cities; It will be a haunt for jackals, An abode for ostriches.
Isaiah 34:14 - The creatures of the desert will encounter jackals And the hairy goat will call to its kind; Indeed, Lilith (night demon) will settle there And find herself a place of rest.
Isaiah 34:15 - There the arrow snake will make her nest and lay her eggs, And hatch them and gather her young under her protection; Indeed, the birds of prey will be gathered there [to breed], Every one with its own kind.
Isaiah 34:16 - Seek from the book of the Lord, and read: Not one of these [creatures] will be missing; None will lack its mate. For His mouth has commanded, And His Spirit has gathered them.
Isaiah 34:17 - The Lord has cast the lot for them, And His hand has divided and apportioned Edom to the wild beasts by measuring-line. They will possess it forever; From generation to generation they will dwell in it.
Proverbs 24:17 - Do not rejoice and gloat when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad [in self-righteousness] when he stumbles,
Proverbs 24:18 - Or the Lord will see your gloating and be displeased, And turn His anger away from your enemy.
Jeremiah 49:1 - Concerning the sons (descendants) of Ammon. Thus says the Lord: “Does Israel have no sons [to reclaim Gad from the Ammonites]? Has he no heir? Why then has Malcam taken possession of Gad And [why do] his people live in the cities [of Gad]?
Obadiah 1:12 - Do not gaze and gloat [in triumph] over your brother’s day, The day when his misfortune came. Do not rejoice over the sons of Judah In the day of their destruction; Do not speak arrogantly [jeering and maliciously mocking] In the day of their distress.
Jeremiah 25:9 - behold (hear this), I will send for all the families of the north,’ says the Lord, ‘and I will send for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant [to enact My plan], and I will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these surrounding nations; and I will utterly destroy them and make them a horror and a hissing [that is, an object of warning and ridicule] and an everlasting desolation.
Ezekiel 38:19 - In My zeal and in My blazing rage I declare that on that day there will most certainly be a great earthquake in the land of Israel,
Deuteronomy 4:24 - For the Lord your God is a consuming fire; He is a jealous (impassioned) God [demanding what is rightfully and uniquely His].
Psalms 83:4 - They have said, “Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation; Let the name of Israel be remembered no more.”

Psalms 83:8 - Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot [the Ammonites and the Moabites] and have been an arm [of strength] to them. Selah.
Psalms 83:9 - Deal with them as [You did] with Midian, As with Sisera and Jabin at the brook of Kishon,
Psalms 83:10 - Who were destroyed at En-dor, Who became like dung for the earth.
Psalms 83:11 - Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb And all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
Psalms 83:12 - Who said, “Let us possess for ourselves The pastures of God.”
Zechariah 1:15 - But I am very angry with the nations who are at ease and feel secure; for while I was only a little angry, they furthered the disaster [against the people of Israel].”
Psalms 137:7 - Remember, O Lord, against the sons of Edom, The day of [the fall of] Jerusalem, Who said “Down, down [with her] To her very foundation.”
Jeremiah 25:15 - For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, to me, “Take this cup of the wine of wrath from My hand and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it.
Jeremiah 25:16 - They will drink and stagger and go mad because of the sword that I will send among them.”
Jeremiah 25:17 - Then I (Jeremiah) took the cup from the Lord’s hand and made all the nations to whom the Lord had sent me drink it:
Jeremiah 25:18 - Jerusalem and the cities of Judah [being most guilty because their privileges were greatest], its kings and princes, to make them a horror, a ruin, a hissing and a curse, as it is to this day;
Jeremiah 25:19 - Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his princes, all his people,
Jeremiah 25:20 - and all the foreign (mixed) population, all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines (and [their cities of] Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod);
Jeremiah 25:21 - Edom, Moab, and the children of Ammon;
Jeremiah 25:22 - all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the islands and the coastlands across the [Mediterranean] Sea;
Jeremiah 25:23 - Dedan, Tema, Buz [the neighboring tribes north of Arabia], and all who clip off the side-growth of their hair;
Jeremiah 25:24 - all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the foreign population who live in the desert;
Jeremiah 25:25 - all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam (Persia), and all the kings of Media;
Jeremiah 25:26 - all the kings of the north, far and near, one after another—and all the kingdoms of the world which are on the face of the earth. And the king of Sheshach (Babylon) shall drink after them.
Jeremiah 25:27 - “Then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “Drink, be drunk, vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword which I will send among you.” ’
Jeremiah 25:28 - And if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you will say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “You shall surely drink!
Jeremiah 25:29 - For behold, I am beginning to work disaster in the city which is called by My Name, and shall you go unpunished? You will not be exempt from punishment, for I am calling for a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth,” says the Lord of hosts.’
Micah 7:8 - Do not rejoice over me [amid my tragedies], O my enemy! Though I fall, I will rise; Though I sit in the darkness [of distress], the Lord is a light for me.
Ezekiel 36:3 - therefore prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “For good reason they have made you a desolation, and they crushed you from every side so that you would become a possession of the rest of the nations and you have become the talk and the whispering of the people.” ’ ”
