Genesis 36:2 - Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite;
Genesis 36:3 - also Basemath, Ishmael’s daughter, the sister of Nebaioth.
Genesis 36:4 - Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, and Basemath gave birth to Reuel,
Genesis 36:5 - and Oholibamah gave birth to Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
Genesis 36:6 - Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all his household, and his livestock and all his cattle, and all his property which he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to another land away from his brother Jacob.
Genesis 36:7 - For their possessions had become too great for them to live together, and the land where they resided could not support them because of their livestock.
Genesis 36:8 - So Esau lived in the hill country of Seir; Esau is Edom.
Genesis 36:9 - These then are the records of the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir.

Isaiah 34:1 - Come near, you nations, to hear; and listen, you peoples! Let the earth and all it contains hear, and the world and all that springs from it.
Isaiah 34:2 - For the Lord’s anger is against all the nations, And His wrath against all their armies. He has utterly destroyed them, He has turned them over to slaughter.

Isaiah 34:6 - The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
Isaiah 34:7 - Wild oxen will also fall with them And young bulls with strong ones; So their land will be soaked with blood, And their dust become greasy with fat.
Isaiah 34:8 - For the Lord has a day of vengeance, A year of retribution for the cause of Zion.

Isaiah 34:11 - But pelican and hedgehog will possess it, And owl and raven will dwell in it; And He will stretch over it the line of desolation And the plumb line of emptiness.
Isaiah 34:12 - Its nobles—there is no one there Whom they may proclaim king— And all its officials will be nothing.
Isaiah 34:13 - Thorns will come up in its fortified towers, Weeds and thistles in its fortified cities; It will also be a haunt of jackals And a habitat of ostriches.

Isaiah 34:16 - Seek from the book of the Lord, and read: Not one of these will be missing; None will lack its mate. For His mouth has commanded, And His Spirit has gathered them.
Isaiah 34:17 - He has cast the lot for them, And His hand has divided it to them by the measuring line. They shall possess it forever; From generation to generation they will dwell in it.
Amos 1:11 - This is what the Lord says: “For three offenses of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, Because he pursued his brother with the sword And stifled his compassion; His anger also tore continually, And he maintained his fury forever.

Jeremiah 49:9 - If grape pickers came to you, Would they not leave gleanings? If thieves came by night, They would destroy only what was sufficient for them.
Jeremiah 49:10 - But I have stripped Esau bare, I have uncovered his hiding places So that he will not be able to conceal himself; His offspring have been destroyed along with his brothers And his neighbors, and he no longer exists.
Jeremiah 49:11 - Leave your orphans behind, I will keep them alive; And let your widows trust in Me.”
Jeremiah 49:12 - For this is what the Lord says: “Behold, those who were not sentenced to drink the cup will certainly drink it, so are you the one who will be held completely blameless? You will not be held blameless, but you will certainly drink it.
Jeremiah 49:13 - For I have sworn by Myself,” declares the Lord, “that Bozrah will become an object of horror, a disgrace, a wasteland, and a curse; and all its cities will become permanent ruins.”
Jeremiah 49:14 - I have heard a message from the Lord, And a messenger is being sent among the nations, saying, “Gather yourselves together and come against her, And rise up for battle!”
Jeremiah 49:15 - “For behold, I have made you small among the nations, Despised among people.
Jeremiah 49:16 - As for the terror you cause, The arrogance of your heart has deceived you, You who live in the clefts of the rock, Who occupy the height of the hill. Though you make your nest as high as an eagle’s, I will bring you down from there,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 49:17 - “Edom will become an object of horror; everyone who passes by it will be appalled and will hiss at all its wounds.
Jeremiah 49:18 - Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah with its neighbors,” says the Lord, “no one will live there, nor will anyone of mankind reside in it.
Jeremiah 49:19 - Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thicket of the Jordan to a perennially watered pasture; for in an instant I will chase him away from it, and I will appoint over it whoever is chosen. For who is like Me, and who will summon Me into court? And who then is the shepherd who can stand against Me?”
Jeremiah 49:20 - Therefore hear the plan of the Lord which He has planned against Edom, and His purposes which He has in mind against the inhabitants of Teman: they will certainly drag them off, even the little ones of the flock; He will certainly make their pasture desolate because of them.
Jeremiah 49:21 - The earth has quaked at the noise of their downfall. There is an outcry! The noise of it has been heard at the Red Sea.
Jeremiah 49:22 - Behold, He will mount up and swoop like an eagle, and spread out His wings against Bozrah; and the hearts of the warriors of Edom on that day will be like the heart of a woman in labor.

