Nehemiah 9:19 - you in your great mercies did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of cloud to lead them in the way did not depart from them by day, nor the pillar of fire by night to light for them the way by which they should go.
Nehemiah 9:20 - You gave your good Spirit to instruct them and did not withhold your manna from their mouth and gave them water for their thirst.
Nehemiah 9:21 - Forty years you sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell.
Nehemiah 9:22 - “And you gave them kingdoms and peoples and allotted to them every corner. So they took possession of the land of Sihon king of Heshbon and the land of Og king of Bashan.
Nehemiah 9:23 - You multiplied their children as the stars of heaven, and you brought them into the land that you had told their fathers to enter and possess.
Psalms 105:39 - He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light by night.
Psalms 105:40 - They asked, and he brought quail, and gave them bread from heaven in abundance.
Psalms 105:41 - He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed through the desert like a river.
Psalms 78:14 - In the daytime he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a fiery light.
Psalms 78:15 - He split rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink abundantly as from the deep.
Psalms 78:16 - He made streams come out of the rock and caused waters to flow down like rivers.
Psalms 78:17 - Yet they sinned still more against him, rebelling against the Most High in the desert.
Psalms 78:18 - They tested God in their heart by demanding the food they craved.
Psalms 78:19 - They spoke against God, saying, “Can God spread a table in the wilderness?
Psalms 78:20 - He struck the rock so that water gushed out and streams overflowed. Can he also give bread or provide meat for his people?”
Psalms 78:21 - Therefore, when the Lord heard, he was full of wrath; a fire was kindled against Jacob; his anger rose against Israel,
Psalms 78:22 - because they did not believe in God and did not trust his saving power.
Psalms 78:23 - Yet he commanded the skies above and opened the doors of heaven,
Psalms 78:24 - and he rained down on them manna to eat and gave them the grain of heaven.
Psalms 78:25 - Man ate of the bread of the angels; he sent them food in abundance.
Psalms 78:26 - He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens, and by his power he led out the south wind;
Psalms 78:27 - he rained meat on them like dust, winged birds like the sand of the seas;
Psalms 78:28 - he let them fall in the midst of their camp, all around their dwellings.
Numbers 11:14 - I am not able to carry all this people alone; the burden is too heavy for me.
Exodus 16:1 - They set out from Elim, and all the congregation of the people of Israel came to the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had departed from the land of Egypt.
Exodus 16:2 - And the whole congregation of the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness,
Exodus 16:3 - and the people of Israel said to them, “Would that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots and ate bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”
Exodus 16:4 - Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not.
Exodus 16:5 - On the sixth day, when they prepare what they bring in, it will be twice as much as they gather daily.”
Exodus 16:6 - So Moses and Aaron said to all the people of Israel, “At evening you shall know that it was the Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
Exodus 16:7 - and in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord, because he has heard your grumbling against the Lord. For what are we, that you grumble against us?”
Exodus 16:8 - And Moses said, “When the Lord gives you in the evening meat to eat and in the morning bread to the full, because the Lord has heard your grumbling that you grumble against him—what are we? Your grumbling is not against us but against the Lord.”
Exodus 16:9 - Then Moses said to Aaron, “Say to the whole congregation of the people of Israel, ‘Come near before the Lord, for he has heard your grumbling.’”
Exodus 16:10 - And as soon as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the people of Israel, they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud.
Exodus 16:11 - And the Lord said to Moses,
Exodus 16:12 - “I have heard the grumbling of the people of Israel. Say to them, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’”
Exodus 16:13 - In the evening quail came up and covered the camp, and in the morning dew lay around the camp.
Exodus 16:14 - And when the dew had gone up, there was on the face of the wilderness a fine, flake-like thing, fine as frost on the ground.
Exodus 16:15 - When the people of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat.
Exodus 16:16 - This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Gather of it, each one of you, as much as he can eat. You shall each take an omer, according to the number of the persons that each of you has in his tent.’”
Exodus 16:17 - And the people of Israel did so. They gathered, some more, some less.
Isaiah 40:11 - He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.
Deuteronomy 32:10 - “He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
Deuteronomy 32:11 - Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that flutters over its young, spreading out its wings, catching them, bearing them on its pinions,
