The Message - It wasn’t long before some Jews showed up from Judea insisting that everyone be circumcised: “If you’re not circumcised in the Mosaic fashion, you can’t be saved.” Paul and Barnabas were up on their feet at once in fierce protest. The church decided to resolve the matter by sending Paul, Barnabas, and a few others to put it before the apostles and leaders in Jerusalem.

Colossians 2:8 - Be careful that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deceit based on human tradition, based on the elements of the world, rather than Christ.
Genesis 17:10 - This is my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you, which you are to keep: Every one of your males must be circumcised.
Genesis 17:11 - You must circumcise the flesh of your foreskin to serve as a sign of the covenant between me and you.
Genesis 17:12 - Throughout your generations, every male among you is to be circumcised at eight days old — every male born in your household or purchased from any foreigner and not your offspring.
Genesis 17:13 - Whether born in your household or purchased, he must be circumcised. My covenant will be marked in your flesh as a permanent covenant.
Genesis 17:14 - If any male is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that man will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.”
Genesis 17:15 - God said to Abraham, “As for your wife Sarai, do not call her Sarai, for Sarah will be her name.
Genesis 17:16 - I will bless her; indeed, I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she will produce nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”
Genesis 17:17 - Abraham fell facedown. Then he laughed and said to himself, “Can a child be born to a hundred-year-old man? Can Sarah, a ninety-year-old woman, give birth?”
Genesis 17:18 - So Abraham said to God, “If only Ishmael were acceptable to you!”
Genesis 17:19 - But God said, “No. Your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will confirm my covenant with him as a permanent covenant for his future offspring.
Genesis 17:20 - As for Ishmael, I have heard you. I will certainly bless him; I will make him fruitful and will multiply him greatly. He will father twelve tribal leaders, and I will make him into a great nation.
Genesis 17:21 - But I will confirm my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this time next year.”
Genesis 17:22 - When he finished talking with him, God withdrew from Abraham.
Genesis 17:23 - So Abraham took his son Ishmael and those born in his household or purchased — every male among the members of Abraham’s household — and he circumcised the flesh of their foreskin on that very day, just as God had said to him.
Genesis 17:24 - Abraham was ninety-nine years old when the flesh of his foreskin was circumcised,
Genesis 17:25 - and his son Ishmael was thirteen years old when the flesh of his foreskin was circumcised.
Genesis 17:26 - On that very day Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised.
Genesis 17:27 - And all the men of his household — whether born in his household or purchased from a foreigner — were circumcised with him.
Galatians 2:1 - Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along also.

Colossians 2:16 - Therefore, don’t let anyone judge you in regard to food and drink or in the matter of a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day.

Galatians 2:14 - But when I saw that they were deviating from the truth of the gospel, I told Cephas in front of everyone, “If you, who are a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you compel Gentiles to live like Jews?”
Galatians 6:13 - For even the circumcised don’t keep the law themselves, and yet they want you to be circumcised in order to boast about your flesh.
Galatians 6:14 - But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world.
Galatians 6:15 - For both circumcision and uncircumcision mean nothing; what matters instead is a new creation.
Galatians 6:16 - May peace come to all those who follow this standard, and mercy even to the Israel of God!
Acts 6:14 - For we heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us.”
Leviticus 12:3 - The flesh of his foreskin must be circumcised on the eighth day.
1 Corinthians 7:18 - Was anyone already circumcised when he was called? He should not undo his circumcision. Was anyone called while uncircumcised? He should not get circumcised.
1 Corinthians 7:19 - Circumcision does not matter and uncircumcision does not matter. Keeping God’s commands is what matters.
Galatians 5:1 - For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm, then, and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:2 - Take note! I, Paul, am telling you that if you get yourselves circumcised, Christ will not benefit you at all.

Galatians 5:6 - For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith working through love.
Acts 15:5 - But some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “It is necessary to circumcise them and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”