Ezekiel 25:11 - So I will execute judgments on Moab, and they will know that I am the Lord.”
Ezekiel 25:12 - ‘The Lord God says this: “Because Edom has acted against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has incurred great guilt, and avenged themselves upon them,”

Genesis 36:1 - Now these are the records of the generations of Esau (that is, Edom).
Genesis 36:2 - Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite;
Genesis 36:3 - also Basemath, Ishmael’s daughter, the sister of Nebaioth.
Genesis 36:4 - Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, and Basemath gave birth to Reuel,
Genesis 36:5 - and Oholibamah gave birth to Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
Genesis 36:6 - Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all his household, and his livestock and all his cattle, and all his property which he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to another land away from his brother Jacob.
Genesis 36:7 - For their possessions had become too great for them to live together, and the land where they resided could not support them because of their livestock.
Genesis 36:8 - So Esau lived in the hill country of Seir; Esau is Edom.
Genesis 36:9 - These then are the records of the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir.
Genesis 36:10 - These are the names of Esau’s sons: Eliphaz the son of Esau’s wife Adah, and Reuel the son of Esau’s wife Basemath.
Genesis 36:11 - The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.

Isaiah 34:1 - Come near, you nations, to hear; and listen, you peoples! Let the earth and all it contains hear, and the world and all that springs from it.
Isaiah 34:2 - For the Lord’s anger is against all the nations, And His wrath against all their armies. He has utterly destroyed them, He has turned them over to slaughter.
Isaiah 34:3 - So their slain will be thrown out, And their corpses will give off their stench, And the mountains will be drenched with their blood.
Isaiah 34:4 - And all the heavenly lights will wear away, And the sky will be rolled up like a scroll; All its lights will also wither away As a leaf withers from the vine, Or as one withers from the fig tree.
Isaiah 34:5 - For My sword has drunk its fill in heaven; Behold it shall descend for judgment upon Edom, And upon the people whom I have designated for destruction.
Isaiah 34:6 - The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, It drips with fat, with the blood of lambs and goats, With the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
Isaiah 34:7 - Wild oxen will also fall with them And young bulls with strong ones; So their land will be soaked with blood, And their dust become greasy with fat.
Isaiah 34:8 - For the Lord has a day of vengeance, A year of retribution for the cause of Zion.
Isaiah 34:9 - Its streams will be turned into pitch, And its loose earth into brimstone, And its land will become burning pitch.
Isaiah 34:10 - It will not be extinguished night or day; Its smoke will go up forever. From generation to generation it will be desolate; None will pass through it forever and ever.
Isaiah 34:11 - But pelican and hedgehog will possess it, And owl and raven will dwell in it; And He will stretch over it the line of desolation And the plumb line of emptiness.

Isaiah 34:17 - He has cast the lot for them, And His hand has divided it to them by the measuring line. They shall possess it forever; From generation to generation they will dwell in it.
Amos 1:11 - This is what the Lord says: “For three offenses of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, Because he pursued his brother with the sword And stifled his compassion; His anger also tore continually, And he maintained his fury forever.

Jeremiah 49:9 - If grape pickers came to you, Would they not leave gleanings? If thieves came by night, They would destroy only what was sufficient for them.
Jeremiah 49:10 - But I have stripped Esau bare, I have uncovered his hiding places So that he will not be able to conceal himself; His offspring have been destroyed along with his brothers And his neighbors, and he no longer exists.
Jeremiah 49:11 - Leave your orphans behind, I will keep them alive; And let your widows trust in Me.”
Jeremiah 49:12 - For this is what the Lord says: “Behold, those who were not sentenced to drink the cup will certainly drink it, so are you the one who will be held completely blameless? You will not be held blameless, but you will certainly drink it.
Jeremiah 49:13 - For I have sworn by Myself,” declares the Lord, “that Bozrah will become an object of horror, a disgrace, a wasteland, and a curse; and all its cities will become permanent ruins.”
Jeremiah 49:14 - I have heard a message from the Lord, And a messenger is being sent among the nations, saying, “Gather yourselves together and come against her, And rise up for battle!”
Jeremiah 49:15 - “For behold, I have made you small among the nations, Despised among people.
Jeremiah 49:16 - As for the terror you cause, The arrogance of your heart has deceived you, You who live in the clefts of the rock, Who occupy the height of the hill. Though you make your nest as high as an eagle’s, I will bring you down from there,” declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 49:17 - “Edom will become an object of horror; everyone who passes by it will be appalled and will hiss at all its wounds.
Jeremiah 49:18 - Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah with its neighbors,” says the Lord, “no one will live there, nor will anyone of mankind reside in it.
Jeremiah 49:19 - Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thicket of the Jordan to a perennially watered pasture; for in an instant I will chase him away from it, and I will appoint over it whoever is chosen. For who is like Me, and who will summon Me into court? And who then is the shepherd who can stand against Me?”
Jeremiah 49:20 - Therefore hear the plan of the Lord which He has planned against Edom, and His purposes which He has in mind against the inhabitants of Teman: they will certainly drag them off, even the little ones of the flock; He will certainly make their pasture desolate because of them.
Jeremiah 49:21 - The earth has quaked at the noise of their downfall. There is an outcry! The noise of it has been heard at the Red Sea.
Jeremiah 49:22 - Behold, He will mount up and swoop like an eagle, and spread out His wings against Bozrah; and the hearts of the warriors of Edom on that day will be like the heart of a woman in labor.
