  • 1 Samuel 28:15 - Samuel said to Saul, “Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?” Saul replied, “I am terribly troubled! The Philistines are fighting against me and God has turned away from me. He does not answer me – not by the prophets nor by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what I should do.”
  • 1 Samuel 28:16 - Samuel said, “Why are you asking me, now that the Lord has turned away from you and has become your enemy?
  • 1 Samuel 28:17 - The Lord has done exactly as I prophesied! The Lord has torn the kingdom from your hand and has given it to your neighbor David!
  • 1 Samuel 28:18 - Since you did not obey the Lord and did not carry out his fierce anger against the Amalekites, the Lord has done this thing to you today.
  • 1 Samuel 28:19 - The Lord will hand you and Israel over to the Philistines! Tomorrow both you and your sons will be with me. The Lord will also hand the army of Israel over to the Philistines!”
  • 1 Samuel 28:20 - Saul quickly fell full length on the ground and was very afraid because of Samuel’s words. He was completely drained of energy, not having eaten anything all that day and night.
  • 1 Samuel 13:13 - Then Samuel said to Saul, “You have made a foolish choice! You have not obeyed the commandment that the Lord your God gave you. Had you done that, the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever!
  • 1 Samuel 13:14 - But now your kingdom will not continue! The Lord has sought out for himself a man who is loyal to him and the Lord has appointed him to be leader over his people, for you have not obeyed what the Lord commanded you.”
  • Isaiah 8:19 - They will say to you, “Seek oracles at the pits used to conjure up underworld spirits, from the magicians who chirp and mutter incantations. Should people not seek oracles from their gods, by asking the dead about the destiny of the living?”
  • Deuteronomy 18:10 - There must never be found among you anyone who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, anyone who practices divination, an omen reader, a soothsayer, a sorcerer,
  • Deuteronomy 18:11 - one who casts spells, one who conjures up spirits, a practitioner of the occult, or a necromancer.
  • Deuteronomy 18:12 - Whoever does these things is abhorrent to the Lord and because of these detestable things the Lord your God is about to drive them out from before you.
  • Deuteronomy 18:13 - You must be blameless before the Lord your God.
  • Deuteronomy 18:14 - Those nations that you are about to dispossess listen to omen readers and diviners, but the Lord your God has not given you permission to do such things.
  • Leviticus 19:31 - Do not turn to the spirits of the dead and do not seek familiar spirits to become unclean by them. I am the Lord your God.
  • 1 Samuel 15:23 - For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and presumption is like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you as king.”
  • Leviticus 20:6 - “‘The person who turns to the spirits of the dead and familiar spirits to commit prostitution by going after them, I will set my face against that person and cut him off from the midst of his people.
