2 Kings 17:14 - But they would not listen. Instead they became obstinate like their ancestors who did not believe the Lord their God.
2 Kings 17:15 - They rejected his statutes and his covenant he had made with their ancestors and the warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves, following the surrounding nations the Lord had commanded them not to imitate.
2 Kings 17:16 - They abandoned all the commands of the Lord their God. They made cast images for themselves, two calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed in worship to all the stars in the sky and served Baal.
2 Kings 17:17 - They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire and practiced divination and interpreted omens. They devoted themselves to do what was evil in the Lord’s sight and angered him.
2 Kings 17:18 - Therefore, the Lord was very angry with Israel, and he removed them from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah remained.
2 Kings 17:19 - Even Judah did not keep the commands of the Lord their God but lived according to the customs Israel had practiced.
2 Kings 17:20 - So the Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel, punished them, and handed them over to plunderers until he had banished them from his presence.
2 Kings 17:21 - When the Lord tore Israel from the house of David, Israel made Jeroboam son of Nebat king. Then Jeroboam led Israel away from following the Lord and caused them to commit grave sin.

2 Kings 17:7 - This disaster happened because the people of Israel sinned against the Lord their God who had brought them out of the land of Egypt from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt and because they worshiped other gods.
2 Kings 17:8 - They lived according to the customs of the nations that the Lord had dispossessed before the Israelites and according to what the kings of Israel did.
2 Kings 17:9 - The Israelites secretly did things against the Lord their God that were not right. They built high places in all their towns from watchtower to fortified city.
2 Kings 17:10 - They set up for themselves sacred pillars and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree.
2 Kings 17:11 - They burned incense there on all the high places just like the nations that the Lord had driven out before them had done. They did evil things, angering the Lord.
2 Kings 17:12 - They served idols, although the Lord had told them, “You must not do this.”
2 Kings 17:13 - Still, the Lord warned Israel and Judah through every prophet and every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways and keep my commands and statutes according to the whole law I commanded your ancestors and sent to you through my servants the prophets.”
2 Kings 17:14 - But they would not listen. Instead they became obstinate like their ancestors who did not believe the Lord their God.
2 Kings 17:15 - They rejected his statutes and his covenant he had made with their ancestors and the warnings he had given them. They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves, following the surrounding nations the Lord had commanded them not to imitate.
2 Kings 17:16 - They abandoned all the commands of the Lord their God. They made cast images for themselves, two calves, and an Asherah pole. They bowed in worship to all the stars in the sky and served Baal.
2 Kings 17:17 - They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire and practiced divination and interpreted omens. They devoted themselves to do what was evil in the Lord’s sight and angered him.
2 Kings 17:18 - Therefore, the Lord was very angry with Israel, and he removed them from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah remained.
2 Kings 17:19 - Even Judah did not keep the commands of the Lord their God but lived according to the customs Israel had practiced.
2 Kings 17:20 - So the Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel, punished them, and handed them over to plunderers until he had banished them from his presence.
2 Kings 17:21 - When the Lord tore Israel from the house of David, Israel made Jeroboam son of Nebat king. Then Jeroboam led Israel away from following the Lord and caused them to commit grave sin.
2 Kings 17:22 - The Israelites persisted in all the sins that Jeroboam committed and did not turn away from them.
2 Kings 17:23 - Finally, the Lord removed Israel from his presence just as he had declared through all his servants the prophets. So Israel has been exiled to Assyria from their homeland to this very day.
2 Timothy 2:24 - The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but must be gentle to everyone, able to teach, and patient,
Daniel 9:6 - We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, leaders, ancestors, and all the people of the land.
Daniel 9:7 - Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but this day public shame belongs to us: the men of Judah, the residents of Jerusalem, and all Israel — those who are near and those who are far, in all the countries where you have banished them because of the disloyalty they have shown toward you.

Daniel 9:11 - All Israel has broken your law and turned away, refusing to obey you. The promised curse written in the law of Moses, the servant of God, has been poured out on us because we have sinned against him.

Deuteronomy 29:27 - Therefore the Lord’s anger burned against this land, and he brought every curse written in this book on it.
Deuteronomy 29:28 - The Lord uprooted them from their land in his anger, rage, and intense wrath, and threw them into another land where they are today.’
Jeremiah 3:8 - I observed that it was because unfaithful Israel had committed adultery that I had sent her away and had given her a certificate of divorce. Nevertheless, her treacherous sister Judah was not afraid but also went and prostituted herself.
Psalms 107:17 - Fools suffered affliction because of their rebellious ways and their iniquities.
Micah 3:4 - Then they will cry out to the Lord, but he will not answer them. He will hide his face from them at that time because of the crimes they have committed.
Nehemiah 9:26 - But they were disobedient and rebelled against you. They flung your law behind their backs and killed your prophets who warned them in order to turn them back to you. They committed terrible blasphemies.
Nehemiah 9:27 - So you handed them over to their enemies, who oppressed them. In their time of distress, they cried out to you, and you heard from heaven. In your abundant compassion you gave them deliverers, who rescued them from the power of their enemies.
Jeremiah 7:23 - However, I did give them this command: ‘Obey me, and then I will be your God, and you will be my people. Follow every way I command you so that it may go well with you.’
1 Peter 4:17 - For the time has come for judgment to begin with God’s household, and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God?
Deuteronomy 31:17 - My anger will burn against them on that day; I will abandon them and hide my face from them so that they will become easy prey. Many troubles and afflictions will come to them. On that day they will say, ‘Haven’t these troubles come to us because our God is no longer with us?’
