Psalm 78:35 - They remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.
Psalm 78:36 - But then they would flatter him with their mouths, lying to him with their tongues;
Jeremiah 34:8 - The word came to Jeremiah from the Lord after King Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people in Jerusalem to proclaim freedom for the slaves.
Jeremiah 34:9 - Everyone was to free their Hebrew slaves, both male and female; no one was to hold a fellow Hebrew in bondage.
Jeremiah 34:10 - So all the officials and people who entered into this covenant agreed that they would free their male and female slaves and no longer hold them in bondage. They agreed, and set them free.
Jeremiah 34:11 - But afterward they changed their minds and took back the slaves they had freed and enslaved them again.
Jeremiah 34:12 - Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:
Jeremiah 34:13 - “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I made a covenant with your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. I said,
Jeremiah 34:14 - ‘Every seventh year each of you must free any fellow Hebrews who have sold themselves to you. After they have served you six years, you must let them go free.’ Your ancestors, however, did not listen to me or pay attention to me.
Jeremiah 34:15 - Recently you repented and did what is right in my sight: Each of you proclaimed freedom to your own people. You even made a covenant before me in the house that bears my Name.
Jeremiah 34:16 - But now you have turned around and profaned my name; each of you has taken back the male and female slaves you had set free to go where they wished. You have forced them to become your slaves again.
Exodus 5:2 - Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go.”
Exodus 10:8 - Then Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. “Go, worship the Lord your God,” he said. “But tell me who will be going.”
Exodus 10:9 - Moses answered, “We will go with our young and our old, with our sons and our daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to celebrate a festival to the Lord.”
Exodus 10:10 - Pharaoh said, “The Lord be with you—if I let you go, along with your women and children! Clearly you are bent on evil.
Exodus 10:11 - No! Have only the men go and worship the Lord, since that’s what you have been asking for.” Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh’s presence.
Acts 8:24 - Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”
1 Kings 13:6 - Then the king said to the man of God, “Intercede with the Lord your God and pray for me that my hand may be restored.” So the man of God interceded with the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored and became as it was before.
Numbers 21:7 - The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.
Exodus 12:31 - During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the Lord as you have requested.
Exodus 12:32 - Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me.”
Exodus 8:25 - Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God here in the land.”
Exodus 8:26 - But Moses said, “That would not be right. The sacrifices we offer the Lord our God would be detestable to the Egyptians. And if we offer sacrifices that are detestable in their eyes, will they not stone us?
Exodus 8:27 - We must take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God, as he commands us.”
Exodus 8:28 - Pharaoh said, “I will let you go to offer sacrifices to the Lord your God in the wilderness, but you must not go very far. Now pray for me.”
Exodus 9:28 - Pray to the Lord, for we have had enough thunder and hail. I will let you go; you don’t have to stay any longer.”
Exodus 10:17 - Now forgive my sin once more and pray to the Lord your God to take this deadly plague away from me.”
