Jeremiah 38:23 - “All your wives and children will be brought out to the Babylonians. You yourself won’t escape from them. You will be captured by the king of Babylon. And this city will be burned down.”
Ezekiel 21:25 - King Zedekiah, your day has come. You are an unholy and evil prince in Israel. The day for you to be punished is here.
Ezekiel 21:26 - The Lord and King says, “Take off your turban. Remove your crown. Things will not be as they were in the past. Those who are considered not important will be honored. And those who are honored will be considered not important.
Ezekiel 21:27 - Jerusalem will fall. I will destroy it. It will not be rebuilt until the true king comes. After all, the kingdom belongs to him. I will give it to him.
Hosea 3:4 - So the people of Israel will live for a long time without a king or prince. They won’t have sacrifices or sacred stones. They won’t have sacred linen aprons or statues of family gods.
Ezekiel 17:18 - Zedekiah didn’t keep his promise to Nebuchadnezzar and broke his treaty. Zedekiah had made a firm promise to keep it. But he broke it anyway. So he will not escape.
Ezekiel 17:19 - “ ‘The Lord and King says, “Zedekiah didn’t keep the promise he made in my name. He broke the treaty. So I will pay him back. And that is just as sure as I am alive.
Ezekiel 17:20 - I will spread out my net to catch him. He will be caught in my trap. I will bring him to Babylon. I will judge him there because he was not faithful to me.
Psalm 79:7 - They have swallowed up the people of Jacob. They have destroyed Israel’s homeland.
Ezekiel 15:4 - Suppose it is thrown in the fire to be burned. And the fire burns both ends and blackens the middle. Then is the wood useful for anything?
Genesis 49:10 - The right to rule will not leave Judah. The ruler’s scepter will not be taken from between his feet. It will be his until the king it belongs to will come. The nations will obey that king.

Ezekiel 19:1 - “Sing a song of sadness about Israel’s princes.
Ezekiel 19:11 - Its branches were strong. Each was good enough to be made into a ruler’s scepter. The vine grew high above all the leaves. It stood out because it was so tall and had so many branches.
2 Kings 24:20 - The enemies of Jerusalem and Judah attacked them because the Lord was angry. In the end the Lord threw them out of his land. Zedekiah also refused to remain under the control of Nebuchadnezzar.
Isaiah 9:18 - What is evil burns like a fire. It burns up bushes and thorns. It sets the forest on fire. It sends up a huge column of smoke.
Isaiah 9:19 - The Lord rules over all. When he gets angry, he will burn up the land. The people will burn in the fire. They will not spare one another.
Psalm 80:15 - Guard the root you have planted with your powerful right hand. Take care of the branch you have raised up for yourself.
Psalm 80:16 - Your vine has been cut down and burned in the fire. You have been angry with us, and we are dying.
