Deuteronomy 17:16 - The king must not get large numbers of horses for himself. He must not make the people return to Egypt to get more horses. The Lord has told you, “You must not go back there again.”
Deuteronomy 20:8 - The officers will continue, “Is anyone afraid or scared? Let him go home. Then the other soldiers won’t lose hope too.”
Acts 15:38 - But Paul didn’t think it was wise to take him. Mark had deserted them in Pamphylia. He hadn’t continued with them in their work.
Exodus 16:2 - In the desert the whole community told Moses and Aaron they weren’t happy with them.
Exodus 16:3 - The Israelites said to them, “We wish the Lord had put us to death in Egypt. There we sat around pots of meat. We ate all the food we wanted. But you have brought us out into this desert. You must want this entire community to die of hunger.”
Luke 14:27 - Whoever doesn’t carry their cross and follow me can’t be my disciple.
Luke 14:28 - “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you sit down first and figure out how much it will cost? Then you will see whether you have enough money to finish it.
Luke 14:29 - Suppose you start building and are not able to finish. Then everyone who sees what you have done will laugh at you.
Luke 14:30 - They will say, ‘This person started to build but wasn’t able to finish.’
Luke 14:31 - “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. And suppose he has 10,000 men, while the other has 20,000 coming against him. Won’t he first sit down and think about whether he can win?
Luke 14:32 - And suppose he decides he can’t win. Then he will send some men to ask how peace can be made. He will do this while the other king is still far away.
1 Kings 8:47 - But suppose your people change their ways in the land where they are held as prisoners. They turn away from their sins. They beg you to help them in the land of those who won the battle over them. They say, ‘We have sinned. We’ve done what is wrong. We’ve done what is evil.’
Numbers 14:1 - That night all the members of the community raised their voices. They wept out loud.
Numbers 14:2 - The Israelites spoke against Moses and Aaron. The whole community said to them, “We wish we had died in Egypt or even in this desert.
Numbers 14:3 - Why is the Lord bringing us to this land? We’re going to be killed by swords. Our enemies will capture our wives and children. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?”
Numbers 14:4 - They said to one another, “We should choose another leader. We should go back to Egypt.”
Nehemiah 9:17 - They refused to listen to you. They forgot the miracles you had done among them. So they became stubborn. When they refused to obey you, they appointed a leader for themselves. They wanted to go back to being slaves in Egypt. But you are a God who forgives. You are gracious. You are tender and kind. You are slow to get angry. You are full of love. So you didn’t desert them.
Exodus 14:11 - They said to Moses, “Why did you bring us to the desert to die? Weren’t there any graves in Egypt? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?
Exodus 14:12 - We told you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone. Let us serve the Egyptians.’ It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die here in the desert!”
