2 Kings 17:21 - The Lord took control of Israel away from the royal house of David. The Israelites made Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, their king. Jeroboam tried to get Israel to stop following the Lord. He caused them to commit a terrible sin.
2 Kings 17:22 - The Israelites were stubborn. They continued to commit all the sins Jeroboam had committed. They didn’t turn away from them.
2 Kings 17:23 - So the Lord removed them from his land. That’s what he had warned them he would do. He had given that warning through all his servants the prophets. So the people of Israel were taken away from their country. They were forced to go to Assyria. And that’s where they still are.
Acts 13:45 - When the Jews saw the crowds, they became very jealous. They began to disagree with what Paul was saying. They said evil things against him.
Acts 13:46 - Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly. “We had to speak God’s word to you first,” they said. “But you don’t accept it. You don’t think you are good enough for eternal life. So now we are turning to the Gentiles.
Proverbs 29:1 - Whoever still won’t obey after being warned many times will suddenly be destroyed. Nothing can save them.
Jeremiah 44:4 - Again and again I sent my servants the prophets. They said, ‘Don’t worship other gods! The Lord hates it!’
Jeremiah 44:5 - But the people didn’t listen. They didn’t pay any attention. They didn’t turn from their sinful ways. They didn’t stop burning incense to other gods.
Hebrews 10:26 - What if we keep sinning on purpose? What if we do it even after we know the truth? Then there is no offering for our sins.
Hebrews 10:27 - All we can do is to wait in fear for God to judge. His blazing fire will burn up his enemies.
1 Thessalonians 4:6 - None of you should sin against your brother or sister by doing that. You should not take advantage of your brother or sister. The Lord will punish everyone who commits these kinds of sins. We have already told you and warned you about this.
Luke 10:10 - But what if you enter a town and are not welcomed? Then go into its streets and say,
Luke 10:11 - ‘We wipe from our feet even the dust of your town. We do it to warn you. But here is what you can be sure of. God’s kingdom has come near.’
2 Thessalonians 1:8 - He will punish those who don’t know God. He will punish those who don’t obey the good news about our Lord Jesus.
2 Thessalonians 1:9 - They will be destroyed forever. They will be shut out of heaven. They will never see the glory of the Lord’s strength.
Ezekiel 3:18 - Suppose I say to a sinful person, ‘You can be sure you will die.’ And you do not warn them. You do not try to get them to change their evil ways in order to save their life. Then that sinful person will die because they have sinned. And I will hold you responsible for their death.
Isaiah 49:4 - But I said, “In spite of my hard work, I feel as if I haven’t accomplished anything. I’ve used up all my strength. It seems as if everything I’ve done is worthless. But the Lord will give me what I should receive. My God will reward me.”
Isaiah 49:5 - The Lord formed me in my mother’s body to be his servant. He wanted me to bring the family of Jacob back to him. He wanted me to gather the people of Israel to himself. The Lord will honor me. My God will give me strength.
2 Chronicles 36:15 - The Lord, the God of Israel, sent word to his people through his messengers. He sent it to them again and again. He took pity on his people. He also took pity on the temple where he lived.
2 Chronicles 36:16 - But God’s people made fun of his messengers. They hated his words. They laughed at his prophets. Finally the Lord’s great anger was stirred up against his people. Nothing could save them.
Ezekiel 3:21 - But suppose you do warn a godly person not to sin. And they do not sin. Then you can be sure that they will live because they listened to your warning. And you will have saved yourself.”
2 Corinthians 2:15 - God considers us to be the pleasing smell that Christ is spreading. He is spreading it among people who are being saved and people who are dying.
2 Corinthians 2:16 - To those who are dying, we are the smell of death. To those who are being saved, we are the perfume of life. Who is able to do this work?
2 Corinthians 2:17 - Unlike many people, we aren’t selling God’s word to make money. In fact, it is just the opposite. Because of Christ we speak honestly before God. We speak like people God has sent.
Hebrews 2:1 - So we must pay the most careful attention to what we have heard. Then we will not drift away from it.
Hebrews 2:2 - Even the message God spoke through angels had to be obeyed. Every time people broke the Law, they were punished. Every time they didn’t obey, they were punished.
Hebrews 2:3 - Then how will we escape if we don’t pay attention to God’s great salvation? The Lord first announced this salvation. Those who heard him gave us the message about it.
Hebrews 12:25 - Be sure that you don’t say no to the one who speaks. People did not escape when they said no to the one who warned them on earth. And what if we turn away from the one who warns us from heaven? How much less will we escape!
Jeremiah 42:19 - “The Lord has spoken to you who are left in Judah. He has said, ‘Do not go to Egypt.’ Here is something you can be sure of. I am warning you about it today.
Jeremiah 42:20 - You made a big mistake when you asked me to pray to the Lord your God. You said, ‘Pray to the Lord our God for us. Tell us everything he says. We’ll do it.’
Jeremiah 42:21 - I have told you today what the Lord your God wants you to do. But you still haven’t obeyed him. You haven’t done anything he sent me to tell you to do.
Jeremiah 42:22 - So here is something else you can be sure of. You will die of war, hunger and plague. You want to go and make your homes in Egypt. But you will die there.”
1 Timothy 4:16 - Be careful of how you live and what you believe. Never give up. Then you will save yourself and those who hear you.
Acts 20:26 - So I tell you today that I am not guilty if any of you don’t believe.
Ezekiel 33:5 - They heard the sound of the trumpet. But they did not pay any attention to the warning. So what happened to them was their own fault. If they had paid attention, they would have saved themselves.
Acts 18:5 - Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia. Then Paul spent all his time preaching. He was a witness to the Jews that Jesus was the Messiah.
Acts 18:6 - But they opposed Paul. They treated him badly. So he shook out his clothes in protest. Then he said to them, “God’s judgment against you will be your own fault! Don’t blame me for it! From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
Ezekiel 14:20 - And suppose Noah, Daniel and Job were in that land. Then they could not save their own sons or daughters. They could save only themselves by doing what is right. And that is just as sure as I am alive,” announces the Lord and King.
