  • Isaiah 61:1 - The spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,
  • Isaiah 61:2 - to announce the year when the Lord will show his favor, the day when our God will seek vengeance, to console all who mourn,
  • Isaiah 61:3 - to strengthen those who mourn in Zion, by giving them a turban, instead of ashes, oil symbolizing joy, instead of mourning, a garment symbolizing praise, instead of discouragement. They will be called oaks of righteousness, trees planted by the Lord to reveal his splendor.
  • Jeremiah 50:11 - “People of Babylonia, you plundered my people. That made you happy and glad. You frolic about like calves in a pasture. Your joyous sounds are like the neighs of a stallion.
  • Isaiah 40:11 - Like a shepherd he tends his flock; he gathers up the lambs with his arm; he carries them close to his heart; he leads the ewes along.
  • Amos 4:1 - Listen to this message, you cows of Bashan who live on Mount Samaria! You oppress the poor; you crush the needy. You say to your husbands, “Bring us more to drink!”
  • Amos 4:2 - The sovereign Lord confirms this oath by his own holy character: “Certainly the time is approaching when you will be carried away in baskets, every last one of you in fishermen’s pots.
  • Amos 4:3 - Each of you will go straight through the gaps in the walls; you will be thrown out toward Harmon.” The Lord is speaking!
  • Matthew 15:24 - So he answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
  • Matthew 18:10 - “See that you do not disdain one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.
  • Matthew 18:12 - What do you think? If someone owns a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go look for the one that went astray?
  • Matthew 18:13 - And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.
  • Matthew 18:14 - In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that one of these little ones be lost.
  • Jeremiah 23:15 - So then I, the Lord who rules over all, have something to say concerning the prophets of Jerusalem: ‘I will make these prophets eat the bitter food of suffering and drink the poison water of judgment. For the prophets of Jerusalem are the reason that ungodliness has spread throughout the land.’”

  • Ezekiel 34:11 - “‘For this is what the sovereign Lord says: Look, I myself will search for my sheep and seek them out.
  • Jeremiah 10:24 - Correct us, Lord, but only in due measure. Do not punish us in anger or you will reduce us to nothing.
  • Luke 15:4 - “Which one of you, if he has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, would not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go look for the one that is lost until he finds it?
  • Luke 15:5 - Then when he has found it, he places it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
  • Luke 15:6 - Returning home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, telling them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost.’
  • Luke 15:7 - I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need to repent.
  • Luke 5:31 - Jesus answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do.
  • Luke 5:32 - I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
  • Mark 2:17 - When Jesus heard this he said to them, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
  • Micah 4:6 - “In that day,” says the Lord, “I will gather the lame, and assemble the outcasts whom I injured.
  • Micah 4:7 - I will transform the lame into the nucleus of a new nation, and those far off into a mighty nation. The Lord will reign over them on Mount Zion, from that day forward and forevermore.”
  • Micah 7:14 - Shepherd your people with your shepherd’s rod, the flock that belongs to you, the one that lives alone in a thicket, in the midst of a pastureland. Allow them to graze in Bashan and Gilead, as they did in the old days.
  • Isaiah 10:16 - For this reason the sovereign master, the Lord who commands armies, will make his healthy ones emaciated. His majestic glory will go up in smoke.
  • Ezekiel 39:18 - You will eat the flesh of warriors and drink the blood of the princes of the earth – the rams, lambs, goats, and bulls, all of them fattened animals of Bashan.
  • Isaiah 5:17 - Lambs will graze as if in their pastures, amid the ruins the rich sojourners will graze.
  • Ezekiel 34:4 - You have not strengthened the weak, healed the sick, bandaged the injured, brought back the strays, or sought the lost, but with force and harshness you have ruled over them.
  • Luke 19:10 - For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
  • Isaiah 49:26 - I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will get drunk on their own blood, as if it were wine. Then all humankind will recognize that I am the Lord, your deliverer, your protector, the powerful ruler of Jacob.”
