Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who rejoice at my hurt; Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor Who exalt themselves against me.
As he loved cursing, so let it come to him; As he did not delight in blessing, so let it be far from him.As he clothed himself with cursing as with his garment, So let it enter his body like water, And like oil into his bones.Let it be to him like the garment which covers him, And for a belt with which he girds himself continually.
Then she who is my enemy will see, And shame will cover her who said to me,“ Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will see her; Now she will be trampled down Like mud in the streets.
But the Lord is with me as a mighty, awesome One. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and will not prevail. They will be greatly ashamed, for they will not prosper. Their everlasting confusion will never be forgotten.
