Because of the day that is coming To destroy all the Philistines, To eliminate from Tyre and Sidon Every surviving ally; For the Lord is going to destroy the Philistines, The remnant of the coastland of Caphtor.Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon has been destroyed. Remnant of their valley, How long will you gash yourself?Ah, sword of the Lord, How long will you not be quiet? Withdraw into your sheath; Rest and stay still.How can it be quiet, When the Lord has given it an order? Against Ashkelon and against the sea shore— There He has summoned it.”

Ezekiel 26:15-21
The Lord God says this to Tyre:“ Will the coastlands not shake from the sound of your downfall when the wounded groan, when the slaughter takes place in your midst?Then all the princes of the sea will descend from their thrones, remove their robes, and strip off their colorfully woven garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling; they will sit on the ground, tremble again and again, and be appalled at you.And they will take up a song of mourning over you and say to you,‘ How you have perished, you inhabited one, From the seas, you famous city, Which was mighty on the sea, She and her inhabitants, Who imposed her terror On all her inhabitants!Now the coastlands will tremble On the day of your downfall; Yes, the coastlands which are by the sea Will be horrified at your passing.’ ”For this is what the Lord God says:“ When I make you a desolate city, like the cities which are not inhabited, when I bring up the deep over you and the great waters cover you,then I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to the people of old, and I will make you remain in the lower parts of the earth, like the ancient ruins, with those who go down to the pit, so that you will not be inhabited; but I will put glory in the land of the living.I will cause you sudden terrors and you will no longer exist; though you will be sought, you will never be found again,” declares the Lord God.

Jeremiah 51:8-9
Suddenly Babylon has fallen and been broken; Wail over her! Bring balm for her pain; Perhaps she may be healed.We applied healing to Babylon, but she was not healed; Abandon her and let’s each go to his own country, For her judgment has reached to heaven And it rises to the clouds.

For Gaza will be abandoned, And Ashkelon will become a desolation; The inhabitants of Ashdod will be driven out at noon, And Ekron will be uprooted.Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, The nation of the Cherethites! The word of the Lord is against you, Canaan, land of the Philistines; And I will eliminate you So that there will be no inhabitant.So the seacoast will become grazing places, With pastures for shepherds and folds for flocks.And the coast will be For the remnant of the house of Judah, They will drive sheep to pasture on it. In the houses of Ashkelon they will lie down at evening; For the Lord their God will care for them And restore their fortunes.
