  • Matthew 24:24 - For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones.
  • Leviticus 20:6 - “I will also turn against those who commit spiritual prostitution by putting their trust in mediums or in those who consult the spirits of the dead. I will cut them off from the community.
  • Isaiah 8:19 - Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead?
  • Isaiah 8:20 - Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.
  • Revelation 19:20 - And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast—miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur.

  • Deuteronomy 18:10 - For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft,
  • Deuteronomy 18:11 - or cast spells, or function as mediums or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead.
  • Deuteronomy 18:12 - Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord. It is because the other nations have done these detestable things that the Lord your God will drive them out ahead of you.
  • 2 Timothy 3:8 - These teachers oppose the truth just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They have depraved minds and a counterfeit faith.
  • Acts of the Apostles 8:9 - A man named Simon had been a sorcerer there for many years, amazing the people of Samaria and claiming to be someone great.
  • Acts of the Apostles 8:10 - Everyone, from the least to the greatest, often spoke of him as “the Great One—the Power of God.”
  • Acts of the Apostles 8:11 - They listened closely to him because for a long time he had astounded them with his magic.
  • 2 Peter 2:1 - But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves.
  • 2 Peter 2:2 - Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.
  • 2 Peter 2:3 - In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.
  • Ezekiel 13:10 - “This will happen because these evil prophets deceive my people by saying, ‘All is peaceful’ when there is no peace at all! It’s as if the people have built a flimsy wall, and these prophets are trying to reinforce it by covering it with whitewash!
  • Ezekiel 13:11 - Tell these whitewashers that their wall will soon fall down. A heavy rainstorm will undermine it; great hailstones and mighty winds will knock it down.

  • Ezekiel 13:16 - They were lying prophets who claimed peace would come to Jerusalem when there was no peace. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!’
  • Exodus 22:18 - “You must not allow a sorceress to live.
  • Jeremiah 23:14 - But now I see that the prophets of Jerusalem are even worse! They commit adultery and love dishonesty. They encourage those who are doing evil so that no one turns away from their sins. These prophets are as wicked as the people of Sodom and Gomorrah once were.”
  • Jeremiah 23:15 - Therefore, this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says concerning the prophets: “I will feed them with bitterness and give them poison to drink. For it is because of Jerusalem’s prophets that wickedness has filled this land.”
  • 2 Corinthians 11:13 - These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ.
  • Matthew 16:17 - Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.
  • Mark 10:46 - Then they reached Jericho, and as Jesus and his disciples left town, a large crowd followed him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus (son of Timaeus) was sitting beside the road.
  • Zechariah 13:3 - If anyone continues to prophesy, his own father and mother will tell him, ‘You must die, for you have prophesied lies in the name of the Lord.’ And as he prophesies, his own father and mother will stab him.
  • 1 John 4:1 - Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.
  • Matthew 7:15 - “Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves.
