For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what He has made. As a result, people are without excuse.
In past generations He allowed all the nations to go their own way,although He did not leave Himself without a witness, since He did what is good by giving you rain from heaven and fruitful seasons and satisfying your hearts with food and happiness.”
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands.Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge.There is no speech; there are no words; their voice is not heard.Their message has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens He has pitched a tent for the sun.It is like a groom coming from the bridal chamber; it rejoices like an athlete running a course.It rises from one end of the heavens and circles to their other end; nothing is hidden from its heat.
For as I was passing through and observing the objects of your worship, I even found an altar on which was inscribed: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you.The God who made the world and everything in it— He is Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in shrines made by hands.Neither is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives everyone life and breath and all things.From one man He has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live.He did this so they might seek God, and perhaps they might reach out and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.For in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said,‘ For we are also His offspring.’Being God’s offspring then, we shouldn’t think that the divine nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image fashioned by human art and imagination.“ Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent,
Look up and see: who created these? He brings out the starry host by number; He calls all of them by name. Because of His great power and strength, not one of them is missing.
But Yahweh is the true God; He is the living God and eternal King. The earth quakes at His wrath, and the nations cannot endure His rage.You are to say this to them,“ The gods that did not make the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth and from under these heavens.”He made the earth by His power, established the world by His wisdom, and spread out the heavens by His understanding.When He thunders, the waters in the heavens are in turmoil, and He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain and brings the wind from His storehouses.
